  • Have you ever heard the term "off healer" in Overwatch and had no idea what it meant? This video explains exactly that. The terms off healer, main healer, and even main and flex support are bounded about the Overwatch 2 community all the time, and can actually help you to win more games by understanding support compositions super well. Lifeweaver is also an interesting hero added for season 4, and you may not know where exactly he fits in either...

    Ive just started playing only zenyatta. No matter how many times i die. Forcing me to find different ways out of different scenarios. Been doing pretty good. Average 20 kills 2 deaths on a game of escort. The only thing i have to conciously remember is to kick with him. I also melt the tank first and foremost before i worry about anybody else. Zenyatta can melt a tank faster than it can heal. If you melt the enemy tank your tank can melt the dps

    Im currently one tricking brigitte, would you have any insight as to good hero comps they can go with?

      I'm actually planning a video about the best support duo for every support hero rn, but I can give you a few sneak peek tips for Brig :)
      Brig's best support synergy is definitely Ana. Brig acts like Ana's "bodyguard", using her whip shot to keep enemies at bay. Ana's job in this comp is to cover the healing output that Brig can't really sustain. the best tanks in Brig comps are either dive tanks (Ball, Doom, Winston, etc) or poke tanks (Sigma). her best DPS synergies are most of the flankers, since she can sustain them REALLY well with her health packs (Tracer, Genji, Echo, Pharah, etc)
      hopefully that all makes sense! I can probably explain it better in the video in a few weeks hahah

    These categories make sense for ranked, but "main support" has a different meaning in scrims and league so people will be confused or annoyed.
    I like "burst" and "drip" supports - the "burst" ones help put sudden pressure on the enemy team to win out the neutral fight, while the "drip" supports provide more constant utility throughout.

      agree with this comment! Overwatch is a different game between ranks, but it's COMPLETELY different for those playing in any organised competitive format. this channel aims to focus on helping the gameplay on the general player base, so I decided to focus more on the Main vs Off concept rather than Main vs Flex :)

      is there a difference between drip and sustained?

      @@alexadams4017 Kind of - Just because you can use yellow beam on Mercy or the healing crossfade on Lucio constantly, doesn't mean you should.
      Brig has to stop hitting things and using Inspire as and when her shield runs low or she has too much pressure on her.
      On Zen the Harmony Orb can stop working if you lose line of sight, but sometimes it's more important to finish killing something than it is to set up your healing again. (Same for Lifeweaver)

    Lifeweaver is a heal bot now. 😂😂 And petal platform is a buggy mess that gets you killed half the time. 😫. But. I love him still. 😂 He's more of a main support. Illari the support after him, I don't know where she's at now. She used to be an off support providing damage but they've pivot into buffing her healing and needing her damage which was her only utility. So she's in a weird spot right now.

    I recommend you use the other term main support (lucio, brig, mercy) and flex support (ana, bap, moira, kiriko, zen) as its more accurate to how you should pick and work with your team

      @BaileysOver  Рік тому +2

      I actually disagree with this take, but I'm glad you brought it up! the main & flex support roles were more applicable in the early days of Overwatch when the support cast was super small. nowadays, these roles are only really useful for determining who should manage callouts/ult tracking/etc.
      when playing in ranked, these skills aren't really utilised (even in top 500). therefore, learning the main & off healer theory is MUCH more effective for the casual player base. it's more important to be able to sustain your team and provide utility, than it is to assign your solo queue Lucio to manage the entire team's callouts and ult tracking :)

      @@BaileysOver naw u have the shitty take; these are terms used by gms and pros how the fuck are u disagreeing with them

    • @BaileysOver
      @BaileysOver  Рік тому +2

      because the game of Overwatch is both super nuanced and super old. I'm not disagreeing that the main/flex support theory helps out at a professional level, but it certainly doesn't help out the general player base.
      it's based around call outs, ult tracking, and general macro plays. these type of communications don't happen in metal ranked lobbies - and honestly, they rarely happen in top 500 lobbies either. understanding your role of sustain vs utility is much more impactful when you're JUST focussing on your own game, so that's why I chose to teach main/off healers instead of main/flex supports :)

  • @mak3129
    @mak3129 Рік тому +4

    Flex support (You are not expected to make too much comms as your hero pool requires you to focus and most of them excluding moira are mechanically demanding)
    Ana
    Zen
    Kriko
    Baptise
    Moira
    Lifeweaver
    Main support (You are throwing if you don't do comms on these heroes . The best players on these heroes usually communicate alot to their team and these heroes require lesser focus and mechanical skill)
    Lucio
    Mercy
    Brig
    This is what Overwatch League agrees with. All other stupid renditions of this are wrong and should not be followed.

    • @BaileysOver
      @BaileysOver  Рік тому +8

      I agree with this... but only for professional play. Overwatch is an ENTIRELY different game between ranks, and (even in top 500) playing as a co-ordinated team doesn't happen that often. I aim to help players on the ladder system with my videos, so teaching the flex/main system wouldn't really help them since it is based on comms and teamplay. you're totally right for OWL, but this video is for the more general player base :)
