It makes sense to buy in your working years. In retirement I want the flexibility of being able to move, maybe to a different city, whoever I please. Much easier to just rent.

@@davidvalez2256 if you’re not a citizen of Thailand, it never makes sense to buy. What if the country outlaws foreign ownership of any kind? We all know how wishy washy Thailand is with laws. Lol

Obviously depends whether you can get a mortgage or not, but one big, and obvious difference, is that you dont build equity when renting. You should in theory recoup a lot of your money when you sell.
I get thats obvious, but i sometimes like to state the obvious

The biggest problem with Realestate in Thailand is maintenance. They don't maintain the complexes even though you pay a yearly fee. I've seen some places only 5 years old that look so bad. Better to just rent and switch to newer nicer place. BUT buying is nice because you can have the furniture you want and don't have to deal with crappy landlords.

Total investment so far is ~12.5m baht

This channel is nice and fun but sometime the grind is no grind anymore, this is ridiculous, imagine the median income of a Thai person and what these types of pricing does to the region, it's a shame.
