i've lived in california, nevada and now in arizona, and the roads in northern nevada were kept, by far, in the best condition... at least the highways, for sure. only thing that sucked about living/driving the area was the sandy soil that blows and pits car glass and paint.
the drive from carson city up to tahoe is amazing in a fast, manual transmission car. plenty of thrills with plenty of room for error. shoulda taken my bike up....
