  • Carl Jung, in full Carl Gustav Jung, (born July 26, 1875, Kesswil, Switzerland-died June 6, 1961, Küsnacht), Swiss psychologist and psychiatrist who founded analytic psychology, in some aspects a response to Sigmund Freud’s psychoanalysis. Jung proposed and developed the concepts of the extraverted and the introverted personality, archetypes, and the collective unconscious. His work has been influential in psychiatry and in the study of religion, literature, and related fields.
In this video, we explore Carl Jung's search for the soul - which entails making the unconscious conscious, confronting the dark night of the soul, shadow work, integrating the anima and animus, and achieving wholeness.

Thank you for this brilliant video. Much appreciated. I am very much into IFS (Internal Family Systems), worked through 10 books and also did 1 year of IFS therapy with a Certified therapist.
What can I say ? Jungian psychology is similar to IFS, we indeed have parts and once we start working with them, everything changes. We find our true source of love, our true self ❤️
I also did psychedelics prior to starting therapy. They very clearly did show me how real the subconscious world is. I had no idea before. They didn't heal me, they showed me what I had to work on. Mainly inner child, trauma.
So yeah, this integration between the conscious and unconscious is essential. This changes everything, this brings peace, love and harmony not only to our own lives but also to the lives of others.

I've researched so much in recent years on philosophies. Especially the work of Jung. What is said here about being an ally or a guide is correct. Shepherd would be a fair term as well. For I've found that you cannot shortcut understanding nor save yourself from any necessary experience. The path is set before you and there is no way around it. If there were then you wouldn't reach the understanding you seek.
I had hoped to avoid some painful experiences before realizing that the pain was entirely necessary for the growth. That if I didn't let myself experience it, I would find myself confronted with it again and again. This is why we often find ourselves stuck in a cycle. Avoidance instead of acceptance.
So wonder on these teachings and allow them to guide you but also know that you can't rush or avoid what is necessary for you to grow. Instead take comfort in the fact that it is all on your path already. Just experience the journey.

Another way of understanding what individuation is is to see personality as the opposite of conformity.
The collective conscience, or the superego, has a set of needs and powerful systems to put it into effect, but to the extent that we are individual we resist this. So what Jung observed is that, particularly in the second half of life, any individuality that is successfully repressed leads to neurosis and is just as existentially hazardous as failing to adapt to social constraints in the first place.
You do not need to see the soul in an esoteric way if that doesn't suit you. The soul is like the part of you that has to die in order to enter social life. And so it is necessary to get it back on your way out. Otherwise you don't have a way out and are stuck in the wrong stage of psychological development for where you are in life.
This was a theory that Freud had; that people were supposed to hit certain milestones of development by certain ages and if they didn't there would be a cramp of recursive behavior until the appropriate adaptation was learned. I don't know if I agree with that, but if there is some truth to it then it is equally true that you can outgrow the mode of life many of us regard as being a mature citizen and that's basically what individuation is when it manifest in a pathological way; when it is frustrated by efforts to maintain the same patterns imposed by social life. And it can descend upon a person with such force that they beileve they are going insane.
This is perhaps the source of the well-known phenomenon of a mid-life crisis. When a person looks back and sees that they've been on a conveyor belt constantly preparing them for the next stage and that only now when they are forty years of age or more does it hit them that there isn't a goal after where they are. They've actually gotten to the carrot on the end of the stick that they've been strung along with their entire lives. And they don't feel especially different from how they have always felt.
There may be some material comforts and a family, but on the whole the grand sense of fulfillment that was always hinted at is conspicuously absent. So could it be that something is wrong?
The reality is that the people around them simple wanted this person to behave and weren't particularly concerned with their individual fulfillment at all. But it isn't necessarily to think of society as cynical on this account because it couldn't provide people with fulfillment if it wanted to. This can only be done for oneself.
One of the major things that troubles people about individuation is their sense of responsibility to others. "I can't see to my own psychological needs -- that would be _selfish."_ And so common response to such a crisis is to try and suffocate the existential longing with hedonistic pursuits. Because at least an expensive car is a form of self gratification that the social word can understand and encourage.
This is why when people go on at me for concerning myself with particular details in how characters I care about in my stories are drawn seem to think I'm being pedantic and don't understand why I'm upset when they are mistreated. They're going by external standards and don't realize that there are internal ones as well.
The Japanese place great importance upon the Japanese language. Nothing else is felt to define them as a people more than that. So it offends them when it is not seen to have been afforded proper respect. This causes intense confusion for other nations that do not see their language as part of their being but rather a practical tool: if a westerner is seen to be proficient in Japanese, the Japanese will often respond very negatively because it is felt that only Japanese people should speak it.
It's not that most other countries attach no significance to their language they just don't get nearly as defensive about it as the Japanese do. Thus if it was understood what was going by the international community, they would regard Japan's believes as similarly pedantic because they just don't feel the same way.
But I always get insult for caring about things that are "not a priority." So I will venture to see how other people feel when thing they care about are treated as "not a priority" if that's the way they want it.

Jung, in my opinion and from personal experience, has shared with the world some of the most important esoteric/phylosophical/psychological information to be found anywhere. I fully subscribe to his phylosophy and although I'm certainly not perfect, I can say I managed to put in practice his most important teachings, such as those mentioned in this short presentation. It actually makes me very proud, as my life being a complete mess right now, I can still say I've either understood or directly experienced every thing here mentioned, and it's this very understanding that keeps me afloat, as it continues to remind me that all I need to "cure" myself is surrendering to the universe, and while I wait make treasure of this struggle. One of the most amazing experiences one can have is the synchronization of the inner self with the world, creating a path of synchronicities that never fail to amaze you. In a particularly good moment of my life this synchronization lasted for months, where everything kept perfectly falling into place. I can tell it without the risk of sounding arrogant because right now I'm experiencing the opposite, and one thing hardships do, and do well, is humbling you, it's Nature's way of reminding you that it can all go away in a blink, to be ready, to respect and trust Her. Remember, after all the old addage "hard times make strong men" is absolutely true.

@@CiaofCleburne Thank you for the kind lines, to whom I actually fully agree. Our lives can in a way be compared to the big cycle of the ages, I mean the Yugas, as the way our life begins has all to do with our karma, if prior to this incarnation, regardless if in material or spiritual form, we accumulated good karma, our life will obviously start on a good path, but this is not really the blessing many people tend to believe, although still an advantage, as like everyone else ( or at least that's what we are led to believe) we are born without any memory, which will inevitably cause us to make mistakes, shifting from Satya to a less positive phase, and it's here that our learning process becomes the most important thing, as the sooner we learn the laws of karma back, or natural law, the sooner we can start climbing back towards the "Golden age". Many variables influence this phase, such as your parents, where if you're very lucky will explain to you everything you need to know, or if you aren't, will send you to catholic school where nuns beat the fk outta you and teach you absolutely nothing of value, forging inside you a rebellious spirit that will accompany you the rest of your life, which in a way is great but from a different perspective it totally fkd up my teens (yeah it's exactly my story 😅), ranking enough horrible karma for, let's be creative, a couple B movies, Anime or something, which took me around ten years to unravel and brought me back to Treta. But! 😅 And you wanna take this with a pinch of hu0mor, the universe, or more precisely, Saturn, has different plans for you, He wants you to learn the final leg of your journey through struggle, so maximizes your karma debt giving you the worse possible hand, which explains my original comment and leads us to today, where I'm not gonna reveal my plans to avoid jinxing myself, but I can confidently say I'm working towards the elusive Golden Age from where I started, possibly finally closing the circle both of this life time and of my Samsara cycle. Best of the best wishes to anyone walking the path alone, as one should, cause it certainly ain't easy and need all the encouragement one can get 👌🏻🖤

    I desperately want to die.
I can no longer bear the pain and the darkness.
Every cell of my being is saturated and submerged
in sheer terror and utter panic.
    I want to die.
    I pray to die.
    Desperately.
May they suffer eternally for what they've done to me.
    MY SOUL IS RAPED.
He brutally maliciously viciously violently raped my soul.
    He destroyed me.
He definitely is not a narcissist, but...
    There were signs, such as:
    - Talked negatively about all his exes
    - My instinct (gut feeling). Something was off.
    - Played victim (ALL! THE! TIME!)
    - Moved fairly/relatively fast in our friendship, and we put each other on pedestals
    - Could/would never take responsibility for his wrongs
    - Silent treatment and gaslighting
    I weep.
    I die.
    I die inside.
    I'm desperate to die.
    The pain is unbearable.
    44 years of suffering
with intermittent fleeting windows of relief.
    I'm in hell.
    Hell with no escape.
    Desperate to die.
    Desperate to escape.
I am debilitated from the trauma.
Paralyzed frozen. Living in constant terror and panic.

THE PAIN IS UNCEASING AND UNBEARABLE.
I LIVE IN A STATE OF PERPETUAL TRAUMA AND PANIC.
    He betrayed and abandoned me,
    discarded me like garbage!!!

How could he do this to me?
    REMINDER TO SELF, SWEET SOUL:
    This was a karmic friendship,
meant to be there for a limited time (17-months-ish)
    to teach you, about yourself!
    About boundaries, about self-love,
    about self-respect, about self-worth, etc...
About a whole plethora of magical, juicy, alchemical things!
The universe, God, your guides, your ancestors, are pushing you, lovingly,
in the right direction: into your own magnificent powerful magical freedom!
When you let go. The universe will catch you. It’s talking to you.
Let go of everything and trust the universe. It’s within you. ✨💫

This is my purification process. I am doing this for me, for you, for us.
I’m proud of myself, and I’m getting ready for you.
    I love you.
REMINDER TO SELF, HEALTHY TRUE LOVE
FROM A MAN THAT REALLY LOVES A WOMAN LOOKS LIKE THIS:
    1. He is quick to eliminate danger and fight any threat when it comes to her.
She is everything to him, they are one. He’ll sacrifice himself for her.
    2. Sets up a meeting for her to meet his mom or grandma or guardian.
A serious man won’t keep bringing different women to meet his guardian,
it’s serious if he brings her to his guardian.
    3. He’s going to talk about her with his closest, most respected group of friends, repeatedly. He wants them to know all about her, who she is, her soul and her personality.
    4. He will start to make her a priority in his life, hang out during his busiest times,
buying you things, making plans. More investment.
    5. He begins to be more involved with her family even without her necessarily knowing.
Gets something for her mom or helps her dad cut the grass, etc.
Investing in people who are important to her.
It’s not forced, she doesn’t ask, he just does it.
    6. What he does for her. If she has dreams or goals, he’s going to help her acquire it.
No jealousy or ill feelings. He wants to help and be a part of what she’s a part of.
Putting total effort in showing her she’s not alone.
    7. Being more free in sharing his struggles, inner demons, he’s trusting her,
doesn’t want to hold back. Will share what he’s working on, the dark,
the not good looking things, so she can see him wholly. He trusts her and her feedback.
    8. He stops using I and me, and starts saying us and we.
“You know what we should do” “I think we would like this,”
include her in his thinking, sees her in the long haul...

Yes, I’m beginning to believe that ‘adult’ is merely a concept based on our physical change in height and years that amount to a certain age that is designated…I believe we should keep the childlike wonder that leads us to a life of learning each day and finding ‘play’ and joy in every opportunity…like how children can make a day of fun with a big box lol I believe that you haven’t allowed the world to conform you and you have allowed yourself to move through the world responsible but seeing the adventure in it. The art of creating the world you want to live in..Even God says we must be like children to enter the kingdom of even- a high vibration and energy that allows the mind to quickly forgive and heal and grow..finding the good in the world with a little gardening rather than only seeing the rocks and thorns on the surface…

Discovered Jung through his "Memories Dreams Reflections" when I was 17.
The healthiest perspective I have ever encountered among "western" people.
One day perhaps I will read his "Red book"?
I found my own way long ago by developing an ability to watch, as though in a physical mirror what was occurring within myself. I also made a practice of checking myself, impressions, thoughts, impulses against the tangible evidence of reality in order to locate evidence of error in my inner processes that I might otherwise overlook.

I have heard that "The Stranger" which Billy Joel sang about, is like Jung's "Shadow Self"

    “One does not become enlightened
by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness: conscious.
Until you make the unconscious: conscious, it will direct your life
and you will call it fate.” ~ Carl Jung
You’re more than a Queen. Not that a Queen is limiting
    because that’s the highest highness
of a most intelligent courageous beauty
    amongst women.
You do embody a perfect emanating expression of a Queen.
The icing on the cake is your Divine limitlessness
that is in tune with her being. You’re evolution.
Thank you for sharing and expressing.
I sense your passion for yourself
and your passion for standing for justice
    of your worth.
I’m grateful for the love you have for yourself.
    You’re badass.

" After Skool" this is so true
and precious. Words similar to one's I would have used to guide and inspire friends , family , neighbors etc. Even strangers passing by when
    opportunity PERMITS...NAMASTE
