It’s actually just a crack in the grout. Once I put some new grout on there you won’t see that venting crack anymore. As I said in the video, the grill was still venting some water vapor out at the time of this cook.
Does the grout need to be applied while the grill is hot? I see some small areas of venting after a cook last night. Trying to decide if I need to fire up the grill prior to repairing it.
Yes absolutely right, I should not have called it smoke, just confuses the issue. It’s moisture or in my case also some solvent from the jacket, as this is a newish grill!
i noticed my komodokamado had some condensation inside of it that collected on the new drip pan. My assumption since all vents are closed is this is moisture that has collected from the unit being outside on a deck and is a natural thing. Now that it's on a covered deck, even in humid Mobile, Al. I suspect this will go away when i start using the komodo and closing down the vents all the way after the cook.
@@rudymsmith Best to store your grill with the damper top cracked to let hot humid air escape. If not it will condense on the inside of the grill at night..
@@rudymsmith the more humid the environment the more moisture will collect inside your KK. Assuming you have a cover, leaving the vents open will actually help keep air moving and moisture to dissipate from your KK. Otherwise you’ll always have some condensation in humid conditions
Why is nobody commenting on the huge crack running vertically on the front of the grill. Why is this not a problem?

Awesome thanks for the share

Thanks for this info - good to know. I’ll have to order another tube of caulk!
Yes it’s important to have the grout handy for these kinds of repairs!
BTW that is water vapor not smoke venting...
And the smell is like acrylic paint.
