Every time I come across a Wes Thrailkill recording I am reminded he is one of the greatest among the greatest. Not only in playing, but composition, tone and general musicality.
I have waited for this release, this is really wonderful stuff. The moment at 7:48 is so brilliant All the EP is perceived like one great complete song
Somehow just found this from a recent collaboration with Ron Jarzombek, and I'm so sad I've missed out on it for 2 years. This really is an incredible creation.... can't stop replaying it.
I'm going to update the comment as I listen.. 1st song - Feeling outer space... sounds meaty:) WOW... That all felt like one big song... great job, Wes!
Pardon me... I need a spatula to get my jaw off the floor. AMAZING playing and music. Love that snarl you get out of that Kiesel, and that smooth distortion and glassy cleans. Still using the Holdsworth pickups ?
Dude...don't tell me if I'm wrong because I don't want to know but I see/feel a continuation of Everything About You. For me... Abduction from life by a disguised seed of beautiful possibilities which was, in truth and time, a soul sucking leech that hears, in it's paranoid percucia, things which are the antithesis of what is actually said and meant, to the point that even trying to emote the soft, caring, lovely, sensitive spirit of the heart is an exercise in futility so that the latter is the complete chaotic opposite of the former...forcing detachment. That's MY current view anyway. 😉 This one's Jazzier! 🤙
The Blotted Snarky Contortionist: Electric Sunrise Take the Hindmost. IDFK. This is really great. Are the drums and bass programmed? They sound really mean, beautiful mix.
@@RevealedJoe Are you sure? I assumed he did everything on "Everything That Is You" as well, but that could be my fault. I thought I caught a snippet of programmed drums, giving me that impression.
@@SeanLain Everything That Is You was by Wes and the band's bassist and drummer at the time while also including a bunch of guest musicians that they've met over the years I believe.
@@SeanLain The duo of The Resonance Project.Guitarist Yas Nomura and drummer Lang Zhao. They play their part in the last album for Wes.They are both great musicians. The Resonance Project album is also a prog metal masterpiece.Yas Nomura could play both bass(even fretless one) and guitar. You could hear that jazz fusion vibe in his solo line.
I figured just now that "An Abduction" is not a 20 minutes song, that EP just flows impeccably
dont know why it took me so long to get here but JEEEEZ BRO these tracks are nuts
This is unbelievably good.Although this year has been garbage, we've been lucky enough to get some great music from some fantastic artists.
why am i only just discovering this
That descending riff towards the end of Seed Turns To Leech is absolutely magical
This
That burst of notes at 19:10...jaw dropped....♥️♥️
Masterpiece💥
One of the biggest tragedies of 2020 was missing this release.
the cool thing about time is that regardless of when you find it, it exists
I would empty my bank account to hear and see this masterpiece live. Christ, dude your music is legendary.
The handful of live video of Wes is so clean. Nobody has any business being this precise. Criminally under rated.
The songs flow into each other so perfectly
Congrats Wes, this is phenomenal!
The "Time's up" at the end is from Good Will Hunting, when Will meets the therapist for the first time
wtf

This is better than Plini's new album which is a pretty high bar.
Fuck yeah! It's like King Crimson on steroids ... in a good way.

Rhythm guitar sounds awesome on the first track (in the process of listening)! Any chance you can share the signal chain? Thanks!
Thanks dude! All gear used along with a complete rig rundown for Detach is included in the digital guitar transcription (link in description)
This is your best stuff yet! So good
Awesome EP! I sunk many hours into your last EP, and it looks like I'm gonna do the same with this one 👍
so talented and musical! Love it!
Phenomenal.
i just love this.
I was expecting for this
I'm guessing this is only one guy and not an entire band? Either way, this is some great music
This specific release is just by Wes but the rest of the releases are with a full band.
@@RevealedJoe Very cool. Thanks for the info
