Enjoyed the video, I’m a boat owner and still watched it to see if I could learn anything. Really glad you pointed out cleaning the trash out of your boat for the safety of others behind you on the road. Keep it up 😁

Thank you for your video. I have been launching/retrieving a 24' runabout for decades. I learned a few things, but the point you brought up a few times; when there is no current and no wind, this job is a lot easier than if either wind or current exists. Also when the ramp is close to to the dock to hop back and forth also makes it a lot easier.

I think this was actually very well done.. and nice touch on making sure boaters check their boat for trash, basic clean up and pre-departure inspection before leaving the ramp. I teach people in my area how to do all this and thought this video would be a great tool.

I use to have a 30 footer and a two axel trailer and one of the things I did was grease the hubs after getting the trailer and boat home.
Great video on loading a boat solo I use to do it a majority of time by myself pretty much the same way as you did.

I definitely appreciated this video. I suppose I'd call myself a seasoned boater at least in regards to trailering being that every time for the past 22 years we take out our boat I'm either driving the boat, backing the trailer up, or all of the above. Albeit it's a much smaller boat at just 21ft, I live in a area where there are really only two small lakes power boat friendly within a 1/2 hour drive in a population of a million plus so a lake with 1 boat ramp and 3 lanes is n definitely busy and people are always watching so you have to know what your doing....Awesome video because I love to learn from other boaters even though I've been doing it so long, not every boat/truck/suv is the same of course and it's interesting to see how people do things.

Tomorrow I am going to help a buddy get his 36 Yellowfin on a trailer and it is not going to be anything like your video. Mainly because the trailer is not set up right. That is key. Your trailer is set up perfect. I am sending this video to him right now and maybe the next time we pull it out it won't be a nightmare.

Great video. I live on Cudjoe. Can't wait to get back from the Middle East this summer. Love that Contender buddy. I drive seized drug smuggling vessels for my civilian job so I hear you on the trailering emphasis. My coworkers are terrified of driving our boats on a trailer. It is not hard... confidence and experience are everything. Nice channel. Makes me wish I was home. In about three months, I will be focusing on buying another boat. Keep up the great attitude. The subscribers will come...

Great video ... I use your techniques with my Edegewater 205 Ex and don’t have problems loading and unloading my boat. The only thing that I do differently is that I walk my boat on the trailer further than you do to reduce the distance that I I have to negotiate with power.

Great info. Another couple quick ideas to get into the habit of. I always unhook safety chains last. You should al always scotch wheels anyway but if your trailer is going to roll away on you at least the chains are still on. Another is get in the habit of touching your wheel hubs. After a long trip they may get warm but as bearings start to wear out the hub will get hot. Getting used to the temperature is key. I also recamend a nice spare with extra hub and bearings built in.

Very clean set up. I have never owned a salt water boat. Although freshwater has it challenges as well, mostly inexperienced boaters driving too fast or not knowing boating etiquette. I feel like salt water boat owners definitely know more about boating since the dangers are much greater if you don’t.

Great video. We launch off the beach and through the surf, but many of the same lessons apply. One very NB thing is to make sure you get your act together before you start taking up space on a ramp of busy beach, and how you took your boat away from the ramp to do your final checks.
A little courtesy for others goes a long way in situations where you are busy.
Most of us have a front tow hitch and winch our boats off the beach onto the trailer. I am not sure why more guys that side don't put on front tow hitches as it makes manuvering the trailer a breeze. Our boats are usually quite a bit smaller at around 15-23ft and not many above 24/25ft that surf launch.

He made a great point about not worrying with this weight and a 2500. Tow ratings are a safe estimates to cause no damage to vehicles basically. A lot of the ratings are just from the truck being able to pull say 20k 0-60 in a certain time.

That little pin that keeps the coupler from popping open--people take them all the time, I use one with a key lock on it. Also, for what it is worth, never boat alone, IMO. Boating is all about "redundancy" two or more of everything--and not just ONE of you. "Post a full time lookout" as you run and you can't do that if there is in fact, just one. That look out backs you up, a second set of eyes, to pay attention and a sharp watch. That of course just one reason to not boat alone. And honestly, these days, unless you are far more well to do than 99 percent of us, sharing the fuel bill is a good idea--no, not a safety issue I do realize.

I used to trailer a 35ft everglades and that's the biggest I have ever trailered and the most important thing I have to say about loading a big boat is how steep a ramp is. A very steep ramp is the hardest part to getting your boat straight on the trailer because you only have the front of the bot touching the trailer. But other than dealing with that big boat on a good trailer isn't bad. I hauled mine from near Atlanta ga to the keys, st. Augustine, Venice LA so I put some miles on it

Nice to see how things are done elsewhere in the world, here in UK the max you can legally tow is 7700lbs, even if you had your Jimmy.
I think we would consider 24 foot as the maximum boat size to tow here, most anglers keeping to 16/17 foot, and a 60hp engine seems quite a high output outboard.......
Oh and its never THAT calm here, or as clear.
Mind you we can't fish at all currently unless we can walk or cycle to our venue!

What is great about this country is anyone has the opportunity to have this lifestyle. You won't get there by focusing on instant gratification. I am like a lot of others here; in construction. Since a young teen and have had a business over 35 years. As a business owner you get the fruits of your labor. The best tip is don't think you know everything when you are young. Surround yourself with smart successful people. Then...you have to let your money work for you. Start a business you like with the skills you are good at. You can be the best in your field but if you are working for someone you are making them rich.
