I knew all of these except the date for the AC. It is a very easy quiz for a British car buff. But what is a Jaguar E-Type Semi? The car shown is a Lightweight.
@@davidwarr8600 The car illustrated is one of the 12 or 13 Lightweight E-Type cars made for racing. 'Semi lightweight' is not a model name, but there were a few race cars made to partial lightweight spec - as always happens with racing programs.
Other than the date that the AC was launched I scored the lot.. not a tough quiz for those of us who were fortunate enough to grow up owning some of these in that magical era..
Got the AC date wrong (before my time), otherwise it has a US tilt with the Shelby Cobra (should be "AC Cobra") and the Semi (more commonly known as the "lightweight").
I missed the AC as well. But the Jag semi is a Lightweight..... But do not ask me to identify any American cars as they do not interest me. I'm 65...and I own a 190E 2.6 Mercedes.
A bit like the James Bond car which was actually a DB4 made to look like a DB5 by the factory as that around the changeover time and they wanted the publicity for the new model
@@harriasunta6123 It was reported in Octane many years years ago. There were more than car but Chassis DP216/1 was a factory prototype made from a DB4 from what I can glean. The other two may well have been early DB5s
The Bentley shown is not a blower model. It is a speed six 4-1/2 litre and interestingly it was not made until after the event it was supposed to have been part of..

OK, i looked it up. First time that I have seen this term, Semi Lightweight.

If you are going to have a quiz on classic cars then get the makers pronunciation correct, Jaguar is pronounced as the large cat!!!
He did pronounce it correctly for a Brit. The British say Jag-U-ware where the “a” in the third syllable is an “ah” sound and the “r” is non-rhotic.
Check our new quiz www.youtube.com/@QuizMyRide-ClassicCars
How is the pronunciation now? 😉
What exactly is a "jagwear" no wonder l got about 4 wrong and l'm not interested in cars.
There is no way in a million years I am an expert but being "of a certain age" with a mild interest I got only three wrong.

@@kbtred51 well in the case of Bentley if it was a Derby Bentley or later then Rolls-Royce built it.

Got two wrong. My fave is the Aston-Martin DB4 Zagato...
The Aston Martin was a DB 2-4 Mk3, not a DB3. The DB3 was an open racing car.
I'm pleased I only got 6 wrong, not being an English car buff . In N Z a mini was Austin.

E Type was a Lightweight for racing not known in Britain as semi.

The Aston Martin DB3 is in fact a DB Mk. 111
A bit like the James Bond car which was actually a DB4 made to look like a DB5 by the factory as that around the changeover time and they wanted the publicity for the new model
DB 2/4 MkIII to be exact -only Aston that was in the 007 books (Goldfinger). DB3 talked about was racing only, but did not win Le Mans, DBR1 did that

The mini was produced by austin not morris
the Mini was badged by both Austin (initially as the Austin Se7en- exactly that with the 'v' replaced by the figure 7) and Morris (initially the Mini-Minor)
Both were produced by Leyland.
Just wrong it was Morris although Austin had a version too and it was later BMC and finally Leyland.
Number 4 was wrong. Although the mini was badged as both Austin and Morris, the coopers were Austin.
