    I have now had about a 20 + MT51’s.
I have destroyed about 6 of them, mostly side walls (I drive in some harsh terrain). The ones that survive get about 70 to 80 K before hitting the tread wear indicators. Currently I have about 20 tyre plugs across my 8 in service tyres (2 on my trailer) including some minor side wall punctures (yep I know you shouldn’t but I have never had a problem repairing minor sidewall damage) and they hold up well.
You MUST rotate as often as possible. I left a couple on the front for approx 20 to 30 K and they feathered (and got very very noisy). Lesson learnt, they now live on my trailer. For the price they meet all my expectations and requirements. Previously ran Coopers and Micky Thompson’s (which I destroyed just as easy). But now I save $100+ every time I replace a tyre.

The sidewall strength is key. Thanks for the review.

I run these on My Hilux and found that they do lack a bit on wet roads. The ute is definitely more tail happy in the wet with these tyres than it was in the past with different tyres. Aside from that though they are a great all round set of tyres.

Yeah I've got the at51 Kumho all terrains very happy with them, good value for money.

Yeah...I feel a little let down with the staking of the sidewalls, but if the price was right I’d probably still get them.

One of the best set of tires I've ever owned. I'll most likely get another set for my next Jeep WJ Overland build. Right now I'm running Cooper Stt Pros and they are awesome off road but I drive a long way to get off road so it's back to what worked for me. I'll never buy Goodyears ever again because of political reasons. FJB

Great tyre review well done🎉Possibly one that has not been mention and is bullet proof in my opinion and is an aggressive all terrain is the Goodyear Dura tek..Not cheap but Quality is normally not 😊

The only agressive all terrain I've seen get stuck on wet grass. Overpriced junk and never again

Spot on. I have a set of x5 mt51s with 20000kms and have barley worn.

I found the side tread quite open imo and the side bitters to let mud stick to them easily, this was fitted to a holden rodeo think 215/75 r16

Kumho MT71 is coming out in January, 2020. Might be worth a look.

    Hi Mate
Love your videos. Don't get the cooper st with armour walls. Yes there good for hwy with little noise and great i mud. I have stacked a tyre after 500km which was on a root down at esperance. You get good wear out of them but sand the tyre will not bulge till you let them delow 15 psi. I have had heaps of trouble on sand. I run a 2007 rv toyota cruzer tray back ute. It has a turbo 4.2 L so heaps of power. Catch yar if you head down Albany way again.
    Cheers

Cheers Keith....Yeah I’ve got my eyes on a few options and luckily Coopers aren’t on it (too much $$$). I’ll be down that way again hopefully, will try and give you the heads up.

    Sorry for my English:
Did I understand correctly that you have driven 70.000 km?? Or it was 17.000??? For those two years

I haven’t seen them in the states.

Interesting - I’ve seen them throughout Aus and Asia.....seems a bit strange they wouldn’t import them to the states.

Got a set (5) of 33x12.5r15 from simpletire.com for $185 each. Taller, narrower and lighter than the Cooper mtp they replaced. 15x8 rim on a 04 TJ.

Lucas Volker I’ve run Coopers they are American made and owned company. I run Mickey Thompson Deegan 38 MTs. Won’t run anything else on my ‘05 6.0 Excursion or ‘87 Surburban.

Dont get the pirelli MTR they are a great (OFF-ROAD) tyre... and they have a great strong side wall on road they are ok but you wont get more then 60000ks out of then even while rotating them... but i havent really had problems with them i have them on a jeep wrangler unlimited in a 285/70/17. They are a nice tire in the sand but load on road. They are a nice tyre but i would say there are better options

Thanks Terence - I’ve got a shortlist....the Pirelli isn’t on it, haven’t even looked at them.....thanks for the heads up.

you said they got staked in tre sides, what AT tyre will you go for to prevent this?

I’ve gone for the Toyo RT’s this time around, based off the same carcass as the MT’s which have a reputation as a really strong side wall, not as aggressive as the MT’s but the RT’s are still more aggressive than your traditional all terrains.
