However, God had mercy on me when I was in darkness, so despite the heart condition of the people in this nation, I will also have mercy on them and continue to speak God's truth to them. Maybe, they will come to their senses and turn back to the LORD for healing. The apostle Paul wrote many letters to churches for their correction, like 1 Corinthians. Why? LOVE. Love hopes. Love tries to reason with people. Love takes the heat and begs people to reconsider and turn back to God. Love even rebukes if that is what is necessary. The scriptures say, open rebuke is better than hidden love. (proverbs chapter 27) When I ask God to humble people, I am not seeking vengeance.
