Wild ride, man! I had to hold on tight just watching the video! I plan to do an LS-S10 one of these days. Still working on a ‘79 El Camino…in a one car garage. Thanks for your willingness to share with others. You’re right, it’s important these days!
67 rs/ss camaro stroker based sbc + .060 over with biggest hydraulic cam 1990--1993 had to offer. 4.56 rear gear running a 10.0** qtr. Holley 1000 dbl pump dbl feed jetted as big as it would go @ 9-11psi at the carb. Victor jr intake @ 3.5" - 4.5" of spacers in there. Running Sunoco purple 114oct.
Subscribed to see more of the S10. It sounds good, like to see how it does with the gear and trans swap. I just started my s10 build on my channel this week.
I'll be working on the gear swap this weekend. The transmission will be soon. I'll need to get. Different driveshaft. Maybe. I'll keep yall posted. I appreciate the subscription and follow. I returned the favor! Happy New Years!
Try a 50 cc accelerator pump you may like the difference it makes. As far as traction in an s10. Any time you put a v8 in one your taking at least 200 lbs of weight off the back end. Your going to have to add that weight +some back to the rear to have any chance of getting it to hookup. Just adding racing slicks and traction aids ain't going to change anything until you put the weight back there. I know it's contrary to what people believe. I had to add 300lbs to rear of my s10 and it made a huge difference and hooksup even with street radials I run a 275/60/15 on the street. M/T E-T street 28×12.5 at the strip and street. I use a modified set of comp engineering slapper bars made for early novas. Nothing special but that's what i had to do to make my s10 hookup at the track. Hope you find this useful in some way
A 4.3 and a 350 are hardly different in weight its like 50 pounds if that, if you have aluminum heads on the sbc and an aluminum intake its actually lighter if you go LS its even lighter than that
Yep, the only reason mine's heavier is the camper shell and bigger rear end. I have aluminum heads, intake and waterpump. TH350 is lighter than the 4L60e that came in it. It's a full interior except headliner and the rear fold down seats. All steel. All factory suspension. CalTracs and safety loop add weight too. I believe the weight that added to it is all in the back. Soon, I'll be going to the fuel cell, bigger fuel lines. So that's the factory tank being removed and the fuel being all the way in the back. But, I understand the necessity of the weight in the back. The slicks help, but still spins. Even with only 10psi in them. I plan on fabricating something to hold the weight in the rear. Not sure what yet.
Oh yeah, as for the weight, I removed all extra wiring, the ecu, the tcu, the a/c stuff, power steering pump, the heavier exhaust manifolds, the exhaust, 16" circle out of the hood. Hmmmm, I think those were the main changes
Thanks. It's surprising crisp. Eventually I'll upgrade the ignition system. But as a whole it's a good matching setup. That's the important thing. The whole setup needs to match. It's a 355ci with 11.1:1 compression so I can run pump gas. Full interior, weighing in at 3350lbs with me in it. Th350 transmission w/5000 stall. 4.56 gears. Everything I've put in the truck matches the cam "requirements". So it does pretty well. So many people grab the biggest cam and try to use a low stall converter for streetablity. Then wonder why it's so horrible out the hole. A dead bottom end. Or a big cam and low compression. I've had a huge amount of input from my brother, Bill, that has helped me alot with GreenBean. Also, Bill Hoskinson's input on tuning various aspects of the vehicle has been incredibly helpful! I'll try to share what I due to help the next person if I can.
Hey this is the first time I seen this truck what is the cubic inch of the engine and heads compression what in the engine you said you don't mine sharing information I have a big block 439 I'm getting ready to out in my g body 88 ss monte carlo turbo 400 . Rick 427
It's a 355. 11.1:1 compression. Brodix IK200 heads. Lunati solid flat tappet cam. 5000rpm stall. Till this past weekend it had a powerglide in it. 4.56 gears. 750 Holley Street HP. ProComp single plane intake. Schoenfeld forward fender exit headers. Schoenfeld 6" mufflers
@@haf_fastracings1075you don't need all that much motor in a go cart and geez it really should be way more of an animal and break the tires loose at any speed too much stall for not enough weight it's way overkill and somehow still not right
@GlennManchester that's funny. So you'll love that it now has a 406 with about 120hp more and even more torque. So far, on its first time out, a 6.84/95mph is it's best. More to come. And, this is a street truck. I drive it on weekends. A really fun truck.
1:36 could have went very differently. The moment you saw that truck looking like it was going to roll out right in front of you. Honking that horn wouldn't have helped. Live & learn.
And wait, slick. Who is "everyone"? By the way, it is doing something. Tearing up my $315/tire tires up. Pretty cool my little homebuilt truck can do what it do.
I have been drag racing for more than 52 years. I would be glad to help set your suspension up but would need the truck at my shop to get it scaled out to start with. I am sure you know that the race is won and lost on the starting line. You will get it dialed in for sure. Good luck, it sounds great!
It seems a little icey, you might not understand my street racing talk but it acts like you don't have your tuner in the right location. You know how you got four or five police on you hard so you run then in a deep black curve at night and come out of 5th into 3rd a run it up in to 6500 rpm so they will freak out then throw it in 3rd throwe the tires to te ground set'em and really make'em bite then run it up to 6000rpm + and make the road get real small about a inch wide from shoulder to shoulder then fith well that was back when I was runing a 356 r&p I run a 211. I don't know what it will do now my truck I build it for AJ foyt my truck is just a rude crude and socially unaccetable.
Something that weighs nothing like that should be running like a 373:1 gear w a turbo 400 if the motor has any nuts to it the 373 gear should be perfect cuz again it doesn't weigh anything its a go cart for having that gear ratio to me it sounds like its going somewhere but it should be getting sideways every time you jumped on it like you did geez uncle tonys running in the 7s in the eighth in a stock jeep w a four liter five speed its a dog bro your doing something wrong check it out uncle tonys garage mission improbable hed give that a. Run for your money and without all the loudness you didn't even discuss the motor in it at all oh and if you want manual steering put a manual steering box in it dont leave the power steering box not hooked up it is way harder to steer as you already have found out thats more dangerous than fun it looks like to me sorry just calling it like i see it no offense bro please don't take this the wrong way i just been around working on small block chevys and all gm trucks cars etc for well a long time have had a dozen s10s five w 350s and they seemed way quicker than that and didn't make all that racket attracting attention to me im more into hearing the quadrajet moan than open headers but thats me sorry to ramble on have a good night bro
That little run at 1:20 almost went really bad for you if that ford wasn't on top of things. That was pretty stupid and irresponsible of you to put your neighbor's lives in great danger like that. Even if that ford just caused you to react and didn't pull all the way out, you could have been head on into the family in the oncoming lane. Not the mention blasting past all those businesses and driveways. Shame on you, you should know better at your age.
You created a real deadly situation there that made everything completely dependent on other people being able to react correctly to an unexpected speeding vehicle coming around a blind corner. There was absolutely nothing you could have done if they didn't see you, and you knew it. Hence putting your hand over the horn, as if that would have done anything to spare their lives. Shame shame shame. Glad it went favorably.
Youre like that really fun uncle lol. Great vid 👍
For that you gain another subscriber😁👍

I like that 3 Gage Stereo ,
Sounds Great !
Cool 57 Truck at the 5 minute mark
We have a 57 tow truck, 56 long bed step side truck and a very rusty 55 long bed.
Love your videos, I built a 79 camaro with a ls and a turbo. I just recently purchased an s10, plan on going ls also.
So you mean you're probably going to go ls also because you went ls in the Camaro?
@haf_fastracings1075 yes sir, it's a rush.

How many tickets have you got love that truck

I've redistributed what I couldn't remove. I'm doing better than stock weight distribution. Good shocks are a must, adjustable is always nice.
@Stainlessslayer some good shocks are in the works. I'm thinking some Vikings or something.
Thats a wild boy!
What a good cam for a 350
Sounds like it runs very good.

Sounds healthy looks fun
what exhaust system you got on?
Exhaust? Lol....I have the Schoenfeld 1398a forward exiting fender exit headers with their 6" round mufflers. It's pretty loud.

Subscribed right back at ya!
What transmission do you have
Realy like the ride I'm working on a s10 350 350 under a 65 corvair body thanks for the video.
It's a powerglide. I'm about to swap it out to a th350.
Looking good
Thank you
Nice 👍👍 🚒🍿

i made it almost 2 mins in and im good.
Thank you for 2mins of your time
Why does everyone think spinning is doing something

Puts a smile on my face ,

Spinnin ain't winnin, work on that suspension ;)
