  • This is a video essay depicting a famous passage from Carl Jung's Red Book (Liber Primus, Chapter 1: Refinding the Soul).
Jung here attempts to paint a picture of our precarious co-existence with the soul.
Throughout my spiritual journeys, I have faced the abyss of my inner world countless times.
As Jung emphasizes, the constant re-engagement with the soul is the only way to find strength whenever the abyss stares back at you.

My friends, it is wise to nourish the soul, otherwise you will breed dragons and devils in your heart.

@A D Any spiritual practice along with developing self-awareness that can help you to consciously disengage yourself from earthly issues whenever they damage your spiritual world.

Thank you for this. I’ve been allowing myself to become undisciplined recently and distracted by earthly pleasures to see the depths of how far below I can go. And it’s ugly at this point. It’s harder to want to nourish our souls with so many distractions around that require less effort, but nourishing ourselves is far more important than being blissfully ignorant. Because that bliss only ever lasts for so long

This has quickly become my favorite channel. My singular complaint is that there are not enough videos to satisfy my hunger!. Thankfully, I have learned that repetition is the key to mastery and so I keep listening to each one again and again! I hope you never stop producing, informing and inspiring. A beautiful mind is even more so when expressed with such eloquence. Much love, much gratitude.🙏🏾.

How will I know when I have found my soul? The silence is endless, the emptiness vast.

@@metamorphosis_77 I think I found my soul when - after twenty years of Jungian analysis - I experienced and realized I couldn't lose myself anymore. It struck me when I took a 24/7 job overseas for three months, and was amazed that I could give myself completely to the tasks of the job without feeling lonely, alone, overwhelmed, or that I had no time for myself I suddenly felt secure and at ease and had inner stability.

Woow this has resonated with intuition. Something deep down was invoked to come forth. The orthodox of what reality is just became an illusion.i started paying attention to my resentments and realized that the soul has been summoning my attention. Thank you so much for such an awakening.

Finding the soul is very difficult as going inside past all the noise of the world and our ego driven minds is so painful. When we finally reach the soul there is for a time a beautiful peace. But to truly love our souls and be with them we must be willing to examine and love our shadow self so that true integration is possible. For me this has been the most difficult part. When I do spend time with the soul I know I am a spiritual being in a physical body. The more I realize that the more compassion and empathy I feel more my shadow self. The truth is my shadow self is the hurt and pain from years of living. I can only love myself by accepting that hurt scared little girl and telling her from my soul, Hush, little one I have you. Hold on and I will protect you. She will be okay as long as I continue to love and protect her. When I can do that I can truly integrate this precious hurting shadow self into my spirit soul. We all have damaged shadow selves, just some more than others. Our ego wants so much to lash out and prove we are tough, but being loving in the face of ridicule is the biggest challenge of all.

Also in Hindu Upanishads it is said the same
Running behind fulfilling desires points to a very common specific idea
That you want ultimate pleasure but you can not get that in any object or material or wealth, etc
And the day you wake up and said I'm in joy for no reason is the day when u get enlightened
Hence joy is the answer nachiketa joy is the answer my student

My soul shall not eat just of flesh
But must by Spirit, self refresh
No sortie flight by night enmesh
Lest into depthless spite I crash
Let Upturned eyes that seek their Dawn
Before me open as I yawn
My Joy enthroned be Strengthened Song
To guide me Home where I belong.
So Spirit soul embrace my hand
Let sorrow to the Deep remand
    Embolden Love as Firebrand
    For strength to walk and
    Grace to
    Stand

How do any of you even accept to read a book which he was explicitly against publishing?! CG gives you infinite tomes of knowledge and countless paradigm shifts for 50 years and then you go ahead and go against his wishes after all he's given you? How is everyone so chill about this is beyond me. It's literally cracking open his most personal diary after he dies. how is that ok?!

What's so good about Jung? My impression is that it's pseudoscientific quakery dressed up in nice words. I'm not trying to be offensive or anything, I'd just like to know what the appeal of Jung is.

    • @Knightgil
      @Knightgil 4 роки тому +4

Carl Jung makes sense once you have lived through certain things, reflected on certain things, and come to certain conclusions. Until then, it might be impossible to understand Jung. After that, it makes sense. Sometimes, it makes way too much sense, and then it becomes unconfortable.

The term pseudo-scientific is wrong and generic. You call something pseudo-science when it is posing like science. Jung was not a scientist. Jung was a psychologist and a philosopher. Through personal experience and psychoanalysis he understood the human psyche deeply. In the undiscovered self he explains how the fusion of self-awareness and spirituality (he calls it religion in the book) is the antidote to most of our social and personal issues and this is a huge thing to understand and internalize. Read the undiscovered self please and re-evaluate.
