This is great info! I just wrapped the stock intake tube on my 2022 Tacoma! I also insulated the inside of the air box!

If nobody else has mentioned it, for your intake tube try out the gold or silver tape that reflects radient heat to see if it out preforms that fiberglass wrap. Typically that wrap is used to lock heat in. Not to keep it out. Like on downpipes or manifolds/headers. Obviously it can sorta keep some heat out but id bet the reflective tape would preform better
did your method to my K&N apollo CAI and it helps a little,might double up on it and do a 2nd layer

Planning to wrap the insulation wrap with reflective tape to further combat the heat soak
It works. Not the best look but works to keep the temps lower and less heat soak
I bet your hands burned after wrapping the intake . Gloves would have helped preventing the cuts . Great video

another thing you can do is install a cooler thermostat that will lower your intake temps down as well.
Extra Cooling for coolant liquid is not recommended! The factory set the correct temperature for the best combustion engines

Using the exhaust wrap on the factory intake system works better because your constantly pulling the ambient air
Wrap has glass fiber in it. Use gloves kids lol. Wrap the exhaust intake headers too, will make a big difference
In order for this work effectively you need to wrap it a lot and wrap more heat component the car like radiator hoses, exhaust ect... But it does work you just need a lot of it... Plus it makes the engine bay look mean...

It does feel a lot more power and sitting on a stoplight does really increase the air temps too much.
This make sense but its flawed, the outside temperature at 1 when the sun is at its peak vs 5 when it has already began to cool may be that 5-10 degree difference, I could be wrong but it should work but maybe not as drastic as it seems

Get a proper enclosed box. Temps will be much better.
The wrap is for the intake tube to not heat up. And when you close your hood the top gets sealed

@BoysToysHellcat did some driving yesterday my intake air Temps were about 127° and it was 91° outside temperature.
Now wrap it with reflective tape
Thought the inter cooler cooled the air before it hit the supercharger
I believe this is a water cooled super charger.

Yes it does. Much louder than stock. Plenty of whining videos in my channel.

It's called a dust cover
it acts kinda like a pre-filter. its a barrier to protect the filter and give one more barrier before anything gets to the filter and it keeps the actual filter cleaner over time.
The one I have is water proof, which is perfect bc I have a ram air induction hood that feeds directly into my CAI and now I don't worry about it getting wet in the rain.
Is that intake cover reduce air going to intake?
No. It's a dust cover

So this dropped temps up to 26 degrees did you notice more power on wide open throttle ?
Yes it does feel more power. My best 0-60 times are achieved when temps are low
@@BoysToysHellcat I have TVS magnuson blower on my car and IAT will be 50 degrees higher than ambient temp I wanna try this wrap on my intake and see if can drop them 20-30 degrees

I have not dynoed it. But I also have the Gt haus American Roar Racing exhaust that dynos at 35-45 hp additional HP for hellcats
