Now unfortunately in our Christian world for majority of leaders, it's all about this short life here and now. How to compete to be at the top by any dispeakable means!!
I stand in my conviction about speaking in tongues in prayer if it's God given. Based on Mark 16 :17-20, through out Acts of Apostles, Romans 8:26-27, 1 Corinthians chapters 12 through 14 I am convinced what I was given is from above and since I am not that special, i believe millions of others have this genuine experience. Although definitely not everything that we see now a days is true, just like anything else, there are exceptions. We can't simply generalize and discredit everyone!
But I agree that there's no need for the show off of such gifts in public. And since all gifts are freely given, it should be given freely not putting a price tag on it. Matthew 10:8 Jesus said "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give."
Since Church is still here and The Holy Spirit is still here, until Rapture these gifts will continue, must continue! Exactly like the fruit of Spirit has to continue in a believer's daily walk with The LORD.
Galatians 5:16-26 16So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17For the flesh craves what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are opposed to each other, so that you do not do what you want. 18But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

The key is to discern by their fruit( actions coming from convictions). Our Jesus said in Matthew 7: 16 "Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?" Also in the Book of James in NT it's all about the teme "Faith without action is dead".
But I agree to disagree and i respect your convictions as you did a lifetime of Biblical studies not just history.
History is written by biased men but WORD of God is written by The Inspiration of The Holy Spirit. 2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
Matthew 24:35 our Jesus said "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away."
But based on 1 Corinthians 14:26-39 Worship has to be orderly. Jesus said not to do such show offs in Matthew 6:1-4. But I don't believe based on scriptures n what Jesus said implies to going to a church, sit in the pews in glamorous church buildings and say Yes and Amen to everything you don't even understand! Just sitting there hoping that the priest can do the sacrifice for us n save us. No, Jesus saved us and we have to do the sacrifice of our lips. Hebrews 13: 15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. Our LORD Jesus said Luke 19:40 "And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out."
Indeed there has to be a balance!! Alternative is not to sit there as statues. But to respect each other, fellowship, have unity n to have corporate prayer which is powerful. Joshua 23: 10 "One man of you shall chase a thousand: for the LORD your God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he hath promised you." Our fight is not against flesh and blood , it's a spiritual warfare we are under. Ephesians 6: 10-20
We need unity in praise n worship now i am not talking about some rock concert. Isolating believers is the strategy of devil. There's power in unity, there's power in fellowship and corporate worship!!

I agree with Sunil and the Achen on the state of the church. They are spot on. I do agree there are people who may be charlatans and false teachers. By the same token there may also be people who are true Godly people with such gifts.
But on the issue on the Holy Spirit and tongues, I agree with what you had to say. God and his Holy Spirit can intervene in our lives at any time and in any way he wants. For God, nothing is impossible. Nothing short of a miracle.
If Sunil and the Achen sincerely shed all their misgivings and seek the Holy Spirit in spirit and in truth, they too can and will experience it. No amount of academic research will shew forth. This is a mystery. One has to get to the spiritual level. No one should belittle the Holy Spirit or tongues. This is a serious matter. I am not a pentecostal or charismatic, but I do respect and revere and honour God's sovereignty. I am not a pastor or priest but have studied God's Word. I am 73 years old and am not from India. Yes, I am a Malayali and Nasrani, and in my time, I have seen it happening in my life journey. I have been associated with many denominations, both traditional and new ones. The Holy Spirit is real, and some can have the gift of tongues. It is not clinical. Seek, and God will reveal.

As this Priest said I use to watch classes of B.K Shivani, she is teaching very nicely about higher consciousness,
I have stopped going for Confession since 2009.
Once we know the reality we will never do it. It is very difficult to make the people understand this as they are scared of it.because all teaching has put fear in the heart of people.
I believe there is a Father in heaven who is our well wisher than our earthly parents.So we can believe in him as a child and once we believe he will take care of us.

Mr. Sunil, would you please bring out the truth about mortal remains of saints and that too the so called saints who are as old as Jesus Christ.
Appreciate the trouble that Sunil is taking in highlighting the pitfalls in Christian world.
However, I am of the view that Problem description is only half the problem solved. Merely telling the truth in today's world creates a niche for oneself. Therefore, although the decay amongst the clergy is known to all, there is hardly anyone like Sunil who is bold and committed enough to speak up for the larger good. I am not in denial of this fact; although one who believes that he is on firm ground should beware of Satan's pitfalls too. Pride, for instance, is one such instance. For example, I do not believe that deriding the Holy Sacraments is helpful for a proper Christian upbringing; although mere dependence on sacraments without developing a personal and intimate relationship with Christ cannot be the way forward either.
Anyway, it is also necessary for Sunil to find ways to encourage the Christian communities, in Kerala and outside, to develop a positive confidence in Christ. Brain-storming on this aspect would help in my view. Additionally, highlighting noble Christian souls (past & present) like Late Prof. M. V. Yohannan, Late Sadhu Kochoonju Upadesi, Rev. Fr. T. J. Joshua, etc. would also help. Other than a primary dependence on the Holy Bible, reading good books like 'The Way of the Ascetics' by Tito Colliander can also be relied upon to have a personal relationship with Christ.
