Deeply underrated city. Not necessarily because it’s packed with attractions, but the atmosphere is unmatched in the region. I’ve been to Vientiane five times since 2002 and I fall in love with it even more whenever I visit.
I was in Laos last week with my 2 daughters. It was so chill that even the animals were chill. My high light was Vangvieng. We stayed at Amari Hotel with a magical views. Enjoy your Laos journey.
another interesting place I like to know.specially their culture, tourism and food (street food in particular) to name a few.looking forward to the rest of your adventures there.
Just coming back from Vientiane to Bkk this morning. Such a nice city very peaceful and people are chill. No crowded, food is really good and cheap. One thing is it's so hard to communicate in English.
Wow so amazing adventure again thank you Molly and Matt for your hard work thank you so much you know im watching her in USA i always watching your amazing adventures even im so behind but i keep watching you and always checking if you guys have another upload and im so happy lots of watching your adventures take care and always be safe and thank you for the history of that country 💖💖💖⭐️⭐️⭐️👌👌👌
Thank you to the both of you for taking the time to do your research on the history of the country. This is what traveling around the world should be about. The appreciation of the places that you traveled to and not just about the glams.
Laos is definitely one of my favourite places- Todd, from - Now in Laos - is one of my favourite You Tubers , next to you two 😁 - very cool you two are in Laos 👍🙂
Laos is the most bombed country in the world. The USA bombed it during the Vietnam War. It damaged the pristine jungles and killed many wildlife like elephants and tigers.
It’s nice to see Laos and Cambodia finally developing. Haven’t been to either, but the entire Indochina region had a hard 20th century. Vientiane looks a pretty easy going capital, compared to the likes of Bangkok, Phnom Pehn and Ho Chi Minh city. I hope you do a food tour of the city.
Phnom Penh was one of the fastest growing cities in Indochina/Southeast Asia up until the Genocide and war (4 years + 10+ years) completely destroyed the momentum and urban planning that the city had going :( The Cambodian music and film industry was booming prior to the war, even screening internationally in Thailand, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Now that there's peace, Southeast Asia is rapidly advancing into this century :)))
Im laotion. Welcome to Laos Thank you very much to visit our country i hope you enjoy in laos ...With out Vientiane still have Vangvieng , Luangprabang, khuanmuan(thakhaek) there are many caves, Champasak pakse khonphapheng waterfall , 4000 island
This looks like a really peaceful place to visit. Your video was also very good and very well made and narrated. Hope you enjoyed the beer in the that 45C heat!
Vientiane has it's charm. It's pretty chill if that's what you're looking for. It's so hot during the day. People go out at night to enjoy the night markets . Some of our favorite places are Luang Prabang, Vang Vieng and Xiangkhoang where the Plain of Jars are located. Best time to visit Lao is January/February during their New Year. Lots of fun things to do, such the boat races on the Mekong River. The Water Festival, The Rockets Festival. These are just a few events around that time of year. You guys just missed it. Hope you had a great time there. A return visit is a must for their New Year. All the best .Mates 👍👍 Harriet, Jim and Yuki And go Chelsea !!
Thank you Matt and Molly and welcome to Laos! I’m glad you guys enjoyed it, I’m Laos local here and willing to show you guys around next time for the in-depth insider is what they call 😉 Take care and good luck to your next trip 🙏🏽♥️
Very well done video guys! Ive been living in laos since covid lockdowns got stuck, travelled through 70 % of the country , fell in love with a lass and just got married a week ago lol, so yeah we do love Laos for its peacefull pace
The way you honoured and shared the history of Laos made me tear up as my parents are from here. Thank you so much for how respectful you were and raising awareness about the tragedies of the secret war ! ❤
Thank you for visiting Laos. I hope you guys enjoy your stay. You guys are correct about capital city not like the other capital city. We're hoping stay that way peaceful and quiet. Enjoy and come back again 🙏
I smashed the like 👍🏼 button and subscribed to your channel just because you visited Laos 🇱🇦 and shared your experience. Great job 👏 now I’m thirsty for some cold crispy BeerLao 😅
Loved it! I'm guessing at some point you'll be heading to Luang Prabang? I was there last October, and absolutely fell in love with it! I did exactly the same as you and drew 77 quid's worth of Kip out of the ATM, it was fun being a multi millionaire for a few days! 😆
@dabbleandtravel The funniest thing for me was when I went to buy a SIM card at the airport. I was quoted a price in thousands of Kip, and automatically thought that was too expensive and was going to wait to see if I could get one cheaper in town. But then I thought about it, and realised they were charging me about £1.60!! 😁
"other side of the river is Udon Thani" !!! other side of the river is Sri Chiang Mai, and if you go east and cross the bridge you will be in Nong Khai. Udon THani is more than 80 kms away
Laos needs more tourists like you, but you all need spend more money there. Helps out the economy. Buddha park was created by one man on both banks of the Mekong. Thanks for learning some native lingo.
Chào, đi chơi công viên và vườn bách thú Việt Nam nhé. 🇻🇳 1. Công viên Hồ Tây 2. Công viên Thủ Lệ 3. Công viên Thiên đường Bảo Sơn 4. Thảo cầm viên Sài Gòn 5. Vinpearl Safari Phú Quốc.
We are moving to Phonhong Laos. My wifes home country. I love Laos. The people, the food, the scenery and mostly, the slow pace of life. As they say, Sa Bai, Sa Bai. Or "TAKE IT EASY, SLOW DOWN"
I know many Lao people that have left the US to live back in "hell world"?! Why would they do that if it's so bad? 18:15 Least here the presidents are not getting shot at. 18:05 I love Laos and will die here. Born in the West. I miss Laos if I'm away from it for more than a week.
My wife and I are Australian. We lived in Vientiane 2007-2015. The food in Laos is amazing and the people wonderful. What Laos does well is bread, coffee and beer. That's three food groups covered. Naked Espresso was started by two brother, Billie and Bobbie. There's also a third brother, Kook. Billie and Bobbie are Australian university alumni, studied in Melbourne. I think there are now three Naked Espressos in Vientiane and one in Vang Vieng. The first one was away from the central business district in Rue Dongpayna and was fashioned in the Melbourne café style, and only very small. The original Naked Espresso just around the corner where we lived, so it was our 'local' café. There's a saying among the Vientiane café set. "See you naked?", meaning, I'll meet you at Naked Espresso. Patuxai is sometimes nick named 'Runway Number Two". It was built from 'hijacked' (some say stolen) concrete brought in to extend Vientiane airport. About the football shirts. Football is huge in Laos. It's not the national sport but the Lao loving playing. Most organisations, bigger businesses etc, even the services like the army and police field teams, who play among each other. Even the government ministries field teams. It's a strictly amateur/social competition. The Lao Army shirt you bought was probably made and printed for the army players and any left overs, or seconds find themselves at the markets.
"Hello Molly and Matt, say hi from the USA! I'm eagerly waiting for more videos from Myanmar. Sorry to hear that you're already leaving Burma. Hope you have a wonderful time in Laos, another beautiful country! Wow, did you really pay £750 for a SIM card for just two weeks? That's so expensive! Take care."👋😊
Deeply underrated city. Not necessarily because it’s packed with attractions, but the atmosphere is unmatched in the region. I’ve been to Vientiane five times since 2002 and I fall in love with it even more whenever I visit.

It has changed. 30 years back even the capital Vientiane was a small town with few modern buildings.
Yes it’s crazy how much it’s developed (and still developing)
