  • Welcome back to MACkiteboarding! In this video, our resident expert Tucker, will introduce the groundbreaking 2024 North Loft Pro, a game-changing wing from North that's set to revolutionize the light wind sector. We'll deep-dive into its outstanding features and materials, and give you an in-depth review of its performance in real-world conditions. This wing, available in sizes 7m and 8m, has been vigorously tested and received with overwhelming excitement by our team, who are keen to discuss the unique features and state-of-the-art materials that make it stand out from the crowd.
    The 2024 North Loft Pro boasts numerous features that make it a fantastic choice for light wind conditions. Among them, a newly designed front edge handle made from a durable foam rubber material provides exceptional grip and control, while remaining lightweight and resilient. Its innovative profile and foil section gives the wing impressive power and lift, making it highly effective in light winds. Additionally, the Pro series features lightweight, carbon fiber grip lock handles, offering the benefits of a hard handle design but with greater grip real estate.
    We'll also discuss the North inflation system, which has been fine-tuned for this model, and delve into the multitude of advances borrowed from the successful 2023 Mode. This isn't just a light wind version of another model, it's a completely redesigned wing, and we can't wait to show you why it's so special!

    Hey Tucker. Thanks, as always, for the detailed review and excellent content! Now that you have had an opportunity to ride both, I would love to get your take the differences as between the Mode Pro and Loft Pro. Living in Florida, we get a lot of lighter wind conditions in the summer. However, at about 70 kilos, I am not sure if should go with the 7m Loft Pro which seems to be more of a dedicated light-wind wing, or if I would be better off with the 6.8M Mode Pro as more of an all-around wing that could also get me going in fairly light conditions. Thanks again.

      It depends on your skills, gear, and intended wind range. The Loft Pro has a ton of grunt and doesn't mind riding on the low end of it's range. The top end is still respectable as well. The Mode Pro is happiest in the upper half of the wind range. You can ride it lower but it's more technical and not going to showcase it's performance. I'd say if you have a 5m or larger, the 7m Loft Pro would be the best choice for Florida conditions. If you have a 4m or are into racing type riding, the Mode Pro is excellent but you will sacrifice some low end. -Tucker

    Hello Tucker, good review here, thanks a lot. However you say it has the new canopy material Matrix but in the website it says it has the N-HTRS. I think they hasn't provided that feature because in light winds conditions it doesn't really matter. I'm waiting for my 8m loft pro to be delivered soon. I'm on 85kg and I'll use it with my appleslice v2 83l on those light wind days (from 6knots to 15knots). Cheers

    Great review Tucker! Can i ask.. Whats the upwind ability of the Loft pro? Compared to the mode pro?

    • @MACkiteboarding
      @MACkiteboarding  5 місяців тому

      The Loft Pro is surprisingly good upwind for such a large wing. Huge improvement over the Nova LW. Not as good as the Mode Pro but that's to be expected for larger wings with more lift. -Tucker

    Off topic, which board leash are you using with your harness here?

      Thank you for sharing the stoke, my friend. 🤙🏽 Tucker is wearing his favorite leash, the Kaohi Double Coil Grip Harness Leash, found via the link below. Good winds to you! -Aaron

    Hi, how does the North Loft Pro in 8m compare to the Cabrinha 8m Vision?
    Which one get you faster on the foil with less Wind ( heavy rider 110KG)? Thanks :)

    • @MACkiteboarding
      @MACkiteboarding  9 місяців тому +1

      Ohhhhh, good question! As a heavier rider, I'd say the Loft Pro will get you up in about the same wind but a little easier and more forgiving since it's more compact and has a stiffer, snappier frame. The Vision is amazing and really good in light winds as well but the span and flex is more wearing and technical to pump IMHO. -Tucker

    I have a F-one cwc 8m v1. I ride in Canada on Lake Erie and a lot of the time in less than 10 knots - sometimes as low as 6 knots (down wind board with mega foil). Love the handling and low end of my old f-one cwc but am thinking of upgrading. Looking at f-one cwc v3 9m and North Loft Pro 8m. Which do you think has more low end grunt and would it be substantially more then my old cwc 8m?

      Very light considering its size. Not quite as light as Aluula models -Tucker

    so this vs the nova light? Worth the extra $300? Can it really sail in less wind? I'm 225lbs.

      100% worth the upgrade as a heavier rider. I liked the Nova LW but the Loft Pro is a big upgrade this year. -Tucker

      @@MACkiteboarding Do you need a DW board to take advantage of this wing or would it still be worth it with a regular foil board (in my case a 125L Sky at 200 lbs)?

    • @MACkiteboarding
      @MACkiteboarding  11 місяців тому +1

      @@briansangeorzan4986 Yes, still excellent with a normal wing board. It has a top of grunt and lift to get you on foil no matter the board choice. -Tucker

    What about upper wind range? I really like my Nova LW, but riding overpowered is a bit of an issue, which in inconsistent gusty lake conditions often is unavoidable. We often have 8-10kn, then 16 for half an hour, then back to 10 and so forth..

    • @MACkiteboarding
      @MACkiteboarding  11 місяців тому

      I'm very impressed by the upper end range. I've ridden the 8m up to about 18kn and the 7m up to 22kn comfortably so far. I'm confident I could push them a little higher but it is a very powerful wing so at some point it's just too much power. -Tucker

    • @andiabel212
      @andiabel212 11 місяців тому +1

      Cool thanks so quite a bit more than nova lw or what's your weight? any comparison to mode7/mode pro 6.8?

    • @MACkiteboarding
      @MACkiteboarding  11 місяців тому +1

      @@andiabel212 I'm 200lbs. Yes, I find I can ride it higher and more comfortably than the Nova LW. It's far more powerful than the Mode V1 7m. Haven't flown the 6.8m Mode Pro yet but I'd expect the Mode pro to have a higher range and be more forward pulling. The Loft Pro has a ton of lift and grunt which gets you up and riding very easily in super light winds. - Tucker

    Wondering how this compares to the new Duotone Ventis.

    • @MACkiteboarding
      @MACkiteboarding  11 місяців тому +1

      I think that is the big question. We'll have a lightwind wing shootout coming soon but... I find the Loft Pro has more low end and a wider sweet spot in those really light days. The Ventis likes a little more wind. The D/lab version has a bit more top end range and a lighter weight. -Tucker
