I went on a long road trip with my father and he told me to play anything I wanted. I put this on and he turned the volume up a couple of times. At one point he said, "This kid must have listened to King Crimson. This is some really interesting stuff." "I can't believe people are making music like this, how do they even make money?" Then I told him that I just bought a shirt.
Djent is Ad Vanguard. Everyone has so much skill. They can contribute. I play Djent. I play guitar but now I am focusing a little on Keyboard. If I go into a band I would specialize in Alternate Tunings Guitar and keys.
This is a musical achievement. I laughed out loud at multiple points because I couldn't comprehend the beautiful sounds. The groove change and distortion at 19:28 resulted in involuntary stankface the intensity of which I've never before experienced. Excellent work, profound album.
Oh my God I have never been so jealous of someone else's writing abilities but holy fuck I'm smashing all my instuments finding the tallest building and jumping off
After having this music with me for over a month now, getting to know it intimately - it is undeniable. It is a contemporary masterpiece that, as it should, will challenge everyone that listens to it. This is Wes Thrailkill in Genius Mode. Pushing the limits to new levels for listeners and musicians. Oh, and f**k me, how can you not just truly be blown away by Wes' guitar creations, phenomenal playing and how incredibly the guitar riffs and solos so beautifully mingle, meander and fuse throughout the soundscape. Support this phenomenal music and this great artist so that we can all continue to enjoy his music in the future.
Ryan K. Cho on the Viola He does some great covers too ua-cam.com/channels/LFPSKFSvrfmd1QvTIPrIWQ.html Well shit I just figured you posted the question
This is an amazing album and the view count is evidence that the best musicians aren't the ones that get attention. Spread the word of the great Wes Thrailkill far and wide!
This is simply a masterpiece. I’m a huge Pink Floyd fan and I don’t listen to this kind of music ever. But I simply loved the album. It’s shocking that this video doesn’t have more views. This is just amazing. The guitar work is highly technical yet very musical and melodical, and the drums and bass are also amazing. The constantly changing time signatures and the piano arrangements are amazing. Maybe this isn’t famous yet. But it’s a little treasure I found. 10/10, very inspirational work... love it.
Been listening to shred for 35 years, owned every shrapnel release, saw Paul Gilbert with Racer X in LA in the 80's Yngwie in LA in 1985 when i was 15, and thousands of shredders along the way. This is one of the few guys i've heard in more recent years that actually impresses me on that level of when i was 15 and it was all something new.
This is so killer. Yes, even a 60+ prog rock, ELP, Brand-X, post punker like me can enjoy this. No one likes being compared to anyone, but Brand-X def comes to mind. Also hear some Killing Joke Geordie Walker guitar grit--though I have no reason to believe that these guys ever listened to them--just saying great tends to have a familiar sound. And the drummer? Damn man!
So im doing like I do, playing some video games, listening to spotify's "Release Radar" playlist to try and find some cool new stuff. The song "Before" pops up.. I listen for maybe a minute or two and immediately go straight to listen to the entire album all the way through. I don't really know what else to say aside from the fact that this album is one of the most unique and incredible works of art ive experienced in a LONG time. The entire playthrough I was either smiling or making faces of disgust at how nasty some of these grooves are. From top to bottom just one of the most unique and amazing albums ive ever heard. Absolutely incredible. Thank you
I'm not really into prog things. But I'm really into technic and theory and thereby I found you talented. I hope you get better and more appreciated in the future!
This album is so rare and contains so many instruments and intempestive changes, they turns it totally unexpected. But I like it, cause is like if you're hearing something different and innovative all the time.
Llevo 2 temas escuchados...y puedo asegurar que esto está dentro de las mejores cosas que he escuchado este año I've listened to 2 songs ... and I can assure you that this is among the best things I've heard this year Fantastic Job dudes! Regards from Argentina
Two random, "does anyone else hear..." 1. The main theme of the album reminds me strongly of Royksopp's "Sordid Affair" 2. Taranto's solo almost sounds like a shreddy Simpsons theme for the first like 90% of the opening phrase

Your dad sounds like a cool dude, thanks for spreading the love. Discipline is one of my favorite records of all time
I don't think this album (or any Wes' works) is underrated, just overlooked. It has a small audience, and we all rate it 10/10, easily

I had the same reaction
I didnt think my face could get that stank-like. It stayed like that for a hot minute
"Oh I'm sorry, did I break your concentration?"
Ok, this is amazing.
Thanks Rudy for the recommendation.
No problem
"The prog is strong with this one"
this piece of music makes dream theater looks like Rock band...so awesome!
I don't know how I landed in this aesthetic pool of proggy, jazzy goodness. But boy am I glad I did.
It just keeps getting fucking better!
Thank you, UA-cam recommendations, for actually working for once. These guys have skills
Wes' guitar work is amazing. Love the cover art too.
Shawn lane, Friedman, Ric Fierabracci, Grossman, Gambale, and many more...must be proud! Cheers mate
Oh my God I have never been so jealous of someone else's writing abilities but holy fuck I'm smashing all my instuments finding the tallest building and jumping off
I can't help but fall in love with the odd time signatures
Oh, I'm sorry, did I break your concentration?! Gone is my favourite. Well done!

Genius
Are there videos of Lang Zhao tracking the drums? I would pay to get some play-throughs and/or drum transcriptions. He's phenomenal.
Olivia Ohlund Same. I’ve never heard of him and he shoots right to the top of the charts.
