great video about one of my all time sporting heroes who i met many times and even visited warren place a few times and a private tour back in 88 , a true legend and a gentleman, loved stevie cauthen too another sporting hero
Always thought Sir Henry Cecil and Charlie Whittingham from America were the 2 finest natural, God-gifted "horsemen" I've ever seen and I've followed this sport on a world wide basis for some 30 years now. Funny thing is Sir Henry always referred to the brilliant French trainer, Andre Fabre, as "God", so I think that nickname speaks to the respect that Sir Henry had for him also. Sir Henry was a true giant of the sport that sadly left us far too soon.
The 80's for me were the most competitive for me. Big stables always with quality horses. Cecil, Stoute, Hern, Harwood to name but a few all kept it so competitive and a sprinkle of smaller trainers with the odd bit of top quality now and again.
very special man blessed.
Sir Henry, top man, much-loved, much missed. RIP great trainer, great man
Sir Henry Cecil what a gentleman he was, truely missed beyond words.
R.I.P Sir Henry.. Thanks for the memories

Genius
Rip.Henry
.you gave my father many many thrills.
I have read the excellent book!
rip sir...
In my life the greatest
But he wasn't!
It,s pretty hard to miss when wealthy people send you those kind of horses.
And I went half wsy around the world 2 get there
Shame Henry and Brough have had a real falling out over the purpose / plot of what the book should have been about
