Fun Fact: In the movie Web of Shadows when Norik talks about Keetongu Onewa replies with "Key to Nongu?". In german however, Onewa replies with "Wer spielt Bongo?", translated "Who is playing Bongo?". I always found that to be hilarious!
"What you fail to see with your two eyes, Ketongu can see with his one." -Rahaga Norik. But seriously, this set is pretty neat. I think the position of the Rhotunka firing is like him hunching down, and the head design helps it look not all too awkward.
I remember Keetongu being my first ever Bionicle titan, I absolutely adored the cyclops robot-like head, and seeing him today just overwhelms me with nostalgia. I usually ended up taking my Bionicles apart and building big MOC titans with my dad, but this guy never came apart, he had a permanent place on my shelf
Oh no... the Inika are approaching... Most likely, you're going to tear through them like a hot knife through butter, Eljay. What a shame. The Inika are epic. Who couldn't love fancy light-up weapons?
Keetongu, bastion before overwatch, he a robot with one eye, can become shorter and have a projectile launcher come out of his chest, and hes big just like bastion.
I honestly find most of the cons to be somewhat moot, they help with the strange and unusual vibe he gives off which is a plus and he's one of my fav titans.
Keetongu is one of my all time favorite Bionicle sets. I even made some mods to improve his design such as giving him actual hands using silver Onua claws. I would have kept him built if I didn't like his combination with Roodaka even more so. The Shadowed One is my favorite Bionicle combiner.
I remember waking up 2 hours before having to leave to school and making my own breakfast only to be able to build/work on this lil guy for 45 mins before having to get ready to go. Great times.
Well, the chest function stops working properly if you keep it follded up but I wouldn't count that as a con since that's the result of wear and tear on the long elastic piece that pushes it out.
I just him yesterday off ebay (im trying to complete 2005 i only need the other two titans, the special editions, and the rahaga) how i would fix his left arm would be to take a toa metru forearm(grey) put it in the exposed arm socket then add a grey hand piece and finally a Pahrak shield in keet orange(because it looks like a hand with fingers) i think that would of been better in my opinion. As for his head keep the hand head, add a longer axle, take his front shoulder armor connected by that black piece take both pieces together and slide the top hole onto the axle, then put the tube and a blue eye piece back on. It honestly sorta looks like his movie counterpart.
@@pugmasterben lol I dug him up to reply to this comment. Yes I used the silver Toa Nuva shoulder pads, they match with his spinning shields pretty good. I also modded his legs to give him the support "rods" most titans had 2006 and beyond.
i upgraded my 2004 and 2005 titans to look like the actual characters themselves and toa hordika have the function on both arms. made keetongu taller and slightly bulky but has no function has possnle fingers and thumb.Roodaka slightly shorter has actual hands again having posable fingers and sidoak has no sword thingy has hands on both arms and slight body modification as a result they look pretty good on the shelf and the parts that were removed were put in the parts box
So... its a good set or not? Cuz I get two of them at a ridiculously cheap price, sealled and the conditions of the boxes r perfect... I think the grandma that sold me the Keetongus was high or something. Two only for 35 bucks, Damn Im lucky, and yes It was a yard sale.
To be fair to Eljay, as many people disagree about his "Nervous Pin Disposition", it is a problem. Blue and red pins annoy the HECK out of me. They don't make or break a set for me, but the worst kind of pin is an uncovered pin....
It is for me. I thought I just had to restart my computer to fix it but its still freezing at 1:50. Ok found out why. Stupid video won't play in 480p. The quality I like to watch all videos in.
@@Blue-Rain You can make a complete build, still functional, with zero gaps. I'm not talking about Gen 2 Bionicle either. My current build has so much bulk and fill that it looks solid and looks like something that is actually living. Super large piece count of mostly small technic, and about 22 points of articulation in just the torso alone. I'm almost done it too, just need a couple hundred more pieces.
About the thigh armour: I've always built the foot curved side up, but after searching through google, it's either curved side-up, or strangely one of each side on each thigh XD (look at the official picture which showcases him firing his rhotouka!)
What bugs me is that while his movie version looks much better in almost every aspect, what with having proper arms and shoulder armorr...unfortunately his head was too humanized. I like how stark his cyborg eye is in the set...the movie makes him look Vietnamese.
I've never called that color "Keetorange" because it's obviously more yellow than orange, and I dislike that term because of it. I just called it "new yellow" because it generally replaced the old color of yellow plastic they used to use
He would be way too expensive for Lego to sell to kids. and plus they didint even have the pistons for support in 2005 so thare is no way he would be able to stand.
hey, lj, instead of basing your reviews on pros and cons, how bout a more speculative and observative approach? It would certainly add alot of interesting material Im sure viewers would appreciate. Talking about great building techniques, reasons why a figure is flawed playability wise, yknow just miscellaneous things like that would add alot of life to the review. Not that your video formula is bad or anything, it's just something that could be improved upon with maybe five or ten more minutes that focus on things besides pros and cons. Maybe a backstory commentary segment, that would be nice.
Thank you for the suggestion! That is a really great idea, and I would incorporate it if it wasn't for a few things. 1. At this stage, I've gotten through nearly a full five years of Bionicle using the review system I use now. I feel the sudden change would be a tad jarring for anyone that might be accustomed to how it is now. 2. I'm not very well versed with what defines a great building technique. A lot of Bionicle sets have great designs, and the titans are all really great in how they are built. 3. Time is also another factor. I'm a little unsure wither or not people would prefer longer or shorter videos. I don't try to shoot for any particular time. Granted, they normally end up being shorter so that people get the gist of it. Now, aside from those things, I have been trying to include story-related info as well as playability views into the reviews. It's a tad difficult, since at the end of the day, I'm still talking about the set. The story has absolutely no effect on how the set functions. However, I understand it's quite important, and I'm going to be bringing it up quite a bit more, I assure you. Once again, thank you very much for the suggestions! You have actually given me a few ideas, and I shall continue to take what you have said into account!
6:20 but.... you can just take that part of as well.... that’s not even a con, it practically invites you to take it off, yo I could just leave it on the ripcord.
Between the rotating shield blade and the hidden chest-mounted Rhotuka blaster, I've always loved this guy. Also, "Keet orange" is a wonderfully cute name for a color. Doubly so if you're a Troper- tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Keet

In the movie Web of Shadows when Norik talks about Keetongu Onewa replies with "Key to Nongu?". In german however, Onewa replies with "Wer spielt Bongo?", translated "Who is playing Bongo?". I always found that to be hilarious!
In Norwegian, Onewa's reply was "Litt klip på tunga?" rougly translating to "A little pinch on the tongue?"
“One con is, when you remove a piece, it has open pegs.”
When I first saw this, I was like "there's no way he said that" and then he did
I just bought this set from a garage sale for $5. It was only missing the eye piece. I was so excited.
The stud or the bucket?
It even had the spinner disk?
I also got him at Garage sale for 6 € the only thing that are missing are the Rhotuka and Cord and the instructions.
I was so happy when i got him.
I love how Roodaka and Keetongu's weapons fold when they're done with action.
i recently realized none of the titans of 05 had hands
***** i mean the regular old hand piece.
2005 was a strange year for Bionicle.
Incredibeast But an incredible one, too.
Incredibeast You are christian aren't you?
Fluffy McWolf Yes, why?
Looks like Darth Vader was practicing chopping off hands.
Heheh
i got this as a present in 2005 christmas and i remember being the happiest kid ever
nice!!
Me tooo ;D
And that's how "keet-orange" was created.
A character so influencial, he made a new colour and had it named after him, essentially immortalizing him in the Bionicle universe.
"What you fail to see with your two eyes, Ketongu can see with his one."
-Rahaga Norik.
But seriously, this set is pretty neat. I think the position of the Rhotunka firing is like him hunching down, and the head design helps it look not all too awkward.
"Keetongu sees with one eye what we have missed with all of ours!"

That's closer to the quote. :P

Just bought this guy off of Bricklink, excitement=hard to contain.
cheap or xpensive?
about the same price he was when he first released.
+jayheich Nice!!!
i really liked this guy
Oh no... the Inika are approaching... Most likely, you're going to tear through them like a hot knife through butter, Eljay.
What a shame. The Inika are epic.
Who couldn't love fancy light-up weapons?
Sidorak was the biggest fool ever in the story. He pretty much let his girlfriend seduce another man (being Vakama).
Not to mention that she was cheating on him with teridax.
Roodaka was a slut lol. Oh Bionicle, sending a bad message to the fans. Even the figure itself was over-feminen.
Incredibeast
You gotta admit the set's boobs were pretty creative, though.
bmrjw Yeah. XD
Dakota Conn Why do I see a bionicle reality show spawning from this?
Keetongu, bastion before overwatch, he a robot with one eye, can become shorter and have a projectile launcher come out of his chest, and hes big just like bastion.
Man I freaking love Keetongu!!!!!!! One of the best characters from 2005!!!!
The key to Nongu?
+Combustiblemonguy In the movie web of shadows, when Norik says keetongu for the first time, Onewa asks "the key to nongu?"
The Wenitos

Way to ruin it -_-

+Combustiblemonguy Looked more like a question than a joke, your fault lol

The Wenitos Actually I just remembered it was Matau that said it.
I absolutely love his design. I think his head looks really cool and his firing position is a super cool feature.

Sorry type "Lee-Tongu"

why dos it freeze at 1:53 dose this happen to anyone else
Where do you see in the movie Keetongu has 2 eyes behind the singular eye? In that movie his blue eye is very much hus real eye
He looks like loaderbot from Borderlands
"The key to nongu?"
"Keetongu!"
The intro was absolute comedy gold, come on.
I have three of this set and I never actually built him, I just used him for the combiners.
really key to nongu pun or ramdom thought

Eb!t:inspired the minion design
the only titan with a simpler arm is krekka, with a total of 6 pieces for both arms, but he gets a break because his arms didn't have open sockets
6:43 "This is unusual" XD

+TechSupportII hell yeah.
+TechSupportII It was an old woman. Maybe his son left a lot of stuff in her house... Also... I get a Toa Iruni and Vakama Hordika sealled!

I apparently had that one, so I plan on buying it (lost most of the parts)
Is anyone else's video freezing at about 1:50?

The Key to Longu????
Why are the exposed sockets and joints a con (and gappiness)
It makes the set look unfinished. Like it isn't a complete build. Why pay money for something that is only half done?

Roodaka?
Very Star Wars pit droid like
Keetongu is so cool
GET IT? MANGO? ELJAY? FUNNY. FUNNY.
the open sockets look like tiny hands
Yes starts with a K like my name, plus I like the design.
Ignika were really good and it wasn't their fault they just used the same build forever
I see no cons with this, Keetongu is peak male preformence
What could thy freakin' put on Keetongu's left arm?! Maybe his rotuhka spinner idk!
How is Keetongu even considered a Rahi when he can walk on two legs and talk?
10/10 set in my opinion
For me, there's far more yellow than orange in this guy's main color, so I personally can't really call it Keetorange.
For some reason this reminds me of the yellow devil form megaman.
Keetungu in a nutshell. Keetungu
