Courses like this would negate the need to roll back the golf ball, tighten up the PGA tour courses, jobs done.

That’s why I love Harbour Town links so much. I once saw a player hit a branch of a tree overhanging the fairway, the ball ricocheted toward the tree and still finished on the edge of the fairway. It’s a short course for the tour pros but you have to be deadly accurate.
I totally agree with Pud56, with so many trees defending the course, the big hitters would be forced to plot there way around, rather than just smash it long..🤔👍🤷🏽♂️
The pros would never stop complaining 😂
Courses are already struggling financially and adding more cost to add tree’s would bankrupt them. Also some courses aren’t designed to have a ton of trees on them also this distant issue effects mini tours/collegiate/amateur events.

Matt...I've been a subscriber for well over a year and I swear it looks like your putting stroke tempo was a bit quicker on this day, than it typically is. Shorter back, shorter follow thru. That course looks really nice, but VERY tight from the tips.
That course looked really tight and deceptive greens!
A really good effort Matt, but once those trees had drawn you in you were never going to get out of its grasp...🤔! Trust me, I know the perils of a round stuck in amongst the trees..😭😠🤷🏽♂️
I have stuck in there with the same clubs but have gone online and invested in a new brain. I’ve removed the one that thinks it’s a low handicapper and replaced it with a more ‘game improvement’ model. Seems to be working so far…. 😂

Surprised that your solid hybrid didn't come more often out of your bag for the course management. Not sure two dozen ball's for me would have been enough 😂😂😂 to finish those 18 holes

What a beautiful course that it is. I guess it looks narrow when you play a lot of open courses.
Anyhow some nice golf and your always close just gotta piece it all together.
I would love to see you playing with Carter, or Finchy at the Good Good tournament. You guys could maybe pull out a top 3. I say that as a huge compliment. There are some “sticks” in this thing. However, tournaments aren’t won on paper. They’re won on the greens(especially scrambles). I’m also a near scratch player, and I’ve had those days where I don’t do anything “bad”, and still end up with too many soft bogies. I’ve found that it basically takes one GREAT shot per hole, to shoot under par. Hitting “average” approach shots, chips, and putts just never seems to get the job done. Golf is hard, my friend. Golf is hard….
Well I for one feel your pain but now you may have a better understanding of how a lot of us feel week to week.
I agree with an earlier comment that the PGA Tour should be playing courses that are more technical in their layout similar to what you've just done battle with.
But well done to you for keeping your cool and I hope your new putter is better behaved.😊
I know it was horrible to play but it was a pleasure to watch. I could actually feel your frustration with every shot.
Was almost like watching me tis morning. Felt like played well and finished 14 over. Still I was happy. Best putter on UA-cam has gone with that performance. Really enjoy the challenge and some cracking courses. Keep working on that short game. Thanks 😊
Played there last jan. Toughest course ive played and i was playing off 2 handicap. Need to be long and straight off the tee. Me and mate decided to play scramble 2nd time we played it to give us a chance! Loved it though.
I do enjoy seeing how good players like you cope when the worlds gone to shit, it happens to us higher handicappers more often than not and seeing you have a bad one just reassures us that it can happen to anyone and not to get too downhearted when it does, look forward to your upcoming videos as always

dont beat yourself up deep , let your soul heal with knowledge of how much joy and happiness you generate on the planet , well done you .... and it was just that today you were playing golf bingo and i think you crossed off every single box , finishing with a shank and water was epic ....and always remember the good rounds and banish the bad , you are MUCH MUCH better than a single round

Mathew get yourself back to those uk link’s courses, can’t play a round of golf unless you view the sea, that was a tough old track, but fair play for battling on, thought the putter might be taking a swim in one of those ponds, but put him in the cupboard he knows he has let you down😂.Great series always makes me smile, keep them coming.

Excellent video. Narrow tree lined courses are are visually boring and irritating to play. Do we think the designer had ever actually played golf?
A tough track that, very demanding and sure to find you out if the game isn't on point, no wonder it's a qualifying course.
Looks like you'll be spending a few more hours per week on the putting green to iron out your distance control. Keep up the great content Matt, it's always entertaining. 👌🏽

Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt. Those narrow tree lined courses can eat you alive if you don't hit it straight. I know you are disappointed Matt but things could have been a lot worse. Your putter was a bit balky but to be honest, you really did not have a lot of good birdie looks.
50 degree wedge from 80 yards is a bit nuts no? Surely just club down and hit a fuller shot?
How come all these UA-camrs ground their clubs in hazards, ive seen shiels do it, good good, finch, etc
This is the type of course where they would have to pay me to be a member there. I rate this course, not fun. This is a 3 club course 7I,PW and Putter, leave the rest at home. 🤕😤
Tough Course Mat but enjoyed the commentary chalk it down to one of those days I have them quite frequently so like you said at least the sun was shining.

Matt, love your videos and of course your golf. Really struggling with the amount of adverts and the length of them, seems to be a minute each time.
We don't have a say of the adverts that go in I'm afraid and can't turn them off or I have no business. Hopefully the content is worth the small trade off
Seriously mate 4 minutes of adverts for an hour of quality content is a very small price to pay. The work that goes into making these videos for all of us to watch for free is worth it and should be more appreciated I think
matt you normally putt so well . Its obviously the magnets in your ball which are normally attracted by the metal flag posts causing the ball to fall in the hole. That course has magnetised the flag posts causing the ball to be repelled from the hole. lol
I always get very intimidated with tight course. Our two courses are tight but not that tight. Get'em nexxt time.
Pleased this isn't my home course! I thought my course was tight!
Per usual after the first hole prediction hopefully you can pick up your momentum and grab a lot of birds but I wanna say you will shoot 4 over maybe 3 over but seems it's gonna be a struggle

Your solution to meeting an actual challenge where you need to be a real ball striker that can shape the ball, is to remove the challenge altogether. Awesome.

I appreciate the honest bad day... they happen to the rest (or most) of us every time out. Such a strange game in that the clubs that give you trouble just start playing well (out of nowhere!) while the clubs you can trust on just abandon you!! The Demons at work... how did Satan get a lifetime membership to golf?!
