I love this boss fight. Yeah, it's simple, repetitive QTE stuff but if you look past it to what's actually going on. No way is Titus gonna let the ground kill Nemeroth before he does!
Titus is one of my favourite loyal Space Marines ever and the only cool Ultramarine out there. I made a Deathwatch Killteam for the Tabletop, led by Titus to continue the story and honor the game
I read THQ was going to do a sequel of this before they went bankrupt or whatever, with Titus being really pissed off with the Imperium for what he had to go through with the inquisition coming just short of outright heresy and basically founding his own chapter. I hope another company picks this game up because that would make for an interesting story!

yeah, or maybe he is a "blank" meaning he inherits the Pariah gene which makes him immune against the warp. But from a pure storytelling perspective, the point of the ending wasn't that Titus was falling into chaos. If he was, they would have given us a hint or shown it in some way. The whole point of the ending sort of diminishes if he was a badguy all along doesn't it? the sequel would have most likely been about Titus proving everyone wrong.
Well there is something you did not understand as it seems. Listen again what Nemeroth says at 6:56 "if it takes a thousand years I will rise again and take my vengeance" ... so obvious that he didn't die completely. At this point he already knew Titus will defeat him so he's saying that he will take revenge... even if it will take a thousand years for him to return. And why you hear his laughter while he is vanishing? Why he vanishes at all? This says his transformation was complete :-)
Servants of the emperor are blind or weak or both, they just delay the inevitable,as a Chaos Sorceror said. "And what are the achievements of your fragile Imperium? It is a corpse rotting slowly from within while maggots writhe in its belly. It was built with the toil of heroes and giants, and now it is inhabited by frightened weaklings to whom the glories of those times are half-forgotten legends. I have forgotten nothing, and my wisdom has expanded far beyond mere mortal frailties.
I think you could also make a spin off of this with the Blood Angels and have a story line with a captain or someone starting to fall to the Black Rage. Just a thought.
@Inlesse There Is NO Handheld Space Marine Lasgun Version. Lascannon is a heavy weapon that is fired from the shoulder and requires a large backpack with ammo. Just google the lascannon if you don't know how it looks.
@proasa123 Entirely possible. It'd explain his mysterious resistance... or not, since psykers are prone to possession. Maybe his resistance stems from some variant of the Pariah gene (though not the "full" version, or the Chaos Lord wouldn't be able to affect him AT ALL), or just iron will. But I tend to think you're right, that Titus is a latent psyker at the very least.
@lambdacstrikesback You're right, though sometimes daemonhammers ARE "loaned" to other Space Marines and/or Inquisitors in times of need. There aren't many daemonhammers, either... maybe a dozen in an entire sector of the galaxy, according to fluff. So there could be less than 100 in the entire Imperium.
This game doesn't get the praise it deserves. I beat it start to finish 5 times not counting the many times I played certain chapters over or started from different points to beat it.
And did you read the ultramarine books? In one of the first three books there it's described what it mean (I think it was calles "dark sky, black sun"): a space ship travels through warp... suddenly the hull breached and warp stormed into the ship. Every human who touched it got his flesh ripped of his body, only leaving bones on the ground. The videogame means this kind of warp contact I'm talking about. That power cell is pure warp power. A normal human would instantly die when touching it.
That's right... we don't see any clue in this game. But what I said could be an idea for the second part, because many people would like to play as chaos marine.
no, absolutely not immune. Any Marine can fall into the hands of chaos if his mind is not resilient enough. It would be cool if there were two diferent story modes, one Space Marine, on Chaos Marine.
@117ty There won't be a next game due to numerous reasons. Space Marines didn't sell well-enough to generate a profit. THQ also is in the shitter in their financial department- so they're unable to fund any new projects, let-alone even existing ones (They're coming by scarely atm due to firing approximately 240 staff members and cutting the CEO's salary by 50%) so yeah.... an disapointing ending in the end, would have loved to see a sequel.
And the last scene before credits would be Astorath's sorrowful face as he performs his duty and redeems the lost hero that gave in to the black rage. Them feels.
Zachary Mumme Even the first enemy in the game- the Elite in the lift shaft- was harder than the final boss. At least his quick-time event required two button presses.
The final boss in Halo 4 was literally 3 button presses. At least I get to feel like I'm beating Nemeroth's skull in in his final quick time event. Halo 4 you are just like boop, boop, boop DONE!
Well you can get in contact with warp energy and you can get influenced by chaos. Contact is only physical, influence is a mental aspect. A deamon can strenghten your bad thoughts and break your loyalty and turn you to the evil side. This is done by subtle methods. What I talked about is warp exposure. Warp is something touchable... and if you touch it you normally die. Space marines can absorb warp energy. You ever played Fire Warrior? That red stuff in the later levels is warp material.
Grimskull was more fun than this. Hell, the Stompa in the arcade game teasing this game was more fun than this. You know someone f*cked up when the final boss of the teaser game is better and more fun than the final boss of the console game.
the funny thing is that while I played this, it always displayed me something like "O" or "Q" instead of "f" button. Probably, it was actually "no char" symbol. "Mouse 1" and "space" keys were displayed okay though. so... I didn't know what key to hit until I watched this video.
The damage taken in the PC version of a game is often higher than that in console versions. i.e. Normal mode can look like hard mode when watching the damage done by enemies. This is done for balancing purposes. Mouse + keyboard + faster responses (fps etc) + resolution = easier to DO damage to enemies = balance this by making enemies do more damage to you.
If there a way to turn that off? It makes the game nearly unplayable on PC. I literally cannot stop dying no matter how many different ways I go about this battle.
Maybe, but he can't deny it at all... I mean, someone who posses the power to protect everyone's soul across the galaxy, even in that state... That's really Godlike
Necrons... Those guys with their insane firepower are nearly unstopable. I really consider them and the Tyranids as the most dangerous threat to the Mankind or the galaxy (Not to mention Chaos because that's just an eternal enemy who will always be there, and it feeds with both victory and defeat). I would like to see a game featuring Necrons as enemies and other races too. They have plenty of material to keep doing some good games titles.
I have no idea what you're on about with any of that. But I do believe there is a reference in Tales of Heresy about the Emperor wearing a 'false image' I'll have to find the quote though.

That would be pretty awesome, or maybe you could play as a resurrected nemeroth :) After all, he completed his ascension, so that means he's immortal, and he'll be back. But thats kind of true with the warp thing.... But I think its possible and I think that it would make an amazing sequel ;D

We don't have enough clues to find out why he is resistant to warp. It could be what I said... a seed implanted by Alpha Legion, but not activated yet, so he is no chaos servant until it's activated. Pariah gene in Captain Titus maybe? What if he's a blank (soulless )? So many terms for those unaffected by warp influence, I am nit really sure what it is.
He is still not a sorcerer. It may be that he followed the ways of multiple gods, like Abbadon the Despoiler does, since he used that warp flame thing earlier. But KHorne has nothing against a portal being openedandd as you said, Tzeentch may have tricked someone into an alliance of some kind. I still think either Khorne opened the portal when Nemeroth asked, or he did it.
I think a Chaos Lord is aprefectly valid threat myself. I never played Chaos Gate, but Eliphas the Inheritor from Dark Crusade is, to me, exactly what a good Chaos Lord is supposed to be.
