James Arness Says This Is Why He Never Kissed Miss Kitty

- Did you know that the producers of Gunsmoke always intended for the characters of Marshal Matt Dillon and Miss Kitty to be secret lovers and that there was a commercial that aired early on in the show’s run in which the performers that played them kissed? For decades, fans of the classic Western television series Gunsmoke have been plagued with one question: did Marshal Matt Dillon and Miss Kitty ever kiss? Stars James Arness and Amanda Blake played the two characters, and it’s undeniable that the two performers had an incredible amount of chemistry on the screen. The show’s producers certainly exploited this chemistry, as audiences loved tuning in week after week to see if the characters were ever going to make things official.

Amanda Blake was in her mid-20s when she was cast on Gunsmoke, and she had to campaign pretty hard. Audiences became immediately smitten with the attractive actress, and her beauty became even more mind-blowing once the show switched over from black-and-white to color halfway through its run. Though the characters of Matt Dillon and Miss Kitty were never explicitly stated to be in a relationship over the course of the show’s run, it was undeniable that there was more going on between the two than there appeared to be.
Up until her 1989 death, Amanda Blake claimed that fans would routinely ask her if there was a Gunsmoke episode where Marshal Matt Dillon and Miss Kitty kissed. Sadly, the characters of Matt and Miss Kitty never did kiss on-screen during Gunsmoke proper, though there was a commercial that aired early on in the show’s run that showed Amanda kissing James on the cheek. Join Facts Verse as James Arness says this is why he never kissed Miss Kitty.

Yes I was sure they were having something going on in private
Is Jamie Lee Curtis still alive
@@andrehowell5943 Yes
Does it take a smack in the head. She was a maddam, running a bar and " party girls". She was a good person, but, Dillon's reputation was at stake. He had to appear impartial at all times. He was the Federal Marshall after all is said and done!
I didn't mind that they didn't kiss on the air or that their relationship was kept secret because......I could imagine hundreds of ways they were intimate! And I have a great imagination! 😉
Their chemistry was hot. ♨️💯👄
In a Christmas episode dealing with orphan runaways, at the end of the show Matt and Kitty were leaning on the bar. Kitty raised up and kissed Matt on the cheek telling him Merry Christmas cowboy. Very touching and made tears come into my eyes.
Yes she did. I just saw that episode the other night. I'm not sure that was the only time. I did realize they were more than friends though. I thought she left because Sam the Bartender died in real life and she couldn't handle the fact her friend was no longer on the show.
@@catherinerogers3395 I heard that too. It is sad that she didn’t know her last husband was bi-sexual and infected her with aids. She was the glue that held Gunsmoke together. I also loved Doc and his performance of his character. Festus was also a great actor.
I be looking for that episode this xmas. Thanks Annie.
@@Richard-zi3dy Jack Elam and Jeanette Nolan were in the episode. It was a great, touching episode.
Why no mention of Chester???
I LOVED Jim Arness since I was young. My daddy let us stay up until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday nights so we could watch "Gunsmoke". I wrote Jim a fan letter when I was 10 years old, and he sent me an autographed photo. I kept it for 40 years until I lost all my pictures in a hurricane.
The night of Jun 2, 2011, I had a dream that I saw Jim getting on a train. I wanted to get on the train, too, but he just smiled, shook his head no, and stepped inside and the train left. It was such a strange dream and I couldn't imagine why I dreamed about him. The next day, I saw that he had died. True story. I still love him!
Beautiful words, thank you for your message for James. Which episode of the show appealed to you the most?
My mom dreamt of the song, I believe it was somewhere over the rainbow, She couldn't understand why she dreamt about that song.... she woke up that morning and found out the man who had wrote it, had died the night before. Literally during the night. Weird... the tie between strangers?
I believe that's why the show was such a success. The chemistry between the two was just beautiful and it kept the viewers wondering, watching and wanting more. I still today watch this western movie, one of my favorite.
We absolutely agree! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. Be safe and have a great day!
Yes! Had they made the 'behind the scenes' relationship public, they would've had to write scenes with Matt walking into 'their' home (no longer just the jail), hanging up his gun belt, tossing his badge on the dresser, and proclaiming, "Honey, I'm home", then giving Miss Kitty a kiss. It would've instantly become another "I Love Lucy" show, and would've killed it.
I love this show and still watch re-runs to this day.
We're happy to know that you love the show. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. If we may ask, which episode did you like the best?
Me too! I watch it every day.
Me too, all day on two different channels
Me too
I still watch them to , I kinda try to pass down tradition because I always remember my granddad sleep in the chair with gunsmoke or Bonanza on TV .
Gunsmoke was a great western there’s not too many TV shows that would last 20 years but it’s sad the way Amanda Blake died but they were all great all the characters fit like a glove
We're happy to know that you love the show. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. If we may ask, which episode did you like the best?
NBC is taking great joy in hyping the longevity of Law & Order SVU. They fail to mention that the fan base isn't as big as it says. The real reason is that they have cut the budget so much that its cheaper to keep it on the air then go with a new drama. The cast was cut to a bare minimum and the quality of the writing, production, and direction has suffered also.
No other TV westerns compared to GUNSMOKE.
So right no other western I absolutely love gunsmoke
Matt's mistress was his badge. He made that clear early on. HOWEVER, his love for Kitty and hers for him was made clear over the years. In a episode called "The Dog Soldiers", after Kitty was abused and shot by Jude Bonner (William Smith), in a very tender scene, Matt took Kitty's hand and told her "he needed her". He then took off his badge(one of only a hand full of times he did) and went after Bonner and his gang. He didn't kill Bonner, but showed him you don't mess with his woman.
I know it was Hollywood, but how I wish our "broken" system in today's world was more like Matt. I know I would feel alot safer. RIP Matt & Kitty
My mother LOVED Gunsmoke! Loved Matt Dillon.❤️ She passed a couple months ago. Watching Gunsmoke. Miss you so much mommy🙏❤️❤️
As a woman I agree 100%. Chivalry died decades ago and now men treat women more like their drinking buddies. It's very sad 😔....for both of them.
Correct-- that episode is called “Hostage.” Season 18, Episode 13
Thanks for the correction

My Dad's favorite show. We watched together during his last years. Priceless memories. Great video.
My daddy looked like James Arness/Matt Dillon! He & I watched it a lot. Unfortunately, had to trade off watching Lawrence Welk, which mom liked, so missed some episodes. But we caught up during reruns, and I have a boatload of vhs episodes I taped off of Tvland.
@@graceisamazing5493 that's so cool! Life with our parents was gold. My Dad looked like Andy Griffith in the Matlock years. I enjoyed Laurence Welk too. Thanks for your sweet hearted comments.
Gunsmoke is/was one of the best shows I have ever watched back in the day and also today. When I watch it, I feel like I am there with them right around the next corner. I love the connection that Matt and Kitty showed on screen. You can see the chemistry is there. It is a shame they could not have gotten together in real live. Also it is a shame Amanda was fired. She and Matt kept that show together. I loved it and still do.
We're glad to know that you love the show. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. If we may ask, which episode did you like the best?
Now it’s September 2023 and my husband and I are STILL watching reruns of reruns of Gunsmoke and we are absolutely definitely enjoying them! They had such chemistry...R.I.P. Marshal Dillon and Miss Kitty!
Matt Dillon was a Man's Man. We all know he loved Miss Kitty but he also realized as the Marshal, his days were numbered.
I remember reading somewhere James Arness was asked by a fan about this and he said with a glint in his eye paraphrasing, "What do you think Matt was really doing there for a nightcap after the Long Branch closed? "
This was one of the best western programs I watched growing up, good writers and actors.

We're happy to know that you love the show. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. If we may ask, which episode did you like the best?
The scenes they had together where they were alone certainly had that feel to them!
Absolutely! They really had chemistry. If we may ask, which episode is the most memorable for you?
All scenes where they were talking and their face were too close to each other that a kiss was too apparent. I'm so carried away by these two lol
I would have loved to see them marry and have a family. The producer should not have fired Amanda because she was a huge part of the show and had given so much to the character she played.
Us too! We love Gunsmoke. If we may ask, which episode is the most memorable for you?
Never heard that Amanda Blake had been fired. Heard that she didn’t want to come back after the actor that played Sam passed. She said her heart wasn’t in it any longer. That’s what I read.
As much as I loved all of the characters, Miss Kitty and the Long branch was where everybody came for A drink, a very serious meeting, or to find Matt. In those days, the Marshall could certainly not marry the owner of a Ho House. Matt couldn’t live with kitty and kitty couldn’t live in the jail, this show would have failed if they had bought a ranch, or farm just outside of town. The show was successful for 20 years because intelligent people were being asked to read between the lines. We all read between the lines and we all know how Kitty and Matt Felt about each other. Bravo, Gunsmoke is my favorite show of all times. For some reason the black-and-white gunsmoke episodes were my favorite. We have the entire collection, and I always go to the black-and-white episodes first. Kitty was very beautiful and don’t get me started on Matt Dillon. I was way too young for Marshall Dillon, but if I could have, I would have found a way to make him mine. I am not kidding.
@@marylee8534 Well said Mary! Well said! I knew that they could not show their relationship ship! The Sheirf, has to keep the order in the town! Miss Kitty's profession, a Madame; was illegal! Most of the gun slingers causing havoc, would start in her Bar! The show did last for 20 years, because we did read between the lines!! 👏
@@Chutney1luv Thank you for responding to my comment. I have given Miss Kitty and Marshal Dillon a lot of thought, As I would have been happy to marry Marshal Dillon, if Miss Kitty were unavailable. I do love the alpha male.
Still watching this great western show. Misses Kitty was so beautiful.

We all can see the chemistry and passion between Matt and Miss Kitty. I hate that they never got together on Gunsmoke but it's ok. I'm a true and die hard fan of this great western😊😊😊
I am a great fan of Gunsmoke too. I have watched reruns over and over and over. But if I watch them 5000 more times that still would not be enough for me. Why did they have a secret relationship after Gunsmoke? Couldn't it have been told. Everyone kinda knew that they were involved. They were the very best couple of all time on Gunsmoke. Bar none. To me the very best of any couple. Loved them. Wish I could have met James in person.
I feel the same way. I never get tired of Gunsmoke. I guess they wanted to keep their love affair a secret so their spouses wouldn't get hurt😊😊😊
@@michelleneal2023 If they probably didn't want their spouses hurt they shouldn't have had a secret love affair. If that is the reason for it being secret.

There was an episode of them having a day out in the country. They had a picnic and it appeared perhaps "afternoon delight" for dessert. Just the feeling I got.

I wasn't even born yet when Gunsmoke was on during the early years. I was born in 1969 and didn't know what Gunsmoke was until 2016. I have a thing for classic movies and television. When I started watching the show that year, I couldn't get my eyes from watching the show. I have my Gunsmoke channel now I am continuously watching the show and also looked for any episodes probably missed. I can say it's a great and "1"derful western show. By the way, like many others who's drawn to this show I wished Matt and Kitty had a loving relationship.
We're happy to know that you're a fan of Gunsmoke and even has a channel for it. We wish you all the best!
Gunsmoke will forever be my favorite show. Thank you for so many years of happiness. My mom started me on this show when I was very young and I've loved it since. ❤❤❤
Someone else may have already mentioned this, but I recall once reading that in the original radio version of the show, Miss Kitty's "ladies" were more blatantly spelled out to be prostitutes, not just "saloon girls encouraging the men to buy them drinks". In addition, Matt and Kitty were lovers, with Matt staying over at Kitty's on a fairly regular basis. I read (or heard) that when the show made its transition to television, they transitioned KItty's profession to less of a "madam" and more focus on running the Long Branch saloon, and made the relationship between Matt and Kitty more family-friendly, and therefore more ambiguous with respect to Matt and KItty's physical relationship, given that they were not married.
It would have been crazy to see John Wayne as Matt Dillon. I think John Wayne made the right choice to recommend James Arness.
I love Gunsmoke. Every cast member is so perfect casted for their part. I watch it daily, and grew up watching it DeeDee
We're happy to know that you love the show. In your opinion, what is its best episode?
One of the best shows ever.
In one episode after she had a really fancy room, she invited him there for dinner. He was completely comfortable. In another, he was talking to her late at night and told her he'd see her later. The intent in his time was unmistakable.
Those 2 clues were all I needed
What you know but can't see is always more enticing! Still watching after all these years. Janie in TN.
Yes there was no need to make it explicit.
You have a dirty mind lol 😂
He fell asleep on her bed after then dinner!!
You're delusional grandma sue! He never kissed her because she was a loose immoral Madame and Matt never had a clue as to where Miss Kitty's little painted and purring red lips had recently been.
I still watch Gunsmoke often. It's one of my favorite shows along with Andy Griffith.
We're very happy to know that you're a fan of Gunsmoke. If we may ask, which episode is the most memorable for you?
@@FactsVerse I love them all. If I had to choose it would be the episode Ms Kitty was kidnapped and held in a cave with a little girl. Can't think of the name.
Love Andy& Matlock also 😃
Wouldn't have been Gunsmoke if Matt and Kitty had a romantic interest in each other. You always knew they did. Just never saw it.
I caught the last 30 minutes of an episode last year and have been glued to it ever since! The storytelling is so much better than anything they are doing now.
It was great family-oriented entertainment. Had Kitty and Matt had a sexual relationship outside of marriage I don't think parents would have let their children watch...given the times. There was always the good vs evil in the stories, and Matt was supposed to be the good, so he had to show integrity and honor.
Well said, we strongly concur! Thank you for watching our content and for sharing your thoughts. What other types of video would you like to see?
I recall my whole family watching every episode of Gunsmoke when I was growing up in the Midwest. The writing was consistently good. And the chemistry between the characters was always fun to watch. Even though I was just a kid, I knew very well that Ms Kitty was a hot number. The episode featuring Betty Davis was a ratings knowout. Some cast members thought Davis would be difficult to work with....but by the end of the shoot they all loved her.

@@FactsVerse are you ABSOLUTELY sure about Amanda Blake being fired? Was under the impression she didn’t want to fly back and forth to Arizona anymore.
She gave him a kiss on the cheek in the episode "Murry Christmas".
Even as a child, I knew there was something special between Matt and Miss Kitty. (smile)
A show that lives on in infamy. You just never tire of the people and wish we could all live longer to enjoy such creativity.
I always thought they had a secret affair, they both loved each other, the chemistry was there, I watch Gunsmoke every day, it's October 2022. I start watching at 7am-8am, then 10:00-12 noon, the turn the channel 12-4pm, then 7:00pm-8pm, then 9pm-11:00pm, then 12midnight-1:00am. That's all day between tvland&inspire, love it, I'm a 71 yr old female
One of the greatest Westerns ever made, and had all of the best cast, from the beginning to the end, as kids we would watch it every time it came on and the best favorite one and the longest running one of all time, I miss all of them, but time has taken away a lot of great things that we'll never get back, so stay young as long as you can and enjoy every second of it because one day you'll wake up in your 80s and wonder what in the heck happened to my youth now that it is gone, but had a great Life any way, God bless these wonderful people that bought Love and happiness to a lot of poor poeple back then, but they are still a live in our Hearts for ever.
We absolutely agree! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. Be safe and have a great day!
I could tell by just watching them that they loved each other and they both knew it. But I also knew Matt didn't want a serious relationship or to be married because if the nature of his job. I love that show I watch the reruns all the time, it beats some of the shows on TV now days!
It beats all TV shows now
Love this show it had a great cast and I still watch the reruns today
We're glad to know that you love the show. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. If we may ask, which episode did you like the best?
Standards & Practices were a lot stricter back then, but considering they were together almost 2 decades, I believe there was a "discreet element" to their relationship that was left to the viewer's imagination. Also, the best relationships are the ones that "never quite happen." Marriage tends to douse romantic chemistry. I do recall "Kittty's Love Affair" when she was torn between that guy and Matt, and how she still chose Matt even when he wouldn't offer her a stronger commitment.
The kiss would have been nice but the chemistry between them was intoxicating!
Dedicated to Cassell and mommy who watched and rewatched. ❤
Always thought there was a lot of chemistry between Matt and Miss Kitty.. you could almost "feel it" coming through the TV screen. My parents always watched "Gunsmoke," feel as though I grew up with that show.
Well said, we strongly concur! Thank you for watching our content and for sharing your thoughts. What other types of video would you like to see?
I never thought Matt and Kitty had any sexual chemistry. Part of that may be due to Jim Arness. I may be wrong but I don't think he would have ever been comfortable being loving and affectionate on screen. Of course, he had no problem giving Michael Learned a good kiss in 'Matt's Love Story'. But other than that kiss, I don't remember Matt being seductive or affectionate.....or really vulnerable at all. I remember a black & white episode where Matt faked showing an interest in a bad lady to trip her up, but even then he didn't show any of the feelings most men do in those situations. Arness kind of reminded me of Andy Griffith in that sense. I don't think Andy was comfortable showing females affection on screen. I even remember one episode where he and Helen are in the kitchen and they're supposed to be having a long kiss; they have their backs to the camera, but it's obvious they're not kissing. I never understood that, because he did kiss her a couple of other times. I later even heard that they had a fairly long affair back then. But I digress.
But Matt and Kitty did connect well as the best of friends.
There was a porno version of Gunsmoke, as I recall. It was " Smoke that Gun" , I think. Matt and Miss Kitty did way more than kiss, as you can imagine. And she did it with Chester as well. I think it cured his limp. I know it cured his limp you know what... (?)
I knew they were hooking up when Ms. Kitty told Matt Dillion in one episode, "I will leave the door open for you after you finished your rounds. I think that relationship they had was a really happy one. The other reason is Matt allowed sharing but no man better harm Ms. Kitty. LMAO
I liked to watch Gunsmoke. I loved Matt Dillon, and Miss Kitty. They were a nice couple. Too bad they are gone ,but I settle for repeat episodes. And also I liked it when Burt Renolds came out. I liked the show very much.😍
We're happy to know that you're a fan of the show, Matt and Miss Kitty. If we may ask, which episode is your favorite?
I was a very young child in the fifties when this show started on TV. Our family watched every episode every week. I wouldn't have understood any inuendo back then. However, as an adult re-watching the same episodes, I can certainly read between the lines now. And sure enough, there was something happening.
Best show ever and I loved Quint Asper.
I was and am a big fan of this show and I own the complete Gun Smoke series and all four made for TV movies, and yes! I knew about the relationship between the characters and why it was that Matt and Kittie tried to keep quiet. How ever in several episodes it was made clear, one of my favorites being Mannon the gunfighter who comes to Dodge to kill Matt. That one was so good that in the first made for TV movie return to Dodge they redid it and gave us a more satisfying ending.
We're happy to know that you love the show. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. If we may ask, which episode did you like the best?
That's the one I was referring to, thanx!
From what i read she wasn't fired. She quit because her dear friend Glenn Strange died and she was tired of the commute from AZ to CA. Why would they fire a popular actress?

towards the end when the Town Boys are

was many... Have A Wonderful Day..
and Thank You..
My favorite episode of Gunsmoke is "The Foundling." It accurately portrayed some of the thinking of past times. Kay Lenz gave a good portrayal of Lettie, an unwed mother (against her will) whose parents send her away and want nothing to do with her because of it. When Matt finds her in a cave post-birth, he takes her back to her parents' farm where it's clear her mother is overjoyed to see her and wants her to stay. The father only agrees that Lettie can stay after his wife threatens to leave him and Matt calls him out, but both parents insist that the illegitimate child must go. Everyone gave good performances in this episode.
We remember that episode too! Thank you for bringing back memories. What other types of video would you like to see on our channel?
Another episode I remember I'd Matt and Kitty getting super friendly was in the earlier years. They we outside the Longbranch on the porch. Kitty was in a more revealing dress. They were all hugged up and smiling and acting lovey dovey. I was expecting them to run up the stairs to her room and get "busy". Of course that didn't happen. They sure missed an opportunity to take the story line a bit further. Darn it!
I just watched The Foundling a couple days ago. I thought Kitty was being selfish, but glad she realized the baby should go to that woman who had first dibs.
Matt and Kitty's relationship is proof, if proof be needed, that that which is understood needs not be stated.
Carlos,I heard somewhere that Kitty was married three ttmes and all three men were unfaithful to her.
He also kissed her cheek in the episode "Hostage"
Several things are WRONG in this video.
1- James and Amanda (Matt and Kitty) DID kiss on Gunsmoke. To be more specific, Kitty kissed Matt on the cheek, like she did in that early commercial. The Gunsmoke episode was 'P.S. Murry Christmas', Episode 15 of Season 17 (December 27, 1971).
2- Matt and Kitty's relationship was not a secret, nor did they try to keep it secret. Everybody seemed to know that they had an understanding, from the townspeople to some of the bad guys that crossed Matt's path. They were not outwardly affectionate (touchy feely) when together, but it was clear that they were an item throughout the show.
3- I have never heard or read that Amanda Blake was fired from Gunsmoke. My understanding is that she decided to leave after 19 seasons because she was tired and wanted a break from acting. Another reason was the death of her good friend Glenn Strange, 'Sam the bartender'. He passed away not long into the 19th season - September 1973 and she had a hard time dealing with the loss.
4- Kitty never gave Matt an ultimatum to make their relationship public or she was going to leave him. Will Stambridge did propose to Kitty, and she went to Matt and tried to get him to commit. But Matt wouldn't or couldn't and she ultimately turned Will down.
I've never heard or read about Amanda being unhappy with her wardrobe, but I'm pretty dang sure they would not have fired her over it.
You had me till dang
@@mikeduggincom Well doggonit!
A kiss on the cheek does not count. A brother/sister could do that, or a mom/son. Were talking of a prolonged lover's kiss on the mouth which NEVER happened.
I agree with most of your post I started watching at 5 with my dad and still watch 1 to 20 on Philo since I retired. It's true per John Mantley (sp) he turndown Blake's request she was fired because of her request for new wardrobe which was falling apart and ripped he said it was the worst decision he ever made. At 73 I still have a crush on Dillion. Since he knew she was not coming back wish he would have let them get together.
I think that everything that happened on Gunsmoke was the best. I think the writers made the right decisions concerning Matt and Ms Kitty’s romance and or relationship, because it worked out perfect which made Gunsmoke the best Western ever.
You're a true fan! We're moved by your message to Gunsmke 💗

Fun stuff, thanks for sharing! Be safe and have a great week 😀
I’m addicted to this show. Just love it !!! I watch it everyday. I admire all the stars in it especially James Arness.
I think they should of let them be more in the show. But we know he did in fact hang his hat up at Kitty's place. Atleast one show I remember showed that.
It was obvious they were loves in Gunsmoke. You had to be blind not to see it. My favorite western show.
Glad to know that you're a fan of Gunsmoke. Which episode is the most memorable for you?
It is hard to pick my favorite show. I really liked them all. It is/was just one fabulous show.
We're glad to know that you love the show. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. If we may ask, which episode did you like the best?
It doesn’t matter!weather they kissed or not! They were very good!
I'll never stop watching. As a matter of fact my next episode is coming on now. ❤🤠
I know that in the radio series, Miss Kitty was a "Lady of the Night", but it was cleaned up for the television show. Also, on the radio series, Matt and Miss Kitty also had an unspoken relationship.
You were right.
In the 1st season it didn't look like they had anything going on it was more so MS kitty doing a lot of flirting with matt but as the show progressed it was very clear they were a couple, everybody in town knew they were together even people who didn't live there would be like oh that's the Marshals girl and women would be like the Marshals your man but kitty would make it clear he was more her man than anybody else's but she had no claim on him. I remember that night kitty was closing up the bar and matt was the last one to leave and he said he would be back kitty was looking for him and said to Sam I thought I had a date but, the next morning kitty was really mad at him until she found out he was kidnapped, you couldn't get more clearer than that and that's just one example.
Maybe the show didn't reveal a separate full-blown make-up session but there were plenty of very intimate scenes that the two were more than just friends. The lengths each went to to protect their relationship
And a cozy dinner or two in her room. It was obvious there was more to their relationship than friendship. In this case less is more and the imagination was more than meets the eye. That was the way I read it. I read into this relationship that they really loved each other and went to great lengths to protect it and respect it.❤😊🎉
From childhood to being 70 love ❤ it
An interesting aside: when asked by Steve Forest's outlaw character " ..are you Matt Dillon's woman?", Kitty replied, "I'm his woman." Matt apparently kills the outlaw, but I guess not: the character reappears in the mftv movie, and he has to kill him again.
Liked every episode. Stillwatch .
Gunsmoke is favorite western series. Great facts about James and Amanda.

No matter what happened,
I loved these people,
And still do!
Merry Christmas 🎄 dear
Thank you for actually giving us a reason why the two never kissed!
I STILL WATCH THIS SHOW EVERY DAY LOVE LOVE LOVE
We are watching all Gunsmoke episodes and
started at the beginning. We are currently on Season 4. 👍🏼👌🏼👍🏼
I’m doing the same thing! I’m 48 and I love this show. Been watching it off and on for years
I have watched this show since it started. It was mine and my Dad’s favorite show. I watch reruns on two channels all day and night. But with 600 episodes, I wonder why we watch the same 20 over and over. I wish they would play some other reruns for awhile.
Returns. Was. Great. Watching it today.
Absolutely, we feel the same way! Thank you for sharing your sentiments and for watching our content. What other types of video would you like to see on our channel?
I never knew MS Blake died of aids, Wow that threw me a loop. I grew up watching these, and the entire cast was awesome from doc,to festus, miss kitty and matt Dillion. I also remember all the stars who appeared on Thier episodes, like so many other shows like Bonanza and Big Valley. Many great actors got Thier starts from these shows, like Burt Reynolds and many others.
In fact it's been years, I think I'm going to watch an episode of two.
Thanks..
She got aids from her last husband who apparently cheated on her. Nice guy!😡
Amanda married a Bisexual man. Yikes !

@@FactsVerse I enjoy them all, just keep up the great work..
Randy, she contracted AIDS from her husband, or so I read someplace years ago.
I love watching gunsmoke all these years , probably one of my favorite tv shows, im watching it now as i read this report 🤣👍
We're glad to know that you love the show. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. If we may ask, which episode did you like the best?
Love Gunsmoke, still watch it when I can! Matt and Miss Kitty adored one another, it was right there on their faces! I do wish they had kissed though, lol❤️
We love Gunsmoke too! Thank you for sharing your thoughts. If we may ask, what is your favorite episode?
@@FactsVerse I love so many!
Love when Miss Kitty had that mine, love the one when she was leaving early in the morn and was helping with her friends little boy and love the ones with that young man Cale! Gosh I love Gunsmoke, love so many!❤️
People are convinced they kissed on air because they was affectionate with each other, they flirted, they teased each other, hugged and walked off in each others arms. Also the theory about Matt didn't want Miss Kitty to be a target for being his women isn't that really a good reason since she was known as being Matt's woman and he did rescue her a few times because of people targeting her because of him.
In the 17th season there was a 3 part episode where they were transporting Matt, who had been shot in the back and the bullet couldn't be removed, to Colorado. This was also the episode that Doc. Adams, Millburn Stone, had returned to the show. Anyway, Miss Kitty tells the villainess "yes he is my man, and I'll do whatever it takes to protect him."
That's the only time I recall the relationship being made so clear.
I also watched those episodes ❤️
@@yvonneglover9530 Imagining what may have been is what keeps us watching.I time in every morning on Pluto TV.That and my coffee are a welcome waker-upper! J Hayes
I remember and love that episode. I am 74 years old, and a Marine Combat Veteran and I still shed a tear when Matt says, "I noticed" to Miss Kitty's account about the first time she saw him upon her arrival in Dodge City, and that she noticed him and she wondered if he noticed her. "LOVE IT"
Listen to Gunsmoke on radio every night! It brings me a calm feeling

Amanda was beautiful, back in the 1950 episodes she was stunning
Well said, we strongly concur! Thank you for watching our content and for sharing your thoughts. What other types of video would you like to see?
She was in a movie with John Derek called The Adventures of Hajji Baba.
She has a real mean streak in her that most men would have found very
difficult to tame! Claude Atkins also played a character as well, so they had
worked together in a movie before Gunsmoke. She never lost that beauty.
We need more shows like GunSmoke , that have a real storyline. Great actors.
Not a bunch of fake people trying to act kool.
Awesome show
We're happy to know that you love the show. In your opinion, what is its best episode?
This was my Mom’s favorite show and I love watching the old episodes!
I'm sure you like that carton of cigarettes but I do think he like miss Kitty's cat
I'd like to get my smokes delivered that way too you don't know anybody do you? Just kidding this kid
It's lawyer middle name Holand alone hello I'm the Lou goodbye ours he adds
We set Gunsmoke on DVR and have been watching it for months. There is at least once where Kitty kisses Matt on his cheek. More surprising is an episode where he is in her room putting his shirt back on!!
We're glad to know that you love the show. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. If we may ask, which episode did you like the best?
Same with Steed & Emma on the tv show "The Avengers". They never kissed but had a very close relationship. Since they worked together as a team they kept it professional.
Gunsmoke was one of my favorite Western. I watched it back when I was a kid I'm in my 70s and I still watch it on cable.
I love Gun Smoke .I watch it still , everyday
We're glad to know that you love the show. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. If we may ask, which episode did you like the best?
I watch Gunsmoke Monday thru Friday and still enjoy it no matter how many times I watch it. I liked the early 30 min. episodes as well but the hour ones gives room for a lot more to the story. I will probably keep watching as long as it's shown. I watched it as a kid and now at 70 why stop a good thing.
We're happy to know that you're a fan of the show. In your opinion, what is its best episode?
I grew up as a little girl in the 50's & Gunsmoke was a family gathering show. Mom popped popcorn as a snack to eat while watching. The black & white versions episodes were the best. We're now getting the same episodes on the Insp Dish Network channel opening up with Matt walking through Boot Hill with his monologue about the people buried there.
Well said, we strongly concur! Thank you for watching our content and for sharing your thoughts. What other types of video would you like to see?
I watch the re-runs and the movies. I read that Amanda Blake left the show I believe 1 season after her great friend and bartender, Glen Strange, passed away. She said it was never the same without him.
2022 and I can’t wait till bedtime every night because it’s Gunsmoke before bed. I’m in season 8 and have many more to go😊. I love the black and white seasons.
