Outstanding; less painful from your straightforward approach & layman’s terms. Helps me a lot with my Astra 1.8; and no music in your video (which would be a distraction).
I've just brought a 2008 vectra with the 1.8 engine at 126k been through the service history and no mention of the belt being done so I'm going to have a go at it so thank you for the video 😀
Not a bad job to do, I thought it would be alot more involved being a Vauxhall. I did a Ford Fiesta the other week with a stretch auxiliary belt, what a pain, as I did not have the special tool to do it. Great and clear instructions as always. It must take you ages to film and edit. If I was doing the job the bleep machine would be worn out.😁😆
👍 yeah them stretchy belts are a right pain! yeah it does take a while, doubles the time of the job id say , then a good few hours editing! feels rewarding once its all complete! ha . haha ive had a few bleep moments ive had to edit out 🤣
Great video, used it to do the belt on my zafira. Only thing I found was putting the new belt on, I had to use the crank locking tool as I found the crank moved to easily when putting the belt on without.
and how to change the simmerings behind the "smart wheels"? If you change the timing belt and tensioners, it makes no sense to left the old simmerings undone.
Say if you're just doing the Drive Belt only can this be done from the top by removing the air box and working from the top instead of having to jack up the car and working from under?
Hi, nice video. A quick question where do you get the torque specs as a vauxhall online manual says to torque it in just one stage the same as the esitronic program on my laptop. I'm about to do the timing belt replacement and I'm confused with a torque settings now
Absolutely fantastic job, explanation and teaching legend. Not done timing belt for 10 years, eyesight bad, but, after this why not have another go. is the water pump on the timing belt drive?
Cool lots less worrys. I need to do this. Shop wont cause cant lock the fly wheel. Super clear video, clears up the degrees on the torque wrench. I have never heard of that till these last few videos. Dumb question, what are they degrees of temperature or angle?
There appears to be a surprising amount of space in that engine bay, which is a win! You always seem to use the Gates cam belt kits, you obviously rate them? Thanks for taking the time to put these videos together, they’re fascinating 🔧👍🏻
Yeah vauxhalls are normally quite good for space which helps a lot! also makes filming bit easier! 👌. I really rate the Gates kits kits, I prefer to fit gates or OE .. Ive never had an issue with one & they do offer good support / warranty of there is an issue 👍..
@@diydaly That's good to know. I used a Gates kit when I did the cambelt on my wife's KA. There were loads to choose from but I thought if you're using them them must be a good combination of cost vs quality. I've got the mobile tyre fitter coming over today as the TPMS light keeps popping on in the Kuga. I'm thinking the batteries are getting low as the car is 7 years old. I could do with a TopDon :-)

@@diydaly I feel like I need to update this thread on my TPMS adventure! My friendly tyre fitter came over this morning with his TPMS tool. The car has been in the family from new (2015) so if two have gone the other two won't be far behind.

@@diydaly I've got the Zafira B Z18XER and I need to replace next to the timing belt/v belt the camshaft adjuster. I've already bought the engine timing tool. There's a long to do list for my car. The cooling fluid has "orange" mud on the lid, which I assume comes because of the oil cooling gasket. I'm also going to change some other gasket's while doing that new installation.
