The Friendliest Village in Cebu Philippines 🇵🇭
Вставка
- Опубліковано 31 січ 2024
- Welcome to rural North Cebu Philippines. Today we are off the beaten path once again exploring the quiet villages of Mahawak, Kawit and Bakhawan in the far north of Cebu island. The people here are mostly fishermen and live off of the ocean and surrounding farmlands. This experience really opened our minds and made us see the real Philippines.

I love the Philippines and the people. I've been to lots of different parts there and the people are always friendly and helpful. I like visiting the popular places like Borocay etc, but also love to visit places like this too. I'm looking forward to going back and in the mean time I shall watch videos like this on UA-cam
Thank you for watching ☺️yes, absolutely. People here are truly incredible.
@@TwoMadExplorers I enjoyed the video
There’s too much pagpag and slums everywhere tho 😢
@@TheOnlyTruthTalker there is a lot of poverty there that’s true. Unfortunately most vloggers only show the beautiful parts and make it look like paradise. A lot of places are run down and scruffy but I still love the place, well it’s the people I love, they are so happy and friendly and make me welcome.
Wow ganda dha idol
Its amaziiing that you try to immerse with the locals

Mam Naomi, do you know the German travel vlogger Ken Abroad. Like the two of you, he is also amiable, warm and friendly to the locals and speaks articulately and clearly the English language. He had also explored this place in one of his vlogs. And all around the province of cebu actually.
Guy's if you going back to manila, just choose 2GO big boat it's like a cruise ship from Cebu to Manila, you will enjoy 24 hours sailing thrs a karaoke 🎤 club, restaurant, etc, 👍❤️🌹🇵🇭
Wow amazing!
14:41 The side things are called "outriggers" ("katig" in Filipino). They are UNIQUE to the Austronesian peoples (the ancestors of Filipinos), who were the earliest humans to invent ships that could cross the seas (c. 3000 to 2000 BC). You can see the same technology in other regions which are also settled by Austronesians - Island Southeast Asia, Micronesia, Polynesia, and Madagascar. They exist even in very large boats, though in some cases, they become less of an outrigger and more of a double or triple hull (catamaran and trimaran, which are also unique Austronesian inventions).
The idea is to distribute the ships buoyancy over a larger area so the ship can carry more with tall fore-and-aft sails without capsizing, as well as being more stable in rough seas and providing a larger deck area for working. In modern times, these ideas have been adapted in western boatmaking for making fast agile ships. Like the modern catamaran ferries (which can be very large) or the new trimaran warships of the US.
In the past, they were used for ocean-crossing trading ships to India and Africa, as well as in pirate warships during the colonial era. Similar ships (though with only one outrigger or as catamarans) were used by Austronesians to cross to Micronesia and Polynesia.
You'll notice that these types of boats do not exist in mainland Asia. Mainland Asian boats tend to be flat-bottomed without outriggers, because they were used only in rivers and calmer coastal seas. Thailand, for example, is not Austronesian. Their boats look very different.
True true! The outriggers are balancers.. you must be a boat builder.. my lolo was once
I'm watching now... Nice to beach bantayan cebu

The for sale sign is hilarious. The same funny story happened a long time ago to my step dad, who is British. Him and my mum were walking around my area in Negros Silay City and my dad saw the same sign "For Sale Oling" my step dad thought the house was for sale when in fact they were selling char coal. Oling means charcoal. My step dad wanted my mum to speak to the owner to enquire about the "Oling/house" for sale as he was interested in buying the house. My mum couldn't stop laughing.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😅😂😂😂😂 the name of the house owner is "oling"
Filipino here in NY watching 👍👍

"ULING AND KAHOY" FOR SALE MEANS "CHARCOAL AND FIREWOOD" FOR SALE❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
"Kahoy and uling" = wood and charcoal. Usually for grilling fish, which local tourists typically do on the beach.

HI guys looks like you were in Mahawak, I've driven down that road many time, Iam English born Australian with a Filipina wife and we have a house in Daanlungsod Medellin about 5km from you location. Enjoy you trip
Wow that’s a beautiful location Roy! Thanks so much for watching ☺️🙏
I like your shirt bro 🤘

I love the sound of the ocean splash. Thank you for sharing this beautiful fishery town. Laid back is natural in the province. Folks live here and raise their families, pigs goats and chickens. The goal is to have their kids find good jobs in the big cities. People are poor. They can’t afford to pay full price for WiFi. ( coin operated for just limited use) The tricycle taxi been around for decades. It’s not western standard of safety but people cannot afford airbags for this little transportation type taxis.
Dried fish are sardines and mackerels. Add tomatoes fish sauce and rice, you will have a meal. Typical Filipino meals. The only time they eat beef, chicken or pork is for special occasions, holidays, birthdays etc. Poverty life style. Apples, oranges are only affordable to some. It’s not a daily consumption because of the price. You guys have the cottage like living in the jungle. Very nice
place. They sell mosquito spray to spray around the bed when you guys are ready to go to bed , Tuck in the mosquito net and spray.
Thank you for the tour. You guys are great. Be safe and always watch your surroundings. ✌️ ❤❤❤❤❤
.
Thank you so much for your information and for watching our videos ❤️☺️
You painted a picture of the Philippines 50 years back in time. As if most Filipinos today are still mired in abject poverty.
@@lionhearted1969 Filipino are not like Americans or British or Japanese
The only Filipino family that can afford to eat apples and oranges are the middle class folks that are from the city that have real jobs and can afford living like normal
Nothings changed since the 80’s that’s why the Philippine peso is worthless today
@@bert-bb3cm Pls stop that crappy mentality. As you can see in this video, do you those houses are owned by miserable people? If the vendor sells those kinds of luxury items (as you said only middle class people would buy apples, oranges which are cheaper than mangoes, btw), then who do you think their market on this very rural community? Time to use your brain.🙂

In Davao area there's someone who successfully grown Fuji apple and different areas of the Philippines have grape farm.
Incredible!
@@TwoMadExplorers Filipinos are resourceful always find ways to survive that's why a Filipino agriculturist who were curious about growing apple that's why he started it with the seeds in the wet tissue/napkin then he put inside the refrigerator to sprout then he plant it. When the apple tree is growing he'd noticed that the tree did bear fruit that why he search UA-cam how an apple tree bear fruit then he discovered the right pruning to sustain the tree with the right amount of sunlight then it was successful.

The apples in the Philippines are primarily from China (mostly Fuji apples and Asian pears) and the US (mostly for Red Delicious and other apples). Filipinos eat a lot of apples for holiday dishes, which is probably why it's better quality. Unlike in other Southeast Asian countries where apples are more of a curiosity.

Oh! I thought you guys are Romanians. I made a mistake of informing you of a couple Romanian vloggers had their adventure in the Philippines recently. Sorry guys!😊
It’s okay ❤️☺️
Be careful when eating lanzones with seeds because some lanzones have seeds (that are green) and once you get a bite on those green seeds, it would secrete a very bitter taste. It's very seldom that you find seedless lanzones.
Thank you 🙏
The sign say, sell firewood and charcoal.

Yes it’s perfect hahaha
Uling=charcoal kahoy=firewood

Lanzones does not have an English name. Though "Lanzones" is already considered Philippine English (it's originally Spanish), other English speakers don't know it. You're probably more familiar with it by its Malay name: "langsat".
