My E2 error code was caused because the temp in the RV was 102F. I did a power cycle for 5min. put a fan on the thermostat to bring the temp down. The a/c kicked on. I also checked the control box connections. It seems the thermostat is calibrated to low for florida.

I changed the control box and the thermostat and still have a e1 code

I changed out my duo therm dometic thermostat 6 wire to a digital the original was 7.5 volts new one needed 12 volts all the wires were by the control box I disconnected the 7.5 and added to the 12 volt wire everything works great 👍

Modern digital circuitry often runs on 5V or even 3.3V. They typically have a voltage regulator on-board that reduces a higher DC voltage to the required lower voltage.
In other words, regardless of whether or not the input is 7.5V or 12V, the voltage to the circuit on the board will likely be 5V or 3.3V
I am not surprised that it works.

One thing I always keep in the back of my mind is the haphazard way that the wiring is done in a RV, loose wiring is always going to be a possibility.
I am a bit puzzled though that I did not think of this first. I must be slipping.
The classic troubleshooting comment is when someone makes mention; "it worked when we were camping, but when we got home, it did not work". I think "A-ha", a wire came loose as you bounced down the highway on the way home.
