I used to send the $100 towards you guys for the Lao kids needed skateboards I still remember you also played the skateboard with those kids in the park. The reason why it’s still spicy is because they don’t wash the mortal and pestle for each serving and there’s still spice from the last previous batches
The reasons that they don’t wash it because they are superstitious, they think it will bring them bad luck and that they won’t have a good sell for that day. Being Laotian myself I just don’t understand this kind of believing. Think about it, it’s doesn’t use that much of water to wash it down and even if you asked them to and they still will refuse.
I also didn’t like Vientiane on my first visit in 2011 but because of you guys I gave it another try and fell in love with the city and country
