  • In this Wing Wednesday episode, Tucker from MACkiteboarding introduces the new Ozone Liteforce Wing, designed for light wind conditions in 2024. He reviews the 7.7m model, ideal for heavier riders who need larger wings for light winds.
    The wing features a medium stiffness leading edge handle, which is lightweight and includes a detachable leash that can connect to a wrist cuff or harness. The improved hard handles are narrow for easy grip and angled for natural wrist positioning, reducing fatigue. A big, stiff strut ensures the wing maintains its shape and power transfer, even in stronger winds. The wing uses Ozone-style Boston valves for independent inflation, allowing different parts to be inflated separately to maintain flotation if one section fails.
    The Ozone Liteforce boasts an upgraded Dacron frame that is lightweight, stiff, and comparable to premium materials, enhancing performance without high costs. The ripstop canopy is durable, with a well-placed wide window near the strut for better visibility. Replaceable battens in the trailing edge reduce flutter, ensuring smooth and efficient performance. Reinforcements in the leading edge add durability and stiffness, contributing to high-end performance and upwind ability.
    Tucker praises the Liteforce for its exceptional light wind performance, providing adequate power, speed, and maneuverability. He recommends sizing up to get the most out of the wing, as it rides well with more power. The wing feels light and responsive, making it suitable for both advanced and new riders. However, Tucker notes that the proprietary Ozone valves are less convenient than more common valve types. He also prefers a more secure waist belt attachment or a minimalist wrist cuff over the included plastic buckle.
    Overall, the Ozone Liteforce Wing is highly recommended for its light wind performance, durability, and user-friendly features. Its fair pricing and high-quality construction make it an excellent choice for riders seeking a reliable and fun light wind wing.

    Be interesting to measure cord of inflated strut and wingspan of both the 7.7m liteforce vs V4 F1 CWC 8m for a comparison think all wings should have this spec out especially in big wings.surprised the lite force has more lowend than the V4 CWC 8m dang

      For sure. I could get that at some point but it's also a bit misleading metric as the wingtip shape, handle position, and dihedrial has a lot to do with it as well. -Tucker

    Thanks for the review! I'm a kitesurfer living in a low wind area and I want to get in to the wing foil sport, so I'm a beginner who is looking for a easy handle lightwind wing. How would you compare this wing to a F1 Strike or something similar?

      @MACkiteboarding  21 день тому

      Yes, this would be comparable to an F-one Strike CWC. This is a little lighter but does have a slightly wider span. If you are a shorter rider, you may prefer the CWC. -Tucker

      Winging in light wind is not great if they’re no swell.
      I would stick to kite foiling

    For marginal wind. Which wing would you recommend? Vs cwc aluula?

      Tough call, they are both really nice wings and equally suitable in my mind. The CWC is a little more expensive and I like the Ozone handles better so I guess I'd go with the Ozone Liteforce personally. -Tucker

      @@MACkiteboardingthanks ❤ which one has the best low end (vs cwc 4)?

      @MACkiteboarding  16 днів тому

      @@Wingsurf Similar low end. I can get the same out of these. I guess the Liteforce is a 7.7m and the CWC is an 8m so technically the Liteforce has more low end/area. -Tucker

    Nice review, but when do we here more about that sexy AFS EVO? under your board?
    regarding the waist leash, I have them on my Flux for a year now and it is by far the best/strongest one I have tried so far. the bucket is solid.
    Would love to have that leash/waist belt on all my wings.

      Still working on the Evo review. It's a great foil. One of my favorites in the AFS lineup. 950 is a great do-it-all size for me. -Tucker
