That classification is not correct. Cars like the Ford T, or the VW Beetle (not the New Beetle) have always remained the same during the years in which they were sold, but other cars have changed their shape completely, keeping only the model name, so they cannot be considered as if they were the same car.
From Wikipedia: “The Volkswagen Beetle was produced by the German company Volkswagen from 1938 to 2003. One of the most iconic cars in automotive history, the Beetle is noted for its distinctive shape. Its production period of 65 years is the longest of any single generation of automobile and its total production of over 21.5 million is the most of any car of a single platform.”
Wrong, this is from 1906 and over. Not of "all time" there were cars before the Model T, Mercedes Benz. Also the "F series" shouldn't really be on the list considering its a whole series of trucks including f150, f250, f350, f450, f550, f650, f70 that is a whole series of vehicles, if you would single out the f150 for example it wouldn't even reach top 3
@@liridonrrahmanaj1948because mercedes benz started making cars in 1886 (they made the ‘first’ car) and ford didnt start till 1903. So it’s easy to make more if your competitor isn’t competing yet.
Not only that- the F series starts from a 1 tonne pickup and through all weight ratings to larger real trucks such as F700. Thats many models of trucks- not one.
Because before the model T, no cars were mass produced and seeing how this timeline video is all about largest production numbers, before the T is completely beside the point.
The video is titled „best selling“ not mass produced. Also mass produced is not defined. Ford Model T was the first model built at an assembly line though.
Many different sizes of ford pickups/ larger trucks all combined to make it look like they were many. F100, F150, 250, 350, etc. Etc. They are many models, not one. Also , they aren't cars- so shouldnt be in the list, like the hilux.
I call BS on your chart as numbers grew in the early 40's when in actual fact is all car production stopped during WW2. Also no such car as the Beetle back the was the KLF before the war and Type 1 after production started by the British after the war. Before handing back to the Germans. Plus you had Impala numbers still climbing well after the car was discontinued. Your chart is garbage.
Where are the true British cars like Austin and Morris. They copied Ford's production line methods, so a lot were built. Also, Britain had the World's largest vehicle industry post WWII, so that must count for something ?
A very enlightening graphic demonstrating the fact that, still, to this day, after thousands of years of development and the proliferation of factual knowledge, people still buy lousy vehicles for themselves-- vehicles whose ridiculous defects are practically intentional as examples of planned obsolescence, and these vehicles fail very routinely and very pathetically. Still. It's as if people simply refuse to advocate for themselves, and cannot admit to themselves that the global automaker industry doesn't give a flying fuck about them. Only their money.
Thank you for this comment. I've been saying it for years, the only best selling cars are those made by automobile makers interested in the consumers money instead of the safety and reliability on the vehicle. Which are very poorly designed and engineered but yet because of things like fuel economy in the midst of fuel crisis etc. you're believed that the most economical car is the best choice. We end up with misleading totals presented in this vehicle. I think of all these cars if you had to choose on popularity and sales and include safety and reliability for your family then it would have to be the VW Golf followed by Beetle for it's longevity in production as well as safety and reliability.
@GrantDavids-tp1mn The Beetle, yes, certainly. The Golf? I wouldn't know. There is an easily found list of examples of very well-designed, very respectfully manufactured, very stout, intelligent, reliable automobiles that have been seen in our world. I could give you a list, but you can easily do it yourself. Knowing this, still, people continue to pay with their hard-wrought money for miserable tricks like Range Rover, Jeep, and all the rest of it. Some of these carmakers have actually *never* been serious about respectable engineering. Not even interested, in fact.

I agree, the Toyota Corolla is a farce.

It’s also noted as being the prototype for gasing people in nazi Germany.
Amazing the Model T is still on the top 10 of all cars sold.
FIAT 124 was the same car instead Corolla, Escort and Golf
Also the Lada's and the early SEATs were FIAT 124's.
Why does it show Honda civic stopped selling while it's still being sold?

I find it hard to believe a million+ Beatles were produced before war’s end.
They were super cheap & easy to make. The German army needed cars.
Might be best selling bug morris minor is the best car ever
Ford F-series and Toyota Hilux are (pick up-) trucks, not cars.
Oh god - Americans will think they invented cars
Not only that- the F series starts from a 1 tonne pickup and through all weight ratings to larger real trucks such as F700. Thats many models of trucks- not one.
The vw beetle is a shit box not a car and it’s on the list
5 de 20 de Ford, un dato brutal.
The Renault 5/Supercinq sold just above 9 million units between 1972 and 1996
Why not start in 1880s and include the first cars, that had multiple successors by 1908?!
Thank you for asking this question. Those in the US are bias to the Ford company and the model T Ford's success

I see hilux stopped before it ended- how so when they continue to be sold to this day?
Civic golf clio corolla son tramposos son distintas generaciones distintos coches , con el mismo nombre.
Surprising to see the Corsa that high
2x speed is not enough!
Why does the Beetle stop so soon. Don't they still build them?
This is not a good comparison because some of the cars listed were not produced like the Ford model T

No Civic sales for the last several years??

Primeiro carro da história.
Benz de 1886.

Why not just start at 1913?
Wrong information
