WOW! That is gorgeous. Just amazing. Paul continues to deliver. I was just looking at my Suntup shelf this morning, and was so thankful to have so many fantastic editions of some really great books. This one is no exception. F451 is a great read. And it still holds up today.
Yeah, the books that Paul picks are always ones that I've either read or been meaning to read. Except for Bibliomysteries. I'd never heard of that one before. But I'm really looking forward to it. I was floored when he picked Brother. It was a book I had been meaning to read for over a year that very few people were talking about. So for Paul to give it the Suntup treatment was just a shock. And the book was just as fantastic as I had heard.
Cheers Jeff. You finally made a good beer choice. I am only kidding. The book is stellar. Never before has an unboxing seemed so dirty. You were like Joe Biden inhaling that novel. Fahrenheit 451 was the book my junior year English teacher introduced me to and kindled my love for reading. I was 16, new to being in a wheelchair after breaking my neck in a diving accident, and I was just trying to get my bearings on this new life. Reading really helped me, and this book was pivotal. What I like about your unboxings is that you remind me books can be beautiful artistic objects as much as any statue, painting, or whatever you view as art. I've watched The Ninth Gate too many times. I love the smell of some books. You know a lot of love went into your edition. You made a great purchase. Congrats my friend. I'll be looking for your next unboxing and beer selection.
I'm sorry you had such an accident at such an age. I really can't imagine it. And I'm afraid of saying something stupid and clumsy that you've probably heard already. I'm glad you found a way to rebound. I'm not surprised books were part of that. And I'm glad you're here to share that joy with me and us on this channel. I've loved books since I realized I wasn't good at being a pack animal, but Paul Suntup was the first to make books that lived up to that love. They are true reflections of that love. Every Suntup I buy is a great decision. Only one out of every 5 stouts is the same.
@@THEJEFFWORD I've always said that if males can make it from 15 to 25 without doing something seriously stupid, we'll be ok for the rest of our journey. We will all become a statistic at some point so I learn to enjoy today, even if today is boring, at least nothing major is happening. We all have challenges that we must overcome and I picked up mine a little earlier than necessary, but that is ok. You must always make the best of the cards you are dealt. We were just speaking of Carlos Ruiz Zafon recently. I come home from doing a little brewery hopping with a friend and the first thing that pops up on my facebook feed is that he died of cancer. I was so pissed. I let out a series of expletives. I might have thrown my computer if I could. I think he was 55. His prose was so good he would make me disappointed in other writers I previously enjoyed. The man had the gift and thankfully shared it with the world. I am so glad he finished his series. I fear George R.R. Martin will croak before he finishes his. While I knew Game of Throne was something special right from the first book in '96, the magic has sort of worn off for me. He has taken too long and found other ways to distract himself. I know you are a Lansdale fan. I might give some of his Western stories a try. So many authors, too little time to read. Time to get back at it. Take care and keep drinking and unboxing.
@@Elricmedia19731 I need to read Zafon. Even though I haven't I was still floored by the news of his passing. The older I get, the more I respect life and understand that every day truly is a gift. I try not to hate myself for wasting so much time because that's just more time wasted. I'll keep enjoying brews and books. Cheers to you!
Very nice, Jeff. Looks like a killer edition from one of my top 5 favorite authors. Hoping that Suntup will someday do more Bradbury, maybe Something Wicked or Dandy-Lion Wine. Still waiting somewhat patiently for my AGE's for this and Red Dragon. So what's that about some Neil Gaiman special editions? I'm actually a big fan of his.
The limited Gaiman editions are being bound by Lyra's Books. Right now there's only a FB page (the website is still being built!): facebook.com/lyrasbooks As far as more Bradbury, I don't think Paul will do Something Wicked because Centipede Press will be publishing a fantastic edition of that book very soon. I also just read the Folio Society edition of that book--loved it! I'd certainly welcome more Bradbury. Dandelion Wine would be spectacular!
@@THEJEFFWORD Thanks for the reply and the information. I did check out that Facebook page. The book looks beautiful, but Stardust isn't one of my favorite Gaiman stories. I think I would rather save for the Centipede Press Bradbury book you mentioned. I couldn't find any info on it, but I am sure it will be sublime. I just need to get in quick before it sells thru. I don't really DO any social media (Facebook, twitter, etc...), so I will have to keep hitting their website.
@@sleestack13 Are you on the Centipede Press newsletter email list? That's your only chance at getting Centipede Press info. You can email Jerad and get on the list at this address: jerad@centipedepress.com Something to note about the edition of Stardust: it might be the only book published by Lyra.
@@THEJEFFWORD I did send an email inquiry, and am now on the list for information. Thanks for that! By the way, you may be interested in the new "2 sides" version of The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde from Amaranthine Books. Check it out.

Suntup is prime!! I can’t wait. Yes, and I too love the smell.
OPTIMUS PRIME!

Nothing like being barraged by Suntup books seemingly every week. Sometimes I wonder if Paul actually sleeps. He is a publishing madman!
I think he's trying to cause an overdose.
