When Morgan was talking about how awkward it would be to see an ex friend... It's anxiety! It doesn't mean you're not healed from it.
I have severe anxiety, so I know what you mean! Our brain tends to overthink the situation ❤

For the story about the guy friend who got a girlfriend - my ex blocked me and I am forever thankful that happened. Got me to stop looking. Never looked back. Out of sight out of mind and my life feels better. So do yourself a favor and just block them

@@jessa9872 for real!! It’s like a control thing in the back of everyone’s mind trying to keep tabs on people. Like what are you keeping tabs for? I don’t have my ex blocked bc as long as I’m blocked I’m good and dandy. And they can lurk all they want. But the second I’m reached out to/unblocked by them then I’ll block lol. It’s like I’m testing my own control and it’s going very well so far

Friendship submissions: some friends aren't meant to last a life time. Some are in our lives for a short period of time. If a friendship isn't caring, supportive, and they want the best for you, then it isn't a healthy and sustainable relationship.
It is hard when you think a friend is always going to be there. It will take time. Grieve the friendship lost. Keep yourself busy with your interests. Block them on social media. If someone isn't going to take the time to be a good friend, then don't waste your time or energy on them. It is a sad, but true part of life that many people don't talk about.
    Good luck.

Restraining order: bringing ample evidence is the key to getting one. Even if you’ve tried before, if you have more evidence than previously, then I would try again. This at least provides a court precedence even if you lose again. Eventually, something will happen and this past recorded behavior can help press charges.
Our court system fails victims at every turn. I’m so sorry this is happening to you.

I listen to your podcast when I work, clean, or just walk in the park.
You helped me gain emotional confidence to stand up for myself more, calm myself down and "keep it elegant" as you say, and you were keeping me company in my loneliest times.
I wish great health to you and your family, best regards from a 27-year-old from Serbia.

it makes me sad that it’s so common for friendships to suffer when people get in relationships. i understand that the writer messed up, but if there was forgiveness that was agreed upon, then that should’ve been put in the past. also, what is it with people sh!tting on things you enjoy? my ex did that and it got to the point where it made me uncomfortable to listen to some of my favorite artists! it’s so gross. i also lost a friend like this and it hurts so much, but you will find new friends and make so many new connections with people who will be better for you. 💕

First story: it’s hard to know someone isn’t right for you. Not every relationship needs a sit down talk to end it.
Fizzle this out, let her know that you want only family there for your graduation. And don’t follow up with her. Let your life unfold! It can get fast after graduation.

Jealousy is a normal human emotion. It happens even to the best of us. It's important to examine the feeling and determine why you are feeling that way. Only once you do that you can work to address the real issue. It's a common topic in non-monogamy circles.

The 4 th story about the narcissistic mom. I have a sister that is just like this and doing the whole inviting her and if she doesn't show up you can walk away? Narcs that use the word "Ostracize" will never take blame for anything. There is no telling them its their own fault cause nothing is their fault. I guarantee she will twist it into,She didn't show up because of how "uncomfortable" you girls made her feel or you ganged up on her or she has too many friends who love her to be around negative energy!!
It's heartbreaking cause it's family, i love my sister but she is so sick and even words she said 30sec ago she will twist into something completely different. The number 1 rule of a true narc is to never accept blame. I hope this friends out ok for you girl's but sometimes letting go is the best for you and your mental health. 🧡

4 years ago, I ditched my whole "friend group". Or more specifically 3 of my closest friends and the rest of the people I actually didn't know that well or do that much with. They were just there.
I ghosted them after I found out they wrote mean stuff about me in a group chat. Especially my closest friend. She initiated all of this conversation.
I blocked everyone, deleted most of them and went no contact. At some point, I felt like I healed enough, so I unblocked my former friends because I just didn't care about them anymore.
She started sending me a few Happy Birthday and 'I want you back' messages. I read them and just let them be. Never wrote back because she's not worth the effort for me. I sometimes thought about what I'd say to her if I'd meet her again.
Last year at school meeting our teachers from our highschool time planned for us to all come back together, she was there as well. I ignored her and did my thing most of the time.
At some point, she came over to me and started talking. And you know what? I talked to her, didn't really confront her, just told her that I didn't like what they did and then ghosted her and my other friends. We had an ok conversation.
For me it was neutral, not weird at all. She told me a couple of times that she would love to reestablish our friendship. I never said anything to that because I for sure won't do that.
When she was my friend, I liked her a lot and looked up to her because I always felt like she had everything I don't have. I don't understand how someone can suddenly turn into someone so different and hurt the ones closest to them.
I will never understand her motives and I don't want to because this time is over for me. I'm living a completely different life now. The years after I left this group were very good years for me. I thrived. I have a partner now. :)
    Just wanted to tell everyone:
real closure makes you completely unbothered by what happened. Of course you can miss the good times you had but it doesn't di anything negative with you. If a situation is awkward, there are still unsolved emotions within you. And that's also fine. We don't need to get a full closure of something. We just need to be happy! ❤

Just saying, ghosting can be the most harmful way to end a friendship. I get that the first story was for toxic reasons, but people are not experts on themselves. Sometimes, behavior continues because it is not addressed. And being ghosted by a friend impacts your trust in people forever.

I’m going to have to disagree with you guys on the first one. (edit to say I love Jerry and Morgan so no disrespect intended) If it was me, I would face it head on. I’m assuming you don’t want her there with him and his family for a reason, and I don’t blame you for that. You never know what she could say to them, especially if she’s trying to sabotage the relationship out of jealousy. I would not want a “friend” around my boyfriend and his family that has made it evident that she wishes she was in my spot in his life. A person like that is not a friend. My attraction for someone goes out the window as soon as my friend is in a relationship with that person. It makes it moot, as it should with any GOOD and loyal friend. It’s clear that her loyalty is not to you. You don’t owe her the kindness of letting her show up to YOUR graduation, because I PROMISE it’s not out of the kindness of her heart, but for your boyfriend. I would send her a message and let her know how you feel, and she’ll either come forward with the reason she’s been making you feel that way and you guys can salvage the relationship if she makes a change or she’ll deflect and act like a victim, and in that case there’s no reason to keep her around you. Either way, it’s addressed and you won’t feel uncomfortable and overthink about what she could be saying at your own graduation.

I think it can be fine as long as you don’t blame the other person for the jealousy you’re experiencing, and instead use it as a self reflection tool to see what kinds of things you’re feeling jealous of for self work etc

I can really relate to the Toxic mom story at the end, I’ve contemplated sending something in very similarly. I unfortunately did make the choice to distance myself from my mother and go no contact after she blew up again over something that’s been ongoing for years. I decided I just can’t deal with that chaos anymore. My sisters and I are trying our best to stick together, but my little sister who lives with her currently doesn’t speak to us bc she is still heavily influenced by her. It’s sad but we know we’ll be here for her when the moment is needed. There is a very clear pattern on toxicity.

My dads mom was completely unhinged when I was growing up. She’d call and leave threatening voicemails on our house phone, call with privacy block at all hours if the night, basically because my dad didn’t want to continue to a relationship with her anymore once her actions started to be directed towards me. We tried to get a restraining order and it was denied mostly because he just thought my dad was being too harsh. However we just completely would block her phone number if she called private we’d just hang out eventually she just kind of stopped and would do it less and less or when something “big in the family” was going on. I always just knew something was off with her and just disliked her for all the unhinged shit she put all of us through. However as an adult going into the nursing field and working in this healthcare field for so long once she died I found out a lot more about her mental health and she had been a diagnosed skitzophrenic for YEARS and no one actually got her the proper care she really needed which is so unfortunate and I give her more grace now as an adult but I feel like my dad protecting me from her saved me from even more trauma than she had already caused. So she definitely needs a lawyer because when we did it we didn’t have one because my dad figured all the evidence we had would just be enough but a lawyer helps make it become a little more “serious” in the eyes of the court

The one with the stalking grandma, get a lawyer and/or move as far away as possible. She does not love anyone involved. She is dangerous. If she said even half of one of the things claimed, that's disgusting. That is abnormal in the worst way, and that child is not safe. It is not strangers that are the biggest threat to our children. It's the people we know.

This is for the toxic mom submission- my mom died when I was 3 and when my step mom first came into my life she was wonderful until her and my dad's marriage fell apart and they separated before the divorce. She not only disappeared on me, but also on my 3 younger siblings that were hers biologically. Don't let her force herself into your life. If it is easier and less stress to only have contact with your sister then do that. No need to continue trying with your mom if she isn't putting in any real effort either. It'll be hard and weird at first but eventually it'll be good and normal like it's always been that way and the bliss from it will ring loud and shine bright in your life.
