  • The Seeker platform from Cruzr offers up the idea that maybe you just CAN have it all in one single platform! #saddlehunter #saddlehunting #cruzr

    I wish they would marry the EDP and the Seeker. I like the angled down front of the Seeker and the angled out "wings" up next to the tree on the EDP. I would like to try both in person before I commit to one or the other. Until I decide I stick with my Mission.

    Awesome review as always Gregg!!
    I have the original predator and love it for what it is, but have been wanting something a little bigger. The Predator XL is probably the closest size to what i'm looking for. I loved the trophy line mission "treestand" design, but didn't need it that wide and actually want a little more length. Being able to comfortably and quietly stand and rotate to shoot my weak side is very high on my priority list for my next platform. So many of these are so short that with bulky clothes it's tight to turn around against the tree quietly. Plus your feet hit off each other and the post during rotation because of that lack of length. It wouldn't take much to make a big difference.
    I know they can't please everyone, but If the Cruzr would have used that angled realestate for a longer flat platform, i'd be ordering one. I do love everything else about it and think they've done an excellent job. Maybe i'll get lucky and have a buddy buy one that I can try.

      I’m with you. I love the angle on the cruzr because I loved the angle on the scout. And I now have a monarch that I haven’t gotten to play with much yet. But I feel if any of those mentioned in the video even had a standoff that pushed the platform further out from the tree then the longer platform wouldn’t be needed. That would sort of make up for that wanted extra length on the platform and that tight turn around maneuver for the weak side shot.
      I’m really torn between the predator xl, EDP, and cruzr. And I have met the crizr guys but the tethrd guys seem super cool and I’ve met the trophyline guys and they are great guys.

      I've got the gen1 predator also and really haven't wanted more other than the heavier built gen2. One thing I go to everytime on these other platforms is I would probably grind the surface smooth so I can rotate without popping the lugs on my boots. I do like the angled front on the seeker for I lean most of the time.

    I do like the looks of this one a lot. I have only started saddle hunting this year and one sticked with a monarch for the season. I definitely found myself wanting to be able to stand up and just ordered the trophy line EDP the other day. Do you still prefer your trophy line over this? Besides not being available, I thought the grip knobs on this one might cost too much noise if you don’t lift your feet when moving

    • @StaggsintheWild
      @StaggsintheWild  2 роки тому +1

      All things being equal, I still love the footroom the Mission provides. But … I tell people that if you can ONLY have one platform then the Seeker is well worth talking a hard look at due to its better packability and the fact it can fit on a wider variety of trees due to its much broader adjustment range.

    Does it have adjustable screw for slanted trees like the predator and the Ridge runner does. Can you angle it up for slanted trees. How big of a difference does 30 degree angle make for leaning for comfortable factor. I own a ridge runner I sit 50% and lean 50% .

    • @StaggsintheWild
      @StaggsintheWild  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, I show how much adjustability it has in the video ... WAY more than the Ridge Runner. And that angled front is super comfy for leaners. This would be a great platform for you.

    Was it ever determined the purpose of the EDP handle? Just a handle?

    • @StaggsintheWild
      @StaggsintheWild  3 роки тому

      It’s actually not really meant to be a handle ... just a cutout so the top of the post can fit inside it. I think Trophyline was merely trying to create a couple places to push off from and it ended up sorta looking like a handle. 😊

    Can you do a video on how you put it on the tree I have the seeker and every time I put it on the tree it does good just standing but it likes to shift if I lean to either side and feels unsafe not sure if it’s just me putting it on wrong or what?

    • @StaggsintheWild
      @StaggsintheWild  Рік тому

      What I do is fold UP the platform and cinch the strap as tightly as I can get it - THEN I cam the platform down and into place. That camming action should really lock it in and take up any additional slack you were unable to get out yourself.
      If you have to, you can do almost the same thing but as an additional step, use your foot to push DOWN on the platform post before camming the platform back over.

    • @StaggsintheWild
      @StaggsintheWild  Рік тому

      If I could only have one I’d pick the Cruzr due to it having far more adjustment range for leaning trees.

  • @performanceglasstinting3792
    @performanceglasstinting3792 2 роки тому

    My seeker sucks at side pressure. It’s not biting into the tree no matter what I do. Already tried another strap, top bracket pulls away from the tree when I put weight on the slanted part. Did you not have any problems? Been on 15 different trees at least with it. Wondering if I got a defective one?! Bolt on top bracket is flipped around also. Idk it’s strange, can’t figure out why it doesn’t bite like my predator did, not even close honestly. Love the platform if only it would bite correctly 😤

    • @StaggsintheWild
      @StaggsintheWild  2 роки тому +1

      I honestly have had no problems at all; if I did I wouldn’t have hesitated to say so. People will vouch I pretty much speak my mind on these videos and tell it like it is, as I have zero affiliations with any of these companies.
      I will say I think Cruzr had a bad batch of straps lately … I wondering if you got a couple bad ones? That would be the only thing possible if it’s still pulling away from the tree. Mine bites SUPER hard.

    I can't get the thing solid on the tree. I tighten it as much as I can and even push it down before i cam it down and still the top teeth come away from the tree. It then does not hold side pressure at all as the bottom kicks down and out. What am I doing wrong?

    • @StaggsintheWild
      @StaggsintheWild  2 роки тому

      Several people have reported similar findings recently and it appears to be an issue with some of the straps … apparently Chad got a bad batch sent to him. Reach out to Cruzr and he should get you squared away.

    I notice that the attachment strap is not the one that came with the stand. I just got my platform and the strap is complete junk. It stretches so much you can not get it tightened on a tree no matter what size tree it is. I have contacted Cruzr and no reply yet. Going to try one of my XOP straps to see if it fixes the issue. I am only at 200lbs so not a heavyweight by any means. I see no one mention this on any reviews but as I watch the reviews I see none that have a factory strap on this platform. It is worth putting out there could be a deal breaker for some.
