I’m so glad there are preachers that stand up for the Word of God. The Bible means what it says, and says what it means. Literal interpretation is the best way to read the Bible. Thank you Brother David.
Junk science or biblically so called science. Father was overall good, but did not point out his son was a false teacher , and endorsed him as a preacher.
I've seen this happen before and have read about leaders of the Christian faith straying from the Gospel as presented in the Word; primarily they all have at least one thing in common, that being they believe THEY have some esoteric knowledge others don't.
Andy Stanley said to his dad that he did not feel that God called him to preach. But Andy ask his dad if he could preach at his dad’s church. So Andy did not feel called to preach but he felt it was something he wanted to try. And Andy was very good at it in the beginning. He seemed like he was conservative. But once he got out of his dad’s church building but they started another church under Charles Stanley but in a different part of town. And then Andy preached when Gracey meet truthy. It was down hill from there. Of course Andy’s church grew by leaps and bounds. Because he was tickling ears.
I remember how good he was back in the early 90s preaching at the old church building in Atlanta at his father’s church. I doubt Charles Stanley did anything to straighten out his theology letting him continue his apostasy!
Correct! John 5:46-47, Jesus speaking to the Religious Jews "For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me, But since you do not believe what he wrote, how will you believe what I say?” Andy has many things backward. I'm betting one day, Andy will say he is some special prophet and tell his followers to not read the Bible, but instead, get their understanding from him.
Stanley says he wont say the Bible says, so its more convenient for him to ignore those parts of the scripture he finds inconvenient and with which he wont abide.
Stanley’s playing games with words and that’s exactly what Satan wants. It’s comparable to Catholics claiming they don’t pray to Mary they’re simply showing her respect. To God it’s prayer ie idolatry. A grevious sin and we’re commanded that in order to be saved we must BELIEVE IN JESUS AND WHAT HE SAID ALONE, not what man teaches. The word of God is exactly that. We can’t pick and choose which parts we’re going to believe and which parts we can throw away or alter. Revelation 22 has a serious warning for those who do that. Gods word alone is truth and it alone has the words of life.
Howdy friend! I’m confused about the video actually. On the one hand you honored Charles Stanley as a good, conservative Baptist while saying Andy Stanley had become apostate. My confusion is this- according to Charles Stanley, apostasy isn’t possible for Christians. Here’s an example of his position on eternal security: “The unfaithful believer will not lose his salvation … Even if a believer for all practical purposes becomes an unbeliever, his salvation is not in jeopardy. Christ will remain faithful … Christ will not deny an unbelieving Christian his or her salvation … believers who lose or abandon their faith will retain their salvation, for God remains faithful.” - Charles Stanley (1990: Thomas Nelson), Eternal Security: Can You Be Sure?, pp. 92-4 So I guess my question would be, if Charles is right, aren’t you wrong about Andy and apostasy in general? Alternatively, if Charles is wrong, why praise him as a good Baptist? Why not call him out for preaching a false Gospel and giving false assurance? Hope my question makes sense. Peace.
@@nickswicegood4316 I described apostasy as a “falling away” from the faith, and said that an apostate is a person who professes to hold a biblical position but “falls away” from it - in the sense that they still profess to be conservative theologically while not actually standing for the faith, but contradicting it. I was not talking about losing salvation. Andy’s salvation is suspect to me; did he genuinely “get saved.”
Ah ok. I probably just don’t pick up the nuance. So in your mind you can be an apostate but still be a Christian like Charles Stanley thought. I get it. Thanks for clarifying.
@@nickswicegood4316good comments. I'm not sure whether you got an answer or not. You must be born again. John chapters 2-4, that would be The Messiah, referring to Ezekiel 36. @@nickswicegood4316personally I think people think they are Christian but as Jesus says I never knew you. People can confess and believe very passionately but still not be a Christian. In 1st John 2:19 they went out from us but never was one of us. So I don’t believe Andy is a Christian. Just look at his fruit. He hates the Bible and teaches against it all the time.
Charles Stanley was instrumental in making life miserable for all churches that did not believe in dispensationalism. When messengers to the convention in 1979 (if my memory serves me correctly) attempted to amend a committee report by striking a name and inserting another name, Stanley violated the messenger's parliamentary rights and simply refused to put the motion to a vote. When the convention erupted with calls for a motion to appeal he then proceeded to violate the entire convention's rights and refused to entertain the motion. (The convention should have moved a motion to declare the chair vacant, but apparently no one thought of that possibility.) Stanley was sued in federal court but that idea was thrown out by the federal judge because it had no basis in any federal statute. This event caused a split in the Southern Baptist Convention and hundreds of churches left and eventually formed the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. Perhaps the gentleman should get his facts straight before calling violent little punks as-if they were paragons of rectitude and fairness.

That falling away has been happening since Christ left and you can even follow that back to the garden!
