Hi Chris & Hailey, thanks so much for a very nice review and for choosing our place. Your feedback is heard, an upgraded TV will be delivered tomorrow :) Enjoy your stay!
I would have chosen option 4 because the price is reasonable and the condo unit is modern and has all the practical essentials that are required for living. Thanks
@@RetiredWorkingForYou Very funny...and spot-on! I had a friend on House Hunters...he was scripted pretty much as a d**% and in real life is the kindest, gentlest guy around....we all pretty much fell on the floor laughing, watching his premiere on cable!
Great choice, I stayed there before back in 2018, I'm staying right behind you at Nimmana, another great Condo complex. I'll keep my eyes open for you around the neighborhood.
I am a Canadian as well but grown up in Chiangmai. All of these are super high price. You can rent about 10,000 to 15000 for the whole house with your own private space around the house but yes it will not be in middle of the city like Nimman, but if you have car then a little further of city would not be a problem. But it is fun watching your UA-cam. Missing all street food there. They all delicious 😋 😍 for sure
Timely video as my wife and I are hoping to be in Chiang Mai next November for a month to escape Victoria BC's 'monsoon' season. Your video has helped us to narrow down the area of the city we'll likely be picking, and would agree it is a desirable part of town, having been to Chiang Mai twice before. We probably won't have a car but the tuk tuks and those shared red buses will serve us just fine for the relatively short jaunt into the old city area, for example. Glad you are able to watch the Leafs from there! Thanks for the great video!
I would also choose option 4. Just seems right for a month stay. Simple and practical. Option 1 and 2 was too big. Option 3 would be a nice experience if I stayed a few nights.
Option 4 is great for you, in Nimman area and practical room. Option 2 and 3 the condo is in CMU area, back side of the uni where most of students live, hang out street food, heaps of student flats, quite busy and crowded.
I went for option 4, not only was the price more reasonable but it was a lot more practical. I had a feeling that Haley was going to get her way as well! Though I was surprised that you choose option 3! Then again, it was a very nice looking place as well!
Thailand alive again. Thanks for your VDO. I always listen your VDO for practice my English listening skill. Thanks. Sorry if mistakes grammar some point.
Believe me Chris, Even i chose option 4 with same reasons that she gave, overall good price with nice atmosphere. 2 &3 were little spooky i guess. Good choice Haley🙌
Great look at the 4 options - I would have said No.3 , but my concern was the bed lol - 4 is a good choice - Thanks Chris - look forward to more soon 😎👌👍🙏🍺
For 25000 Baht per month , you can stay in a nice hotel at the moment , in a good location (breakfast included). I have been a regular visitor to Chiangmai for many years and it has never in my experience been this cheap , even in the days when the exchange rate was significantly more favourable for me .
Hi Chris, great and interesting video, thanks. I chose OPTION 3, based on price and general look. Option 1 - Too pricey Option 2 - Strange layout Option 3 - Only 1,000 Baht more than Option 4 and nicely designed / well maintained. Option 4 - A close 2nd - We know Hailey is the boss! In Feb 2021, I moved condos. My old place on Soi 81 On Nut Bangkok was 10,000 baht. It has since been advertised at 6,000 Baht and then fell to 5,000 Baht. So bargains can be found. Cheers, Bangkok David.
I think you chose the right option for you guys. I would choose my usual Smith Residence in Chiang Mai Gate near Saturday night market. Lovely location and price!
You lucky man. Haili is so sweet and a good sport with the videos. You made me laugh, so that 's good. I liked #4 also, very practical. But please, please do a video on that street food scene! Cheers!
Avid Bruins fan here. It's awesome subscribing to the NHL package to get all the games here live in Chiang Mai. We live just east of the Maya Mall in Hillside 4 I've been here just over four years now. We enjoy watching your videos and when time permits we would love to hook up for a cup of coffee and lunch somewhere to touch base and chat. Please consider and welcome to Chiang Mai.
In the current environment I’m surprised (shocked actually) that Number 1 is asking well over USD 4,000 per month. That’s exorbitant and well more than what it is worth and what they should be charging. Anyway, I’ll be in Hua Hin on 10 December for four weeks - cannot wait 🇹🇭🔜🙏🏻
Hey Charles, I am the owner of townhouse 1. Chris didn't ask for the monthly price, he calculated the daily price x 30. We usually rent it for under US$2k per month. We charge US$150 per night as the location is incredible and certainly worth the money. Come and visit the area and you will understand.
Loved this video! I would have gone with #4 too - didn’t like the first 3 - the first was nice with another couple maybe - 2nd was a weird layout - 3rd, I’m too old to be sitting on the floor!
The airbnb prices seem much higher than normal rental contracts - in some cases you could get 3 months at comparable places for the price of 1! Is there any reason you guys went with the airbnb route as opposed to looking for month to month agreement at a building or through an agency? appreciate your videos as always! I think I would have chosen option 3 or 4 as well! 4 perhaps winning out based on convenient location and the best price!
we had very little time to look and we are only here for a month so we went that route. thanks for the tip though, next year we'll most likely come back up here during the nice weather season and do it that way....
Just wanted to second this - option 4 wasn't too bad of a deal, but you can get a 1bed with a HUGE bathroom and good wifi in nimman on a 1mo contract for 18k, or 12k for a 3month contract. Chiang Mai is one of the only places in the world airbnbing isn't really worth it, unless you stay only for a week, especially with how nice hotels/hostels are if you don't want a long-term stay.
Pricing depends on a particular listing. There are bargains out there. I've recently switched to a long term contact from monthly rentals on Arbnb. I am a little bit surprised that my final monthly cost is pretty much the same as I used to have on Airbnb.
I would have chosen 4 too. #3 was good but needing to sit and sleep on the floor would have been a deal breaker at my age. But I hope you'll do a video of that night street food place! I want to try it out in February.
I think you made the right choice at least for me was the neighborhood I am now very interested in seeing more video of that particular neighborhood looks amazing
I definitely would have gone for one of the two last options. I love the swimming pool view from option #3 but I prefer the practicality of option #4. And then, the surroundings would have had me choose #4. Haylee made the right decision!
👋🏻Hey Chris and Haylee, we as a family with 2 teenagers would have to pick #1 😊 but if it was just the 2 of us we’d choose #4 as well. Haylee has such great taste and I love how you try put your foot down but it didn’t work did it 🤣🤣 ❤️Thanks for the awesome video and information. Stay Sane and keep the videos coming. 🍻Cheers🍻 ❤️🇨🇦
I would also choose option #4 as there are only two of you and the room is nice and well-equipped, with good neighborhood. The Hello Kitty looks good but I also don’t like the Japanese-style living room (knee problem.). I think you made a good decision.
For 2 persons i would pick number 4, more hously. Option 3 missed it cause of the low beds buddy 😉 great pick Haley 🥳🙌 And as always C.J., C Ya in the next one, cheers 🍻 Enjoy Chiang Mai guys 👊
Hi Chris I am new to your channel and I am American. Love your videos keep up the great work. Yes I liked 4 also. I was living in Vietnam for 15 years and had to come home to do retirement paperwork and got stuck in 2019 October. I will go back hopefully this year sometime. Thanks for your videos once again. Charlie.
Before #4 became an option I wouldn't have chosen any of them. I am with Haylee and 4 was the nicest place. I was in Chiang Mai ony 1st trip to Thailand 15 years ago and boy it is unrecognisable now. I hope you love the month up therr
Great video, but yes these prices are unreal in a season where there are almost no tourists. Couldn't live in any of those places :-) Loved that shot in the university park. My favorite spot. Love the coffee place there. Keep up the good work and have fun in Chiang Mai, Maybe we bump in to eachother, I'll say hello! :-)
Yea we are in Phuket now headed to Koh Phangan for 3 months and then to Chang Mai. 1200 US???? No way. Supply and demand. They are way overpriced. I was shocked. Too many hipsters 😂😂😂😂
I would've chosen Option #4 as well! We'll be in Chiang Mai in Jan/Feb (at least until burning season makes it tough on us) and we'll be staying in a similar unit in the Nimman area. Looking forward to it!
number 4 was the best choice just by the Neiman area alone and i am 100% sure if you decide to stay on in this area for a year lease you can find a similar unit for $400-500 a month L.A Rob
Nimman is very hip and adjacent to many places of Chiangmai’s atttractions. So I think you made the right decision. If it were me, though, I would try to find one with a clearer view of the mountain.
I live in Chaing Mai. Those prices are insanely high! Especially in current times.
Ripoffs for sure, I would've kept looking!
Really ?? How much for a nice place?
I thought so too, when looking I found many options as nice as option 4, that were listed for between $550-750USD/mth
@@krugmeup2162 Anywhere from $550 to $800
Yep for sure..
Hi Chris & Hailey, thanks so much for a very nice review and for choosing our place. Your feedback is heard, an upgraded TV will be delivered tomorrow :) Enjoy your stay!
I'm Thai. All of them are overprice. For example No.4 should be around 15k - 25k per month
Well when tourist wanna live the international life they will have to pay the price for sure. Rich immigrates lol
This’s general price, it’s air bnb term not long term. And it’s in nimman area.
That's why you need a local person to negotiate. My Colombian wife ALWAYS gets a better deal when we're in Colombia.
Its airbnb
Smart decision ! You chose the perfect G/F ! IMHO , Option #4 is the best. Enjoy 😄
I would have chosen option 4 because the price is reasonable and the condo unit is modern and has all the practical essentials that are required for living. Thanks
How's fire safety in Thailand?
She wanted to stay at option 4....you didn't want to stay at option 4....so she compromised and you stayed at option 4 🤣
Love that!
🤣
Happy wife, happy life
The debate part was fun and Hailey is so cute!
glad you liked that.....we wanted to spoof the TV show 'House Hunters International' with that little bit!
@@RetiredWorkingForYou Liked the drama in the end :) so cool

Excellent video Chris!
#4 looked like it had good vibes about the space. The pool was a winner, winner, chicken dinner.
I agree with Haylee, option 4 was the best as the layout seemed better and I like the neighbourhood.
Four all the way! You guys picked the best one!

I haven't finished watching the video, but I picked #3. Good video so far, and will continue watching. Thanks again for sharing.
I would also choose option 4. Just seems right for a month stay. Simple and practical. Option 1 and 2 was too big. Option 3 would be a nice experience if I stayed a few nights.
I'd choose Option 2, just for the views and the street food. But Option 4 was my second choice because of the neighborhood.
Option 4 is great for you, in Nimman area and practical room. Option 2 and 3 the condo is in CMU area, back side of the uni where most of students live, hang out street food, heaps of student flats, quite busy and crowded.

#1 is hideous for the price. I would've picked number 4 as well. Good job Hailey!
