Thanks Doc! You're right. I used to be a drug addict and I still had 630ng/dl testosterone. I wasn't eating or sleeping. If Total testosterone meant something then I would have been healthy on paper but I wasn't. Now everything is fine and I started making tremendous gains and losing my hair since I got way healthier lifestyle
You can prevent hair loss, just check if your estradiol or prolactin is not high. Also decreasing inflammation can help stop hair loss
@@biohackingformen Seed oils and deep fried anything is a sneaky way you get inflammation without realizing it
Great video. I'm 48 and 4 years ago my total t was 530, 2 years ago 470 and last week 750! So my total t has actually gone up with aging. BUT my shbg has also gone up and is now officially high. My free t is only 10 so not awful but should be about 15 based on my total T. My sleep is awful because I'm a snorer. Hoping if I can fix my sleep shbg will come down
What is your diet? Carnivore and keto can increase SHBG significantly. Watch my other videos
@@biohackingformen pretty mixed to be honest. I do ear a lot of carbs and also a lot of meat. I think the biggest lifestyle issue is my sleep. Its terrible. 4 or 5 hours of broken skerp every night mainly due to snoring. I'm reasonably lean and estradiol levels normal. I'm taking boron to bring down shbg also and might try tongkat I have tried it in the past and I think it works but only fir a few weeks and then the body just adapts to it
@@johnmorgan7989 John I had severe sleep apnea and it brings lot of inflammation and it is not good for testosterone and also nitric oxide. What is your SHBG?
@@biohackingformen yeah I know that's bad. I don't think I have sleep apnea but my snoring does wake me up a few times a night. My shbg was 59nmol/l, total t 25.2 nmol/l and free t 0.364 nmol/l
Use things to help sinuses like the menthol nose inhaler sticks and use a cheap diffuser (hot water in a cup basically) with olbas oil or vix vapour rub. Also drink lemon water to help mucus/sinuses. This will help sleep - also melatonin supplement/magnesium before bed.
You are very wise.
I would think the amount of bioavailable / free testosterone would be more important than the total testosterone number
exactly
@@biohackingformen I am almost 60, taking 50mg TRT gel daily. Last week sitting at 820 ng/dl total, 458 ng/dl available, SHGB @ 36 nmol /L, and free T calculated at 154 pg/ml.
I take boron daily as a supplement, along with DHEA, Magnesium, Berberine, Vit D, Iodine, Zinc, Vit c and B complex, Tribulus, horny goat weed, L - Arginine, L-Citrulline and Creatine (3,000mg daily)
500ng is better as long as your shbg is not too high and you have primed androgen receptors? How do I do this? Thank you
And feminizing hormones like Estradiol and Prolactin are in certain levels :-)
what are all the lab tests needed for an accurate evaluation?
The list is huge if you want to find the root cause ….free T, DHT, esteadiol, prolactin, insúin, blood glucose ….also depends if you are on TRT or not ….when tests are made
I was on trt for awhile and my t level went to 1194 but I didn't feel any different so I quit injecting
Yes because t alone means nothing if prolactin, estradiol, 5ar and dht is not optimized
@@biohackingformen Thank you for your response. I will email you and hope you will accept me as a new patient
500 ng/dl or 1000ng/dl, what is better? Let me know
1000, if it is being correctly converted into DHT and stradiol in the correct amounts.
Doctor i have 7.06 mg|ml is that good ?
What does astaxanthin do to dht
Inhibits 5ar so it is blocking DHT
@@biohackingformen is it a potent inhibitor? was going to use only on days I plan on being in the sun for long periods of time. But I’m about to start tribulus so it might be counter productive
Boron lowers shbg , which increases free testosterone
I take boron daily as a supplement, along with DHEA, Magnesium, Berberine, Vit D, Iodine, Zinc, Vit c and B complex.
@@melkernerwhat does your blood tests look like?
@@feedofffear6077 My T levels came back at 820 / with 458 ng/dl (54%) bioavailable, and over 2% free.
500
When you have other hormones fixed yes 500 can be more
