Not sure if it's a German meal Deb but I've seen several videos of this and some people call it cabbage cake's.. so being the cabbage connoisseur that I am I decided I had to try these haha!! Thanks for watching Deb and I hope you're week is going great as well 👍
Cabbage cakes, cabbage rolls, fried cabbage, cabbage soup and stuffed cabbage are very popular in the south. Grandma even made candied cabbage when I was a kid.
Thanks David! I never realized there were so many ways to fix up cabbage. I've had it in soups and in cole slaw and I've boiled it(then with butter on it) but I think that's it. Never EVER heard of candied cabbage. Was that sweet like candied yams?
I can't wait to try this with the addition of small amounts of canned salmon and sardines. As a kid, Mom could buy a 14 oz can of the best high grade red sockeye salmon for 25 cents; now it costs $15 a can, so I settle for the cheap barely pink style. Thanks for a forest of wonderful recipes to skip through. BTW, I'll be using the 8 inch Dash Griddle and freezing the leftover patties. This is my first experimental recipe I'll be trying based on Mom's Salmon croquet recipe Salmon Sardines Cole Slaw Cakes Dash 4" or 8" griddle 1 cup shredded Cole Slaw mix 1 tin of Sardines in oil 1 small can of Salmon ~3-4 oz 2 anchovy strips 1/4 cup Chopped onion 1/4 cup Chopped celery Dill, Tarragon, Garlic, salt, other spices of choice 1 Tbsp lemon juice 2 eggs, beaten 1 Tbsp mayonnaise 1 Tbsp ketchup 2 Tbsp sweet pickle relish 1/2 cup bread crumbs Mix ingredients and allow to marinate 10-15 minutes Form into patties and roll lightly in more bread crumbs Fry in Dash 4" or 8" griddle for 4-8 minutes
Going to try this in my dash Egg Bite maker, maybe with a dash of sesame oil & soy sauce. Looks good!
I have got to get one of those griddles!! That looks so good :)
Luv cabbage, luv this recipe! TY! 😊
Can’t wait to try this!
Is that a German type of meal? Never heard of it before. Hope you're having a great week!
