Great cut off the bit when adding the harder 🤦🏼♂️
Yes kind of messed me up
The entire reason I’m
Watching the video aand they go and cut it out 😅
the best glaze I have ever used hands down.. great stuff
Glad to hear you love the product!
I started to use this on fiberglass fish repair and love it.
+Pierre Desmet Glad to hear you love the product on fiberglass!
What hardener are you using? I have the UPOL Dolphin Glaze but no hardener? Any or a specific one?
Sounds like what I need. I have an enduro bumper from a 76 Chevrolet Laguna with cracks and nicks. Do you carry a product that I could use?
Does this bond to bondo body filler? I think that is an important issue. I heard you rattle off a bunch of chemicals but does this bond to all major filler brands?
Brilliant best stuff ever much better than that cellulose putty take for ever to set rubbish 😃
Hey Mark... I have a 69 Camaro with a couple of small gouges in the plastic grill shell. Its not painted yet, and I'm wondering if this is the product to be using? Grill is off the car, so I can angle it pretty much any way I want. I think around a tablespoon or less LOL would allow me to sand it back to the correct profile as its a curved section. Don't think any section would be thicker than 3/32". What should I use?
Hi Mike, I'm not sure what the grill will be made of so will give two options
:
1. If the grill is plastic - then we advise using the Isopon Plastic Bumper filler / SH706 for this type of repair
2. If metal, then Dolphin will be fine for the repair
Hope it helps
What hardener are you using for this? And is there a slow hardener option..to make it workable for a little longer?
This stuff hardens in seconds. Theres virtually no working time. By the time you're done mixing its already stiffening up.
@@mml3140 thanks for your reply. Right ok..I'm wondering if I need to add the hardener to the product I bought. I got the one here; www.halfords.com/motoring/paints-and-body-repair/fillers-and-preparation/dolphin-glaze-354381.html
Which says on the front "440ml including hardener" as well as "2% hardener", but didn't come with a separate sachet. Don't understand why Halfords would sell the product without hardener if you need it to actually use the glaze correctly. Seems stupid. 🤷🏻♂️
Perhaps you could shed a little light? Thanks
@@andyadams2565 Unless I'm misunderstanding it clearly should be coming with a hardener. Otherwise itll just stay goopy. They're tiny tiny pouches that usually come stuck to the main container.
@@mml3140 yeah that's what I thought. Went back to Halfords and they said none of their other pouches had hardener attached..but they did sell the sachets separately..so I had to purchase one. This doesn't sound right tbh, so I've messaged U-Pol to see what they make of it. 👍
Can i mix the dolphin glaze with my flyweight gold?
Hi Greg,
The Dolphin Filler line (which includes Dolphin Glaze) and Gold Filler line (which includes Flyweight Gold) use different resin systems. You can combine Flyweight Gold and Dolphin Glaze, however, for maximum performance U-POL recommends combining Dolphin Glaze with another Dolphin product and Flyweight Gold with another Gold line product.
Can this be used directly over sanded paint
This good for 3D printing layer lines?
Hi Alex, I assume by this you have visible layer lines on the 3D printed object and you want to fill them in using a filler ?
nWe would need to know what material the 3D object is made of - they are lots of different materials used and some would be suitable for fillers others not. Let me know and we will advise accordingly. Thank you
@@UPOLRaptor It's PLA that's been lightly sanded.
what the difference between gold putty and dolphin glaze ? I need something for small dents.
+TIMUR KIRILENKO, LIQUID GOLD is a thicker putty and will have the viscosity to fill minor dents and imperfections like rock chips or door dings on most substrates. DOLPHIN GLAZE being a self-leveling glaze has a thinner viscosity, and by nature is better for repairing scratches, small surface imperfections, and pin holes. Additionally, LIQUID GOLD has plasticizing agents that allow it to be more flexible when using as a skimming putty of plastic components.
what kind of spreaders
Hi Jason, any kind of plastic spreader will work. The spreader used in the video is a U-POL spreader, it's part number UP0738.
yea but can you wet sand it? Thanks anyone
Can this applied over epoxy primer to cover fine scratches
Hi David, U-POL doesn't recommend applying any filler over primers, fillers ideally are applied directly to the substrate or on top of other filler applications.
Primers are designed to seal / protect the filler before being painted with basecoats / clearcoats etc. Hope it helps
Ok, I'm studying linguistics at NYU. this guy sounds Canadian. Sounds like Tom Green Ontario. Am I close? or far off?
I found this inside my car, and I don't know what it is?
Did you find a package/bottle/bag of this product in your car or did you find there was a repair done using this product? DOLPHIN GLAZE is chemical filler used to fill minor dents and scratches on the body of a car before it is repainted.
2% of the hardener supplied will not do .440ml of product by weight, can they do math, it was only about 20 gram supplied !!! Soooo you have to buy more......silly in my book !!!!
