    Such an epic video! Thanks so much, watching it from Lord Howe Island, Australia. I'm the only one winging here and therefore so many of my learning's are off UA-cam and Tucker especially. I'm the same weight at Tucker but not as advanced, looking to upgrade to a 85L mid length and 1050 Sk8 as an all rounder for 17-30 knots. This video helped confirm that decision. Thanks!

    Hi. Nice video. Tucker is awesome and I respect all his views going back to kite foil days. But gee, you chose 5 very expensive things, so I have to chime in and give my 5 things, for a more budget conscious consumer and for a 16-30 knot location (not worried for less than 16 knots because I will kite foil on those days). 1. North SF1230 carbon complete with 85cm mast and 70cm fuse. 2. North HA1050 front wing. 3. Say a Fanatic wing board circa 95L. 4. Duotone Slick 5m. 5. Slick 4m. There you go saved you a few thousand bucks! 👍

      You made some excellent choices and saved some cash along the way. Nice Job! Maybe we should work on another series.... "$4k to spend"?

    Tucker, Messiah of Wing Gear (got the Messianic looks too 😅) you've guided me with yout videos and comments/replies .. through some great gear selection from fhe early NP glide foil (XL) to the NP glide foil (KD maui designed) HP wings which were actually really good, to the North Nova v1.. looking like a black Ferrari (great wing! For a v1) to transitioning into the North Sonar HA and recently to the SF with the s208 stab. All your advice on these items was spot on!
    Thank you and keep going 🙏

    Looking at the sixty L Omen as a replacement for my older Fone Rocket board also sixty L. I’m wondering about the tail rocker where the foil box is…looks quite flat compared to the Fone style boards. Can you say for sure? I do appreciate a bit more rocker there as it allows a bit more nose up especially at higher speeds, nothing worse than the nose down angles the flatter tail rocker boards ride at. I understand and use mast base shims but would prefer to just have the angle in the board itself. Id like to move away from eps core and get a closed cell foam board, but not sure any styles/makes have that tail rocker I’m after. Thanks.

      Yes, slightly less nose up than the F-one but not enough to feel nose down. Very neutral. -Tucker

    I noticed recently that appletree has changed the dimensions of their DW boards on their website. The new "wide" boards are similar to the old "narrow" boards and the new "narrow" ones are even skinnier. Have you had a chance to try any of their new "narrow" boards?

    • @MACkiteboarding
      @MACkiteboarding  11 місяців тому +1

      I haven't been on any of the super narrow ones yet. I have ridden some similar models in those dims and I'm sure they will be fantastic for anyone with some experience. -Tucker

    Hey Tucker just wondering..how do you go on a 60 L board at 90kg? The eagle 890 must be super efficient?

    • @MACkiteboarding
      @MACkiteboarding  11 місяців тому

      Yes, the 890 is quite efficient for a small foil, as is the 60L Omen. The key to riding any small board/foil is just having good power in the sail so you might size up a half meter vs. what you'd ride on a larger setup. -Tucker

    Hi Tucker. Do you think the Omen Flux 60 lts is easier to get going than the appleslice 60 lts? I have the appleslice and is a lot of work on my bad knee fighting to stay in balance on choppy water. Once I get some speed I can stand up and go, no problem and I love riding it paired with the sk8 950. I like all your videos, thank you for sharing.

    • @MACkiteboarding
      @MACkiteboarding  11 місяців тому +2

      Yes, without question. The Slice 60L is shorter, wider, flattter. so it's more corky and less efficient.

      200lbs roughly before neoprene. More like 220lbs with all the gear in winter ;)

    KT boards are least durable, you can ding them by just looking at them.

    • @MACkiteboarding
      @MACkiteboarding  11 місяців тому

      They did have some issues on the V1s with oversanding but all of the newer ones we've seen have been fantastic. -Tucker

      @@MACkiteboarding hi Tucker
      I'm a big fan.
      Try to look at it as a costumer perspective. You and friends drop a +1k on a product and barely get one season.
      Never again!

      @@sergemann5951 For sure, that's a disappointing experience. KT did replace a lot of those boards. Did you file a warranty claim? Give us a shout and we'll get it sorted. -Tucker

    "A board that will last 10 years..." LOL these boards are outdated in 10 MONTHS! They may last but they won't be getting ridden in even two years due to the rapid advances we are seeing.

    • @MACkiteboarding
      @MACkiteboarding  11 місяців тому +1

      I guess that's one point of view but many riders are looking to keep their gear longer. We are at a point where we aren't seeing lightspeed changes in normal boards. Of course, there is always something to tweak but it's not making groundbreaking affects on your experience so most riders won't have much benefit to re-investing in a new board every year. -Tucker

    • @ctduncan1
      @ctduncan1 11 місяців тому

      The new downwind boards were super niche and basically only made by Kalama only 18 months ago, now everyone is making/riding a copy, prone riders are riding longer mid-length boards now, winging boards are getting longer and narrower, KT said in a podcast recently that he has a new design breakthrough coming out that is fully 20% better than his current Dragonfly, the board times are changing faster than ever! Foil progression does seem to have slowed fortunately but the boards are moving fast and furious! @@MACkiteboarding

      70 times in the water is all I use a board for. For me that's 6 months, its outdated even before that
