I know you filmed this in January Matt but it’s now late February and my course back home has been closed for the last 3 weeks due to the horrific weather! I know you didn’t show your best stuff today but I’m sure you can bounce back from this. I would personally just love to swing a club at the moment regardless of my score ! Chin up pal 👍
If you find a cure let me know as my run of uselessness is now reaching two years, but I find everything I have tried especially push slice doesn’t work. I still seek the Magic cure. It’s either that or give up.

Couldn't finish this, as you sound like a dalek half the time because of the microphone and the rest of the time the sound levels were all over the place.
I loved this. We've all had rounds like this and know the pain. So much anticipation of playing well on a great course which explodes in your face. Keep going Matt..

Painful to watch painful to bear. I found it challenging mentally, spiritually and physically. I got through it though with support from golfers anonymous.

Always have to remember golf may be brilliant, but it's also a stupid (and at times apparently deliberately mean) game...

You pep talked yourself into trouble kind of. "Look at that grate, I am going to hit it", the brain took it to heart and so you did. Golf is a wonderful sport. 🙂

Tricky, hard and bouncy courses and not easy in the wind....
That course, those conditions...breaking 80 would have been extraordinary. With my 15 index I'd be lucky to break 100 from those tees.

Matty, Matty, Matty..to be fair you didn’t have the run of the ball in that round! Super tough conditions on a difficult long course! You normally aim point but didn’t see you do that unless it was edited out? Could of saved you a few putts?!

Mate you need to reasses what you are hoping to achieve. Maybe look to improve some of your subscribers game in line with your lesson vids......invite a medium to highchandicapper out at their course or your home turf, a couple of shots here and there for them....me 😅....and see if you can help them and who knows maybe yourself. Happy to be your guinea-pig off camera if needs be. Just my uneducated thoughts 😉
I realize our game is based on NUMBERS but that can be a double edged sword. I recently had a little hand surgery and had to take a few months off from the game. My return to the game has been a slow process to regain my form. Having said that my last two games left me feeling elated and defeated respectively. However BOTH games were 88. Not terrible for me but not great either. Sometimes the game is more than the score. Keep your chin up.
You're putting like me! Then again, if i were with you I'd be looking at +36. Off the forward tees of course!
Matt, some days it's golf, and some days it's flog. It was one of those days. Go have a pint and forget about the round. Just remember, you're looking down at the flowers, not looking up at them.
It is just a game Matt. Thank you for sharing this, we all know you are better than this and we have all had days like this. Head up, stiff upper lip as your people say, and we will see you on the next course. We are awaiting your triumphant comeback.

I always feel sorry for the Camera Person. It can't be easy to witness such a tragic round.

always entertaining ...dont be so hard on yourself ...and go back look at start of video ...first up the stats back up is a tuff as nuts course and then you rattled off your previous not so great attempt and thus were in a semi negative and wary mindset which is never the best for your best golf .... go chat to that head guru about this round ... i also always get the feeling that you feel more pressure than most on youtube to "prove yourself" ...just trust me when i say you already have proved you are a damn great players player so just chillax into your golf a little more and stop being overly critical and worrisome ...only said from a place of love in that i love everything you have done ...entertainment + education plus ALWAYS and thanks
Well done Matt. Hard to go through that and keep going....appreciation for what many of us go through on a much more regular basis. Would have been easy to pull up early and say that you were only playing 9 holes. Keep it up !!

As soon as you said "comment what score you think" I thought just aim to break 80 - which you immediately said as well. Anything in the 70s is a great score in those conditions

The worst part is when you are really looking forward to a course and play like a knob it hurts even more. It almost gets to a point where you want to mess up a hole to almost punish yourself for playing so bad. Mentality is not an issue skill to control in those testing conditions. Well done for posting it though.

The UA-cam golfers (Matt, Ric, Peter, James Robinson, Mr Short Gsme, Good Good , etc. ) have access to the best clubs, the best instruction, the best instructors and the best courses. And you get to swing a club way more than us working stiffs. But none of you can keep yourself mentally in a round. I have seen 20 handicap players with stronger mental games. Taking money off any of you on a Saturday morning would be the same has taking candy from a child. You have it made. But like Matt you go out blow up on the first four ones and whine the rest of the round. Has a lot, y’all pityfully embarrassing to watch. Maybe y’all should get real jobs.
Matt sorry man.. i feel this round.. i had a similar round yesterday i played well but scored horrible.. had a shot like you on the thirds right at the pin had a bit of spin.. went from two feet at the pin to 15 yards off the green duffed chip walk away with an 8.. round done lol im not as good as you playing at a 4 but all shots matter as it can go sideways guick
