Got to play Kingsbarns a few years back and without doubt the finest track ive ever played. It was also the week following the Dunhill Links, so in amazing trim.
This course is amazing , super cool to see it in an 18 hole format , too bad it is so expensive. Great playing matt, the work on the swing with your father and a little fitness seems to work wonders.
Little hiccups inside a great round Matt. Chin up! Had your putter warmed up a little it would've been a different story. You played great golf at a hell of a course. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Wow ! Was lucky enough to have played it a few years ago and was blown away with the condition and spectacle, desperately wanna return to try again , well played apart from those couple of holes Matt .
Great vlog matt. Started watching Rick shiels the saw u on there and thought instantly that u were cooler. So I subbed and 1st time commenting. 1st wish we had tracks like that. 2nd looks like u have improved your wedges keep it up. Love the vids keep em coming loving the content
Love the place, been fortunate to play it on 2 separate sunny still days. Getting a caddie really does help round there too. His reading of putts was ridiculously good. 17 really did chew you up and spit you out. Still a decent knock round there 👌🏽
Great episode, great golf, the best mental attitude I've seen from you Matt. You don't need a putting lesson, just some drill practice to realign yourself and the putter. Shame about 15 & 17, but keep going!
Great video! I've been to Kingsbarns but not able to play golf due to pandemic and my handicap at the time was too high anyway 🙄! It's a stunning course - I want to go back now that the pandemic is over and my handicap has come down...it's an immaculate course and you played brilliantly - loving this series!
Was very lucky to play it a couple of weeks ago, courtesy of Footjoy. It’s a fantastic place. According to a green keepers the greens were running at 9 1/2 on the stimpmeter ………. they were pure and ran forever. It’s such a shame the green fees at £375 a round is way beyond the average golfer 😩
It is getting ridiculous. All the talk of building the game and attracting a new demographic seems to justify the "elite" courses' gouging tourists in their own heads... The new demographic can play the common tracks... it's like the direct-to-consumer brand availability seems to grant Ping et al permission to sell $$$ clubs all of a sudden...
Love the series Matt. As an Aussie golfer from the south coast of NSW though I can’t imagine what’s like to have to wear gloves to keep my hands warm between shots. Don’t need to do that even in winter here 😂
Fantastic course, I’ve been lucky enough to play it twice. Some great golf from you, lovely to watch. Shame about the finish but remember the positives🙃
Damn that par 3 was a killer…but you made some great par saves and I dare say if your putter had been on fire you could have easily been -4 under par. For a cold day this was a great round…👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
4 holes in, I’d say you’ve got a good shot at red numbers. Strike is good. Direction is ok. I think the flat stick writes the story, on this round. I’m gonna proceed to watch. I shot even par 72 today. 2 birdies, 2 bogeys. Hit my driver great. Chipped great. Putted pretty good. Irons were a little off. I’ll take it.
Quick question…..I’m a subscriber to you, Andy, Peter and Rick. Why do you guys always carry your clubs and not use a buggy, in particular an electric buggy??? Still love you vids
Why do all UK golf course look like there is nobody else on the course. In USA there would be a line of carts backed up yelling at m if I played at your speed lol. Wish my play could be stress free like this.
76 -77 ... ..... (5 holes later ) ..... but then I looked up the scorecard after 8... and green is recommended for handicaps 6-18. rating 71.3. I rate you as a 4-cap Matt. You are a long-hitter. So you are hitting a wedge in most holes. Not pushing yourself but I understand why. I,m changing my guess to 73. Because it's easy. I'm a 5 cap on my course. Probably 6 if I was playing lots of courses, 68 years old. I would be aiming to break 75. See how it goes. Good luck. I have faith in you for a 73!
Hey mate. Do be honest with you l think you out of Pete, Andy, James and Mr shields you are playing the best golf. Rick’s chipping hss as s gone through the roof never seen him play them better but in my very amateur opinion you play the best. I would like to see you lot play 18 holes to see how that goes. Love in the red.
I did the same. :-( was strolling around my home course one under through 7, then two straight holes in the water for a triple and a double... felt nauseated and quit after 9. Dinner was ready anyway. 🤷🏻♂️
@@keithfinley2939 Bummer. Mine was an attempted 5 iron draw into a sucker pin that found the drink, never found the all so had to re-tee, got scared of another and left the second right, chipped up, two-putted, and waltzed off the par 3 with a rare "double par". 🤬
Yeah ... it's nuts. I was there in August and skipped it. I want to say it was $450-500 US, and I couldn't justify it. Prestwick was like 1/5th that. The Old Course was half that. I played Carnoustie, The Old Course, AND Prestwick for the pride of one round at Kingsbarns. I'd love to play it, but not when I can play three great courses for the price of it.
@@alisonburgess345 There are no memberships. It's a pay and play club. I think there are a small number of memberships available, but those are only for those who live in the village.
£374……that’s ridiculous, I’ve seen videos with courses very comparable to this one for less than half that price…I would hope Matt gets a bit of a deal for advertising their course..ya right 😂😂😂
Sometimes one off things are worth the money. I spunked £700 on an afternoon Heli boarding once. Life's too short to worry about things. Experiences count. You won't get to your deathbed and be glad you didn't do something you wanted to.
You only played 2 bad shots in the round really. The 7 balloon and the 6 you couldn’t settle over. The chips were a result of the 6 iron so it was a bit harsh
I’ve played it a couple of times. It looks much harder than it is, it is designed to be very accommodating off the tee so that the tourists go away having had a good time. Overpriced.
The North Sea is a sea, it’s not an ocean. The clue is in its name. The States is surrounded by oceans hence while Americans refer to them as that. We Brits should refer to our seas as seas. I’ve noticed Rick Shiels doing this too and as an insufferable pedant it grinds my gears!

This course is an absolute vision. Stunning.
Did he mention the views....I may have missed it 😂
Enjoying the series, I was humming along last week and ran into a buzz saw, too😊
Gorgeous course. Love the mental work you’re doing, Matt. Keep at it.
This is a great video - and there's a pic at 41.50 which makes the hole look amazing. terrific camera work....
Matt very very good attitude with you now , that’s a big thing on good scores , Cheers .
Got to play Kingsbarns a few years back and without doubt the finest track ive ever played. It was also the week following the Dunhill Links, so in amazing trim.
Loved the talk through every shot and knowing what’s involved. From the lie to the wind and slope and pin which is the best miss. Keep it up x
Oceans and traps! North Sea and bunkers Mr Fryer!
This course is amazing , super cool to see it in an 18 hole format , too bad it is so expensive. Great playing matt, the work on the swing with your father and a little fitness seems to work wonders.
I love the longer format, really gripping stuff!
Still a good round man on a beautiful course. It’s all good. Thank you!

One hour flew by , class .
What a course...Nice playing, fantastic setting, content keeps getting better.
Good job you found your ball on 9 you took an illegal drop with your provisional! Great video fantastic course
Really enjoying this series Matt!
One of the best golfing experiences I’ve ever had was at Kingsbarns. A real 5 star location
Great videography and golf content 👍🏽
Played well Matt!
Excellent job all things considered
Great play Matt remove 17 and the DB then phenomenal. Great watch
I played the Torrance fairmont yesterday love it up there the golf is just so much fun on those courses
Wow! how Matt has blossomed as a presenter from his early days with Rick and Pete.
Haven't been anywhere that felt as special as the Ailsa at Turnberry
Man…that 2nd to last hole hurt. Good round Matt!
Beautiful footage! I like your approach to golf. Funny, serious, beautiful sport. Great exercise as well, especially with all the camera work!
I wouldn't call it "great exercise"
Great video Matt! I get to play here in a couple weeks so this great timing for this video.

Playing really well Matt, great video!!
Tee shot on 15 was the killer. Great golf.
Golf is hard. 😂

12th hole. My favourite hole on any course I've played.

Nice rendition of Give Me Some Money by The Thamesmen
played kingbarnes and loved the course even though it chewed me up - very windy day to be fair
Internal dialogue: "We" to talk about what's future; "I" to talk about what's past.

Great course, good golf and horrendous Scottish accent impression 😅 - another cracking day out with Matt!
Matt how are you liking the graphite shafts?
Nearly 6 holes complete at this point in the video… thinking you’re going for E to +2. Looking good.
Hello Matt. Not wishing to sound pedantic but the ocean you keep talking about is actually the North sea, which is not an ocean .
Kingsbarns is a fair and scoreable course .
Four holes in I thunk you can still beat 70. Keep the calm approach 😊
Good to see you keeping your head about you these days Matt! The meltdowns weren't always fun to watch (some of them were though 🤣)

Quite of few tiers or tears on the green...😂

You should do a in the red from Panmure and carnoustie for the 50 th anniversary of Ben Hogans only open championship he ever played …and won.
I think I'd be hard pressed to hit the ball at all surrounded by those views.
Another cracker Matt, looks like a great course
Matt are you from the old school 😂 drop of the 9. Your knies are very high 😅

I prefer the longer 18 hole videos, brilliant
If you get in the red here you can do it anywhere.
