I love my Road King. I've owned several Harleys over the past - going on 30 - years. The RK is still my favorite. Like floating on a cloud with a face full of wind. Best zen a man can find. Sometimes I get so relaxed and zoned from a long ride, I feel like I smoked a joint. Damn, I love this lifestyle!
Well todays the day im finally getin some therapy goin for s ride on my road king after 10 long months checked my fluids and tires yesterday had a stroke back in jan so im due dont know why my nerves are up just gonna take my time and go find a nice big parking lot for a while first everybody ride safe
I reluctantly sold my 08 Raod King because of knee suergery 5 years ago. I recovered quickly and regretted letting it go. Couldn't afford another HD, but ultimatley dabbled with a 20 year old Goldwing. Incredible motorcycle and after 18K miles and 4 years later, I found myself watching your videos & realized how much I missed the look, the sound and the feel. Wing found a nice home and I am back on a 2012 RK almost identical in color to my 08. Even on these days of extensive heat in Virginia I peek in the garage and just get a big grin. Welcome home!!
I have an '18 Triumph Street Triple 765R which is my dream bike. I also have a '21 Sport Glide. I commute on the bikes and M-Th its the Harley. Friday is the Triumph for the inspired ride (have to hit 100+ at least once). But for a weekend ride, I have come to prefer the Harley. I'm 58 now and like the comfort.
I'm 70, live in Scotland, a Harley nut and a massive fan of the USA having lived and travelled there over the years. I ride my 2008 Softail Custom as often as I can, and being retired that's most days, it keeps me young. I rented a Road King to ride Route 66 and a Night Train to ride the PCH, great bikes on awesome roads and memories to last a lifetime! 🏴
I have a 46 U model chopper, a 94 Electra-Glide Classic (stripped down with no fairing or tour pack, & rusty & dented, bought as a spare bike), & a 98 95th Anniversary Electra-Glide Ultra Classic, & a 08 Honda CRF250R Limited Edition. Funnily enough, my go to is that rusty, dented, naked Electra-Glide, that for all intents & purposes, is basically a Road King in everything but the name. Happy trails Bob
Hey BoDean, I grew up north of you in Midland. For over 20 years now, I have lived in ridden in New England, which makes every ride amazing. I know what you mean about the stress relief of a ride, I call my bike my emotional support motorcycle.😅
I’m trying to comment on a vid you put up 3yrs ago about naming your road king I can’t believe it , I said duke only to find out in follow up vid that’s the name you chose , I chose that name after a wonderful, beautiful Alaskan malmute my father owned and loved!
@@BoDean52 Yes you are! Soon the beautiful autumn colors will provide great views, so I suggest taking the Mrs for a ride on the RG and crank the country music!!
I hear you. I had a 2011 RK standard that was great for cruising the back roads. I love the Road King but I now have a 2012 Honda Goldwing which is hard to beat for serious cross country touring two up; but I sure wouldn't mind another RK !
I'm lucky to own a 2004 Road King and a "98 Honda VFR800. I usually ride the Road King when my wife wants to go on a ride on her '14 Heritage Softail. My two bikes are so different in the "feeling" I get from riding each of them. The VFR is one of the best sport tourers ever made and the engine is incredible. The V4's exhaust note rivals the sound of a V-Twin or a V-Eight. The Honda is exciting to ride and a totally engrossing experience for me. My Road King, on the other hand, is very comfortable, easy to ride, Zenful (I think I made up a word). I find myself enjoying the scenery and "vibin' on the chug". I can't name a favorite, but I think the VFR is about the "riding" and the Road King is about "the ride". As an aside: Rode yesterday on the Road King with my wife on her Heritage for a little trip over the Grand Mesa here in Colorado, probably a 75 mile round trip. We recently installed coms on our helmets. We were riding through some switchbacks and she yelled in the intercom, "I scraped my floorboards!" She was so stoked that she had laid it over enough to hear the floorboards scream., "That's fast enough!" To hear her joy through the intercom made my day.
Floor board scrape - that's great and had to be awesome to hear. I believe coms for both of us has made the enjoyment of riding and our relationship better. Hope you both get many more years of riding!
I actually only own one bike, the HD Ultra Limited, but my son garage's his bike, a 2016 Triumph Rocket 3 Roadster, in my garage, so technically I could always climb on it and go for a spin. Getting a ride in will definitely make the day better. Amen in regard to checking on a friend.
Nothing Wrong With Country🎶. "I Was Country When Country wasn't Cool" 😎, Waylon Jennings, Loretta Lynn, you should listen to Alan Jackson👍, and Hank Williams Jr. . (Sorry it seam I read on some false info of the demise of hank Williams, guess one can't believe "chit" these days .) The King just like yours, no fancy chit. Just you and the mechanical machine to enjoy Life and the ride taking time to enjoy this life 💚‼️ Take care and blessings to you both & family 🙏. Be careful out there 😎🤙‼️
I sold my 2019 FLHR to partially fund a 2023 FLTRX. Yea I miss the Road King even tho the Road Glide is the better bike in most ways. One day I want a twin cam Road King for a 2nd bike

the STR, but why not have 2 right?
48 years riding all types of bikes I still have 3 and my go to is my 2007 RK custom. Even on our rough UK roads. Ride safe.
Roads stink here too and long live the KINGS

Route 66 is a ride I need to make and Scotland a place I need to visit! Appreciate your comment.

Great stress reliever for sure! Riding my 2016 Road Glide Ultra on some country backroads, cranking the tunes, works every time.
Doesn’t get any better does it!
Had a great solo ride today on some new backcountry roads. Great day.
Good stuff!

Living in the country gives me some great routes to ride, and I do have a few I love to do and they just never get old!!!

Love my street glide, if only I could keep my saddlebags closed. LOL, cheers
Well it helps with names 🙂

get doing that for sure and a used second King is awesome
It’s good to know that there are things you can count on like BoDean not stopping to get a picture of the King in front of that American flag.😆
