- Very Easy to grease the blade spindles, bearings, no need to remove the plastic covers! Wheels and Steering components. Mine is a D105 but it is similar for most Deere lawn mowers.
Just thought I'd let you know your video is still helping people like me. Thanks very much!
Oh my god... Thank you for actually taking the camera view from the front tractor view and showing the path to where the underside grease nipples are. I'm no freakin mechanic in any way shape or form, so when people just cut to the exact spot on the underside of the vehicle it pisses me off so much. Great short vid, love it.
Thanks! I'm behind schedule on the grease and your video will make it easier.
Loved your video. Thanks for the help with finding the grease fittings. Gotta do my 8 hour maintenance on my first lawn tractor.
Hi, I'm glad I could help! :) Enjoy your tractor!
Thanx man,
I hope this will fix the problem of my tractor being so sluggish and tough to go up hills.
Just hit 9 hours on mine yesterday , thanks for the video! Watched this and the oil change one will be doing both today
Dude great video!!! Bought a new E170 you showed me how to grease the pig in under 5 min. Thanks a lot very helpful no bullshit
I'm glad you liked watching! Thanks!
I have the D105, too. This video was perfect! Thanks
Glad I could help. Thanks for watching!
Thanks, man. Helpful to see it happen.
Thanks for saving me some time brother.
Great Video. Thank You.
Thanks buddy for the informative video ( You helped me a lot )
Great! Glad I could help. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video. Very helpful. I could not find grease points for rear wheels axel on my E120. Is there none?
I'm not sure about that model. Thanks for watching though.
Thank-you. Couldn't find the ones on the mower deck.
My husq had me do 1st oil change at 5 hrs. Guess I should check my grease intervals.
Yeah maybe.
Great video!
+Jim Vincitore Thanks!
Thank you, I'll check for my greasing points on my cub cadet RZT S, I'll check if they're all in the manual or not...
+Vince Anity OK !
Gotta love the fact that there are grease fittings for the deck spindle bearings. But the bearings that are inside those spindles are sealed bearings.greasing those spindles does absolutely nothing whatsoever. You can’t push new grease into a sealed bearing. Not unless you remove the bearing seal, repack the bearing and reinstall the seal. Those deck spindle grease zerks are just a marketing gimmick to make the owner feel better because it’s “greasable”.
"U'm take it round the yard a lil bit, umm hmm"
uh huh...
Always check manual got greasing nipples, if You don't have it check for greasing everything that spins.
If nipples is stuck, and You are not able to press in grease, just press the little ball in the middle few times with nail for example.
What grease did you use?
Sorry I don't remember right now, whatever the manual said.
Rick Mammana please check what is in your grease gun. I am curious.
Really surprised me no grease fittings on the back wheels of my D140.
Drive axles are solid from rim to tranny. No spindles, bearings, etc. like steer tires.
I have a dealer x750 series model that all the bearings were dry as a bone i raised hell needless to say because nowhere in the manual or the maintenance or sales contract did it state that i was responsible for greasing the numerous grease fittings underneath the mower.
+A-State Lawn Service Wow that sucks! Hopefully it's OK.
A-State Lawn Service yea your responsible for your own equipment unless someone else service it !
Are there any areas to grease for steering? Steering wheel squeaks when turning left and right. No grinding just squeals, same model d105 95hrs
You should always jack up the front of the tractor to take the weight off the surface your greasing !!
Cool thanks. I have the same tractor. I will grab my grease gun and hit thought spots this weekend. I am at 9 hours. I'll also do the oil change. Did you adjust mower deck belt tension as well?
Hi, No I didn't adjust the belts yet.
John deere is famous for installing sealed bearings in the spindles. The inner bearing shields should be removed to allow greasing. I have replaced numerous spindles on these and 90 percent of the time bearings are installed with shields on both sides. This makes greasing spindles useless. The spindles are also never lubed from the factory. The goal in doing this saves assembly time at the factory and generates parts sales. Shame on you john deere.
I agree 100%, sealed bearings are only good on electric motors.
Is there bearings or something inside the axle where the spindle goes?
Hello,
Is there a maximum psi of your grease gun or any like 7000psi can do the job?
How do you know how many pressure for filling the bearing?
Thank you
There is not much pressure in the grease gun I used. It's just a manual unit. I just gave it a few pumps and it should be ok.
@@RickMammana Thank you. I already bought a 7000PSI (max manual) I will be carefull. Thank you.
hey do you know if there is a grese zerk fitting for the steering on a 48 inch craftsman tractor? the tractor is made by Husqvarna.
Hi, No I'm not sure about the Craftsman. Might find it online somewhere. ?
Did you take rear wheels off and grease axle? Do you think that is needed! I bought left over 17 D105 in February and have had no problems! Oil was dirty at 8 hours I guess from break in!
No I haven't dont that. But I guess it couldnt hurt anything. The factory recommends an oil change after the first 8 hours.
Rick Mammana hmm 🤔. I think I am a bit behind there.
The grease nozzle directly under the front end is a real pain in the ass.
+UnZealot Yeah.
yea
Beware of the transaxle if is the PLASTIC series it is pure junk.
+William Colvin OK. Thanks!
What is the plastic series William Colvin?
Junk.
