The first time I watched someone talk about safety in China, I didn't really get it. I don't have the concept of safety because I am Chinese and live in a small town in Connecticut, USA. Later, I finally got the meaning of SAFETY after I visited San Fransisco.
The 1st time I heard a English talk about safety in Beijing was 2009, I thought it was weird and didn’t think more about it until I live in California, yes , some Chinese even think China is not safe enough because they have no idea what is like outside of China, also the social medias in China always says how better outside of China, how bad china is
@@TOKYOTOYBANZAI If you live in China you will find out that there are online channels to voice your honest opinions, and it works. What's terrible though is how freedom of speech in the West is decaying. e.g. Police have arrested more than 3,400 people for ‘offensive’ online comments in one year in the UK. Bye Bye freedom...
@@TOKYOTOYBANZAI Freedom of speech has benefits, but also several disadvantages. Unless you are in a place like Japan, people abuse freedom of speech and use it to defame others, share obscene materials, incite violence/hate speech, etc
Totally agree with everything you said. Living in Shanghai now 17 years, previously about 5 years visiting China until I decided to make the move. So happy to have my child being educated here, in the public system. Your right about newbies complaining, I simply say to them, its not wrong, its just different, embrace it. I was told before moving here a couple of points, it takes about 5 years to get in tune with the culture and to catch all the flu and cold viruses you have not been exposed to, both were correct. The bulk of my friends here now are locals, they are such great fun to be around, Chinese certainly have a great sense of humor. Life is good.
What do you think about the high level of competitiveness in Chinese schools and universities that can have a detrimental effect on upbringing, social skills etc? What is your opinion?
@@PROofHAPPYWHEELS Competition is fine, but the amount of homework and lack of outdoor or other sporting activities and social activities is something I dislike. Kids need to be kids
You're telling my own story! 13+ years here, plus 5 years of commuting from Los Angeles 4 times a year. I live in Guangdong, Zhongshan City. It's a good life.
I discovered China a few days ago for myself after my wife and I watched a wonderful Chinese film. Since then I've been in a positive rabbit hole about China and am more and more impressed by this country. Your honest video reinforces my positive impression and encourages me to consider a stay in China.
Enjoyed this upbeat video and agree with all the points. Returning to UK after a year in China, it feels like a shabby uncomfortable world, although I'm lucky enough to live in a reasonably quiet place, but the news and politics is depressing.
Thanks for the feedback. Yeah I live out in the countryside when I’m back in the UK for visits, but when I went to downtown Newcastle, I did find it a bit grim. Shops boarded up, inflation through the roof, metros and escalators broken down and signs up warning of the dangers of stealing the metro’s cables. 😢
Congratulations on the video, it is really instructive, simple and practical about life in China. There is too much Chinophobia today and it is important to spread the word about how things really are. I lived in China a long time ago, they did not have the development they have today but the spirit is the same as you point out. Since I lived there I was able to realize the potential of that country and its wonderful people, I am glad that you are doing this selfless work of disseminating the true reality, I personally appreciate it. Congratulations from Chile! 🇨🇱
I love your video. Once I retired I went to China many times, 4 to 6 weeks each time, visiting Guangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai, Jinan. I was impressed: security, nice people, great food, public parks are well maintained, so many thigs to do, enjoying the culture. Like yourself I did not care about the cameras, I felt secure and welcome. China haters do not know what they are talking about. Like the old saying ''When in Rome, act as a Roman'' Visited many countries around the world (Without guided tours) and China is my favorite country. Your kids and wife certainly appreciate your choice of living in China Cheers from Montreal, Pierre.
I like your attitude. You're essentially in someone's house and you're not interested in trying to rearrange their furniture how you like it. Rather, you're respecting them by living according to their rules. And, like you said, if one doesn't like it, the door's always there. Many Western leaders insist that any country that doesn't adopt our style of "democracy" is authoritarian. Where in the fabric of the universe is it written that the only permissible way to govern a society is Western-style "democracy"? haha. keep up the great work
Western “democracy” goes like this: “If you refused to do as we tell you to do we’re gonna invade your country, kill your leaders, and steal all of your natural resources and wealth!” That’s the “democracy” the US has been imposing on other countries for the last century!
I absolutely enjoyed watching your video all the way to the end. I must say you have done so well Snide as you speak your mind with a well balanced mindset. 12 years in China is long time as a foreigner & managed to blend into the society & on that you should be proud of yourself. Keep it up & I surely look forward to watching more videos from you.
I stuck it out for the whole video. Thanks for waxing lyrical about your thoughts and ideas about living in Southern China over the years. It’s all food for thought. Cheers mate.
When you walk on the streets in China, they are very clean. I'm in New York, and the downtown area is quite dirty, with garbage everywhere and lots of homeless people on the streets. It seems like China does many things better than the U.S in many aspects.
@sweetburger8039 That's because a lot of the middle class has moved to the suburbs leaving NYC with a higher ratio of poor people who don't care about keeping the streets clean. Look at the mean income of NYC compared to its suburbs. Then notice how clean the suburbs are even though they probably don't have street cleaning.
@Reina-vov The difference is in the US the poor congregate to cities because they have public transportation (to get to work) and more low income/Government rental units. In the suburbs (with less public transportation) if you can't afford a car your life will usually be completely miserable (which is mostly intentional to keep the poor out)
@@someuser7501that's got nothing to do with your governments failing USA and senators/mayor's. There are much better examples seen across the world of effective governments
If I was a lot younger I would seriously look at moving to China. I have been watching a lot of programs and truthful videos about China and find it is not what we were programmed into believing in our Catholic school education back then. Go China.
Hey Snide, glad I found your channel. I am really fortunate to have lived in Shenzhen for about 7 years between 2008-16, those are some of the best years in my life. Before that, I have lived in Singapore for about 22 years since birth, 15 in Canada, 2 in the US, 7-8 months in HKG. Beside Canada, I cant really say I enjoy any of these places except Shenzhen but then Canada (Greater Toronto Area) is also started to get worse when I left in 2008. In case anyone still wondering, just go to China and experience it yourself. No words are better than your own first hand experience.
I wish when mainstream media make interviews for their China documentaries, they pick people who are actually qualified to make comments. People like yourself who have lived in the country for a long time, rather than those who have not even set foot in China....
Yes. Someone who has lived in a country, learned the language, who understands the culture (at least as much as a newcomer can) is much better qualified to speak on a place.
Ignore all these anti China haters....in actual fact they are all paid by the NED ...no need to be an apologist to all these anti China haters...keep it up ... jia you...
An absolute freedom for each individual is not freedom, but anarchy. Freedom is only achievable if it is for the collective greater good but not focused on individuals.
You yell “freedom” to people with child-sized brains who don’t want to be restricted at all (forget all the laws in place in the West that already doesn’t allow for 100% freedom either) to get those gullible dumb ppl to vote for you. That’s how “democracy” works in the US. It’s just an adult version of a student body president in high school running on putting free soda machines in the hallways and making lunch 2 hrs long. Whoever is the slickest and most manipulative win. Look at Drump. Morons voting for another moron cuz he speaks their language.
One of the reason why I watch foreigner in China is the food, and they look delicious because they are so affordable. Here in the west. when you see good food, first thing in your mind is Ï can't afford that". Chian vlogers on food industry and the beautiful scenery is just a good escape for us who lives from pay check to pay check. and that damn Trudue is making it worst for most of us here.
You left out a very important fact about real Chinese food - they are generally very healthy, aside from being affordable!!! Anytime I watch channels about "western" food, it's mostly deep fried, dripping in oil, oozing out fat, and screaming of cholesterol.
Go and visit China to see China with your 2 eyes and you will realized how much you have been lied by your media and government telling Americans not to visit China because it is dangerous, dirty, you are followed and monitored everywhere you go.
@@DubboU That's quite the stereotype. You realize there is Western food that isn't deep fried right and plenty of it. All Chinese people I think western food is burgers and pizza lol.
We are Canadian Chinese who lived in Canada for over 40 to 50 years We just moved to Canton recently to retire. The financial stress, safety, drugs issues and many other problems that people have to struggle or deal with are immediately vanished as we landed in China. I was almost fear of going out either worried about being attacked or robbed. One of my friend from there of course brought up the topic of " surveillance"... I love to have the cameras everywhere so that I know it is for our best interests. We live well here in China!!!!
Thats the funniest thing with the west. Too much cctv, they say, it breach of their human rights for being constantly surveillance’s by authorities. When crime or bad things happen to them, they will say why don’t they put enough cctv to keep them safe.
Glad you came into YT feed and having lived in China for 15 years I readily agree with your observations on China! I love the country and return as often as I can. We in the West can learn SO MUCH from China instead of the US ramping up "Yellow Peril" demagoguery, starting trade wars and imposing sanctions on China! Great content and a new subscriber here!
Lets be honest, the "ramping up" is on both sides, as an American who has a Chinese wife and I splint my time between the two countries, its definatly a 2 way deal with the demagoguery... the two big dogs on the block are at going at it.
@@MrSneaksful Let's get real as well! The USA is determined to prevent China from becoming the preeminent power on earth, no doubt about it!! Also, who started the trade war in 2017 and who has a history of having started more wars than the number of years it has been in existence? Per US policy, it appears that no country other than the USA, is allowed to have its own "Monroe Doctrine". I doubt the Russians disagree with this view!!
Living and working in China for 17 years was an amazing experience. To be part of the incredible transformation of China since 2004 makes me humble and grateful. The shock came for my after my return to Germany, now a f*#ked up country.
When I saw Germany again in 2016...I was shocked. I haven't been back since and I'm sure it's gotten a lot worse since then. Most of Western Europe is in a death spiral, and the USA is also in decline.
Hello from the USA! I watched the whole video, thanks for sharing your thoughts. It was insightful and you made good points about the varying viewpoints of living in China when it comes to perceptions about freedom. I’m glad you and your family are having a wonderful time over there and I love that your boys have such a dynamic group of teachers at the international school. I’m a first year teacher this year and I’m teaching first grade.
Great content and thanks for sharing. I've lived in China a number of years and are of the opinion that if you're not breaking that law who cares who's watching. Also, those complainers are just hilarious. They come here and the honeymoon is on. Oh it's such a great wonderful place but lose that after a short period of time because they can't accept the culture or the people. It's not about getting pissed every night and having to get up in the morning to go and teach English. China's not for everybody but China is for me. I love it and can't think of being anywhere else. Cheers
Great video Snides, thanks for sharing. a refreshing change from the usual press about China. We never get to see this sort of thing really and it looks like a great clean, safe place to live. Happy for you man! And here's to hoping for that Nike SB contract 😂 can you imagine!!
Glad you enjoyed it, even if I did ramble on and go off topic! China is a lovely place to live, and I’ve barely scratched the surface with this video. Think I’ll share some more cool stuff that’s going on here. Day to day stuff.
I have been living in Guangzhou, China for nearly 24 years and I am still having such a good time. Yes, there are problems and flaws here, but on the whole, it's a great and safe place to live. I can't remember how many times I have told people; "If you're not happy here, just leave." No malice etc....., just go and find somewhere you can find your happiness. My brother in law is a bus driver and he lives on what we call a council estate. Three bedroomed flat in a building less than 6 years old, a private secured compound with schools nearby (the football pitches are immaculate), the shopping centres are good and the restaurants are really good. No litter. No matresses, no burned out bins and none of all that other rubbish. I sometimes get stopped by the police and I get asked to show my passport. A copy of it on my phone is fine nowadays. You mention the Canton Fair, are you based in Guanghou?
You’re a very honest and enlightening guy who I completely understand for having been an expat in SE Asia. I thoroughly agree with you in reference to ‘freedoms’. My mantra is that ‘freedom comes with responsibility’. The West has lost its way. End of story. Don’t have to defend yourself! Cheers John
You get on a cruise ship they check your passport and take your picture too. I often meet people from the US and Eastern Europe. They said that they don't like China because they don't want to get arrested just because they express their opinion. They are incredibly naive or misinformed. You don't get randomly arrested in China for saying the wrong thing and people don't have a tendency incite political divide. Chinese people know that harmony and stability are the key factors that keep the country solidified and moving forward. The Chinese people have enjoyed the fruit of good governance and freedom to live a safe and prosperous environment, it's only the West that's lying to its people to keep a sense of superiority in their mind.
The Western people cheat themselves for the sense of superiority. The Western governments lie because they are incapable of governing and they can't afford to let the heavily taxed people realize the reality.
If you read a summary of China history for 10 minutes, you will understand why their socieity need to be ruled by an ironfist goverment otherwise China will fall apart. The same for most East Asia country, a.k.a Korea, Japan, Vietnam.
Freedom of speech? What freedom of speech! I can’t even leave a comment about the mafia tactics of the US gov without YT blocking my comment and sometimes even warned me about doing such a thing! Look at what they did to Julian Assange and Edward Snowden for telling the truth about the US gov! They’re nothing but a bunch of liars, hypocrites, and criminals! That’s all they are!
Hello from England! This video popped up on my UA-cam homepage so I watched it, all of it, and I just subscribed! The video stuck a chord with me, especially on two topics: freedom and respect. The Brits are so strange, they share all their personal details on Facebook but are dead set against the idea of an ID card! In China children are taught civil duties such as, respecting public properties. Here even country lanes are littered with fast food packages thrown from cars and water bottles from cyclists! As for the cities, surveillance cameras are vandalised with paint, shop and restaurant windows are smashed. 🤷🏻♀️
Great video Snide... I can agree for 100%, after more then 16 years living in china. exactly how i feel and think about it. Was 2 years ago back in the Netherlands, kids sticking each other with knifes.. what the helll???

@@xucg I think what you’re referring to is school bullying which in my opinion is a different topic. But yeah, something needs to be done in our education system to shift away from being so academic centric. That being sad, other countries such as Japan also have school bullying issues.
Every coin has two sides, including all and every Western moral concept; privacy is no exception. Besides protection for criminals like child molesters, privacy is also helping bosses manage workers. Think about it: if no one knows each other's salary, is this good for the workers? Or is it good for the bosses to manage the workers? If you are a boss, you promote privacy; you tell your workers to treasure their privacy, such as wages as secrets. However, if you are a worker, you don't know your fellow workers' salaries. How is that good for you? By keeping your wage a secret to your coworkers, you are helping the boss manage yourself and your coworkers for the boss's benefit. So, privacy is invented by capitalist intellectuals to help employers manage employees. Of course, there are also intellectuals who help the workers, such as Karl Marx, who invented communism. However, workers love their capitalism and employers, and workers also love privacy. Workers hate Marx, and workers hate communism even more.
Fair play to you Snide. You are one of the only people I follow who I can listen talk about most things and do different styles of video. Would love to see you do more about your life in China alongside the market vids etc. I don’t necessarily agree with everything you say in this video but that doesn’t matter to me, I’ve watched your stuff for a while and I respect you. I can tell you are a good dude and it will be a privilege to learn about China through your eyes.
Appreciate that mate. I knew you wouldn’t, but we don’t all need to agree on everything to crack on. I agree with a lot you say on your pod, it’s why I’m subscribed. I’m of the mentality that you can pick and choose different political views - I feel like western democracy is used to divide people and put people into tribes pitted against one another. Seems people aren’t really allowed their own opinion anymore and have to go with their leader or choice. I can appreciate both systems at the end of the day. Home is where you make it. Appreciate you watching - there’ll be more random stuff like this.

Hi Mr Snide - the more that I learn about China through people living there the easier it is for me to suggest these sites to people who are stuck in their attitudes. I think I'd like to visit China but until then I'm pleased to have you and the others - some Chinese and some non Chinese - to show me this amazing country and it's people. The West needs a counterbalance in the East and for that I'm glad.

The irony of surveillance state is that it's about the same level of surveillance in USA. There are cameras everywhere but if you get in trouble or getting mugged in NYC, no cop will be around.
Indeed, looks like surveillance in China is for everyone's safety, but surveillance in the US is intended to protect the state from the people sort of.
Great video! Having traveled to China a number of times I've always been fascinated by the rapid change occurring in my cities. Maybe do a separate video on food...my favorite subject in China

Honestly, each time I visit, it amazes me how much China continues to improve. I admire their efforts to want to be better in all aspects. Really enjoyed the video as I went on an afternoon walk in Melbourne 😊
I came to the States as a student for my higher degree. I walked through a hard journey as a student, worked in different settings just to survive, for nursing and management degrees. Then I gave my best time and energy to the country... At one point I felt I was probably chasing a false dream, only until I got sick and entering my sinor year, I have finally found out it might be a nightmare.😮
You did a great video. Yes, I “stuck it out all the way” and I am so glad I did. You gave some very important info. Our son, wife and 2 years old son are there now in Shanghai. His beautiful wife is Chinese and speaks Mandarin. She was born there and has so many friends and relatives. They are traveling everywhere and having a blast. They plan on spending 2 months or more in China. I wouldn’t blame them if they decided to stay. They also are doing UA-cam videos so family in the US can see their travels. After listening to your video, I would move to China. Thank you for taking your valuable time and informing us of the nice positives about this lovely, safe and engaging country. I look forward to more videos. Cars are amazing!
I’m glad you enjoyed my video - and I’m sure it’s comforting to hear these positives from someone else, in addition to your chats with your son. It’s a good place to raise kids - and Shanghai is likely a couple steps above my small town in terms of convenience, safety, and international aspects. Thanks for watching!
Never been to China. And here I am doing DIY repair in the bathroom watching your video to the end. And I was waiting for what sneaker u were wearing for this long walk
Many westerners will not like this too. They trust the Western Media and the name Communist Party strike fears in many who don't understand that it is only a party name which no longer runs based on a communist ideology
Great video agree with you. ive been living and working in china for 18 years. It is sad to see how much the uk is getting worse when i go home to visit.

And I can see you really enjoying your time here. China is not perfect, and it won’t be. I do admire your mindset, always focusing on the positive. Peace and love.
Imo the most difficult thing about living in china is the Government not truly accepting you ( visa restrictions ) I say this as someone that has lived here for 17 years , is married to a Chinese national and has a daughter whose nationality is also Chinese. Maybe difficult isn't the correct word but inconvenient due to having do go to the PSB every couple of years to renew my residence permit , besides that " I LOVE IT. " I truly recommend everyone visit the country at least once to experience it for yourself. On the 8:13 minute mark of the video , I can't remember how many times I have had that exact exchange and answered the exact same way !
Yeah 💯 there are challenges, but I imagine we’d face issues wherever we chose to relocate to. Having said that, I’ve only visited other countries, not live in them. @@guangjoe Yes, you are 100% every place would have its challengers. Ye I have a channel , nothing special though. I just make some videos when I have time to try and show people China is maybe different to what they have been told.
@@Ginyiwei It is not about citizenship as most foreigners I would imagine don't want to become Chinese citizens which by the way is becoming easier if you tick enough boxes. It's more about permanent residence which most countries grant if you have family in or have contributed to the country over a selected time frame. I would think a change from 2 years to minimum 5 for a family visa and maybe a 2 year work visa for those curious about China would be a good start. In saying all that the visa process now is much easy than a decade or two ago but still an inconvenience for some as not every person lives in a place that has a PSB down the road.
@@chinathesideyoudontsee8157 I totally agree with you on the visa restriction and being made to feel unChinese with the constant red tape e.g. being unable to buy train tickets online like the Chinese can and having to attend to anything in person at the station with your passport. As an American, I hope our country will move in the same direction as China. As in investing more into safety and security and improving all our city’s/ cost of living, homelessness etc, I think the cameras everywhere publicly is very smart security. Our government just blows all our money into military instead of its own people’s well being.
Long time no see. I used to watch some of your videos to find out good batches for rep sneakers and now I'm suddenly here, watching your video on living in China, when I all those years ago really wondered what the hell you were even doing there. Now, I am the one who recently picked up studying Mandarin and am foreseeing a future of living in China. You knew it all along!
Greta to have you here! The sneaker stuff is still happening, but I’m moving it over to a separate channel bit by bit. How are the Chinese studies going?
Hey Snide, I have watched the whole video! Glad to hear that you enjoy your life here and I do appreciate your positive attitude which can definitely make your life happier. Please also share your thoughts about China with your friends and relatives in the UK in case they are "brainwashed" by the media and politicians there. Thanks!!
It's so amazing to see the local people are working hard to promote their traditions and the uniqueness. No matter what, Chinese people are non-stoply, are trying hard to make their living environment better and better. We shouldn't ignore the efforts which Chinese people are making. Welcome more foreign friends to come to visit China! You will see China is not a threat or a dangerous country as what your government is trying to tell you. 💖 Peace! 🤗
@@guangjoe With that many surveillance cameras, the US has managed to have the world's largest prison population, amounting to a full 1% of its total population, in addition to out-of-control crime, never ending mass shootings, so I guess all those surveillance cameras worked really well
@snide. he's not telling the whole story. The vast majority of the cameras in the US are not controlled by the government/police. They are owned by businesses or homeowners. For instance doorbell cameras are pretty ubiquitous and so are cameras in stores. Outside in the streets they are almost nonexistent except for intersections with lots of car accidents.

Thanks for portraying a different angles about China. You just got a new admirer and hello from Kelowna, BC Canada.
Lived China and US both for 20 years each, I have to say the one thing I m very happy about China is the safety, in US i barely go out to enjoy the night life, the barely means almost to none.
Really enjoyed your video and a different perspective than some other foreigners in China which are always related to negative things. And a nice jump into reflections on how to live not just in China but anywhere. Cheers.
I like what you said about having to represent yourself well. What an amazing country and place to raise a child. I think you are very lucky sir. I appreciate how people there don't riot, break things, vandalize, etc... You can't walk or drive anywhere in downtown Houston without seeing vandalized structures, etc. This is just so much safer and cleaner than it is in the US. What an amazing post. All your points are right on sir.

Or even worse, from Western "News" programs.
thank you. I think it’s very easy to consume too much news in one sitting and be convinced that things are awful. It’s all about having a critical eye and thinking about the media’s purpose behind their news.
Greetings from London, UK. Really enjoyed your video and fascinating to hear about your experiences within China. I don’t read anything in the media as you get such a one sided opinion. Yours however shows a really great insight into the country that some revere and others are scared of. I’m here to learn more about China, so I’m here with you through subscribing to your channel. Looking forward to seeing your contents in he future. Xi xi.
The irony of surveillance state is that it's about the same level of surveillance in USA. There are cameras everywhere but if you get in trouble or getting mugged in NYC, no cop will be around.
A large number of cameras means stable security. If you are robbed, the police can catch the criminal within an hour, relying on these cameras.
I dont get why Westerners fear surveilance in a public place? Do you want to something shady?
Indeed, looks like surveillance in China is for everyone's safety, but surveillance in the US is intended to protect the state from the people sort of.

The best educative Vlog ever! Thanks for sharing! I am really looking forward to visit China in the near future!
Your entire walk during your video is very peaceful
Great video! Having traveled to China a number of times I've always been fascinated by the rapid change occurring in my cities. Maybe do a separate video on food...my favorite subject in China
the true freedom you can only experience in China , no need to worry about your safety , no drugs , no crimes , no gun shots , you can do whatever you feel pleased to do at anytime as long as you dont break the law . Even a young pretty girl can walk along in the park during night time , no harrass , no rapist , no homeless people , pure harmony .
Yes and the fact that they have the same amount of face reconizing CCTV as their population means you can not escape the crime you did
Any east asian monoculture. Plus you can use international apps without a vpn and get quality produce unlike in PRC.
Can you sell me a VPN?
Can't do that in the U.S!
I am from Germany. For me english is also a foreign language I had to learn. I think for children these days learning multiple languages is a very good thing
I could not believe I stuck out your whole video! Watching your vedio from Pennslyvania, USA. Your honesty and sincerity insights made me enjoy your "rumblings"!😅😊😊👍👍👍
Really enjoyed your video! Thank you very much! Great positive attitude to life! It really helped me to stop being negative all the. Love from Malaysia!🇲🇾❤🇨🇳❤🏴
Keep on walking and thinking then sharing with your viewers.
Yeah it’s a nice format, even if people don’t watch…it’s therapeutic. Nothing like a walk in the park by yourself.
I really enjoyed your video and honestly I really respect your life philosophy toward your surrounding. What more can I say and all I have to say is keeping the same attitude and your life will be much happier. Writ Large!
I watched all your video good stuff keep them coming you have a great outlook on life agree with you100% uk is so broken .
I enjoyed watching this guy.I stayed until the end.If I was younger I would definitely go and see China.
Great video Snide keep it going! ❤👏🏽
BRILLIANT thoughts and mindset!
Thanks for sharing! Stay POSITIVE, man!!
I look forward to more of your videos!
Wow bird chirping in background in city area. I supposed the ecosystem is marvelous.
I enjoyed watching your whole video and admire your positive energy. I have just subscribed your channel. Thank you, mate.
China is a great country, glad you are enjoying it too. Keep up the good work and live postively👍
100% with you on security issues
Hey Snide, this is the first time I've watched your videos. I agree with your points having been to China on many occasions over the last few decades.
Good vibes. Sat through the whole ramble. Keep it up!
Thanks man! Appreciate that.
I have watched your video all the way through.
Very positive and balanced view.
Thank you for sharing your experiences.
Never been to China. And here I am doing DIY repair in the bathroom watching your video to the end.
And I was waiting for what sneaker u were wearing for this long walk
Good stuff, glad I could help pass the time. I rocked the Salehe Bembury crocs actually! Very comfortable
Western media ain't gonna to be happy about this.
毕竟真像才是快刀
Many westerners will not like this too. They trust the Western Media and the name Communist Party strike fears in many who don't understand that it is only a party name which no longer runs based on a communist ideology
Great video agree with you. ive been living and working in china for 18 years. It is sad to see how much the uk is getting worse when i go home to visit.
I'm really impressed with the quality of your video. The sound, the image quality, and the digital video stabilisation are nuts.
One of the best videos about China. Great job for not only you give a quite objective view about China, but also showing a really good manner. Thank you. And I can see you really enjoying your time here. China is not perfect, and it won’t be. I do admire your mindset, always focusing on the positive. Peace and love.
Great comment, appreciate you. No bias here, just sharing my positive thoughts
From your username - I’m guessing you have a channel or content on this? I’m replying from studio app so can’t click on. Will check it out later 👌
@@guangjoe Yes, you are 100% every place would have its challengers. Ye I have a channel , nothing special though. I just make some videos when I have time to try and show people China is maybe different to what they have been told.
China is not a country of immigrants, and it is extremely difficult to obtain Chinese citizenship, with only a thousand successful cases in decades
@@chinathesideyoudontsee8157
I totally agree with you on the visa restriction and being made to feel unChinese with the constant red tape e.g. being unable to buy train tickets online like the Chinese can and having to attend to anything in person at the station with your passport.
I'm Chinese, born in old favoured colony, now u Malaysian, Anglised and settling down in the UK. as though Chinese is my mother tongue, my first language is English. I can speak fairly good Mandarin, and some Hokkien and Cantonese but I'm only proficient in English... above native. Fluency but with an Oxbridge accent and a faint Malaysian voice tone.
I ve always felt at home in the UK and I can empathise with any radical groups - right, left , black and ethnicminority... But not the extremists.
I feel perfectly at home in the UK which accept my nationality as British.
I would hate to live in China I love so much whose govt. I share my deepest affiliations and whose people With whom I have the most profound empathy and love.

As an American, I hope our country will move in the same direction as China. As in investing more into safety and security and improving all our city’s/ cost of living, homelessness etc, I think the cameras everywhere publicly is very smart security. Our government just blows all our money into military instead of its own people’s well being.
The White House spent 800B USD in military per year and blame China for their military "overexpand"
💖 Peace! 🤗
Liked, subscribed.
Yeah, I watched until the end.
Because I wanted to know why you stayed on in China. And it sounds like you made a good choice.
nice video man. it was heartwarming hearing about your life as a dad and raising kids in China
Per capita, there are more surveillance cameras in America than in China, so there's that
Interesting indeed. How are they helping do you think?
so as London , where the 1st city with cameras in the world
@@guangjoe With that many surveillance cameras, the US has managed to have the world's largest prison population, amounting to a full 1% of its total population, in addition to out-of-control crime, never ending mass shootings, so I guess all those surveillance cameras worked really well
@snide. he's not telling the whole story. The vast majority of the cameras in the US are not controlled by the government/police. They are owned by businesses or homeowners. For instance doorbell cameras are pretty ubiquitous and so are cameras in stores. Outside in the streets they are almost nonexistent except for intersections with lots of car accidents.

I do benefit of your opinion about life.
I am kind of collected person but still sometime affected by other's sentiments.
You make me rethink of my attitude about life.
Thank u!
Yes,I am chinese, it's more convicent and correct for me to express my gratitude in Chinese.

That a equal deal.
It’s one thing to share my ideal reaction to adversity, but another altogether to actually employ this mindset at all times. I wish I could say I’m always calm and collected, but that would be a lie. We can only try our best, and the next day, do better.
Ivd been to China many years ago ..what a changed since and thank you for your well educate and spot on life living in China
Jia you🙏🇦🇺
I've been in China only 3 years, and I already got used to all the advantages of this place. When I visit Europe I need to raise my guards up.
You got a new subscriber here simply for expressing your honest opinion. Cheers!
Awesome recording and thank you for all the great points. I went to China earlier this year and I was very impressed and will definitely be going again. Keep up with the great work 👍
i watched the whole video, enjoyed and just subscribed it. I like your positive attitude in your life. Yes so much negativities and sh*t about China here in Canada too where i'm currently living.
Cheers.
Glad you enjoyed it!
