Yeah, I was just entering High School by the time this era started happening - so I was at the perfect age for this era. I managed to get my grandfather into wrestling for the first time since the 50/60’s too - and we would always talk about last nights match and theory’s every Tuesday at dinner. So many memories. Especially this point and time with the PlayStation and N64. Only thing I would take back...was the clothing style back then, haha. But apparently mom jeans are making a comeback - even though they’ll forever be cringe to me, haha!
@@eastcoasteric No doubt great times. My grandfather is actually who got me into liking wrestling in the early 80s, he'd take me and my cousins to shows quite a bit and we'd get together to watch ppvs later in 80s. High school and college was the perfect age for the Monday Night War era.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Scott Hall walking on Nitro on that day I saw the episode. That famous line where he said "You people, you know who I am, but you don't know why I'm here?" I actually thought he was not gonna speak in character when I saw him come that night.

Thank you so much for this series! I loved wrestling as a young kid, Hulk and Bret Hart.. I watched from age 4-7 (early 90s). I was too didn't have access to wrestling from age 8-15 but dipped in when possible at friends houses and played the video games and acted it out on the streets still etc. I started watching again in 2000, and missed most of the war. Despite that, it is my fave time in wrestling, I love watching and reading about it. I am a huge nWo, Kliq & Austin mark, and this content is absolute gold. Thanks!
@broootal I think you need your eyes checked mate 44k (Current viewership a week later of the last episode) isn't 700k (The lowest AEW gets) or even a million (The lowest RAW still gets which is still the highest for the USA network) it's nearly like just calling something unwatchable garbage when in reality it just doesn't suit your tastes is just downright wrong

I'm soooooo happy this episode has finally come into fruition. My 11 year old mine was blown when I saw Razor coming through the crowd, and what a great promo that left my mind racing. I'll never forget it.
I waited months for this episode to drop to begin binge-watching the series thus far. Was not disappointed; good coverage, tight editing, smart calls on format changes. A definitive look at the MNW for sure. The commentary on Hogan/Leslie/Glacier cracks me up every time

So, haven't finished watching the full video but, with how you're handling the unopposed hour of Nitro, I like it and, is probably the fairest way of scoring it. Giving a point on if you would've actually stayed with Nitro. I like it.
I remember this show like it's the back of my hand. I couldn't even tell you what went on in WWF at the time because I was so fixed to Nitro. I was always a huge wrestling fan no matter what the promotion. I loved ECW , WWF, WCW and all the rest of the territories. But when Scott Hall appeared on this show followed by Kevin Nash the following week we, were in for a real treat for a while. It caused the WWF to change and pick up their game. Great work on the wrestling bios man, keep up the good work! I love reliving the war and the rest of your bios! Great job dude
To think, all of us who have been watching this show every week since last year and we’re finally at this point. Crazy to think this show has just started.
The thing is that just about every wrestling fan was switching between both shows. No matter how good WCW nitro's first hour was you were still going to see what WWF raw was going to do at the start of Raw. I always much preferred WWF over WCW but boy does wrestling miss WCW these days and having that competition.
The new format was pretty good for the first week. Also I'm digging the subtle jokes and digs on the shows over the last couple weeks. I got a couple solid laughs this episode.
And with Scott entering the Hall the way he did, the rest of the 90s see some of the most memorable moments that both companies had to offer. A long fuse had been lit and the powder keg explosions during the Monday Night Wars are getting ready to ignite. The insidious inception of the NWO was masterfully executed over the upcoming weeks, and replaying that in parallel lines with what Raw was cooking up via the heated ascent of Stone Cold will be amazing viewing. Looking forward to the upcoming weeks of this series! Thanks.
As a kid I was confused about Razor Ramon and Desiel just suddenly disappearing off TV and then Scott Hall shows up on Nitro and then I'm like "I know that guy!" Since then I've been watching a lot more Nitros.
This happened 2 days after my 9th birthday. Never realized how impactful this would be for the rest of the existence of wrestling. Really enjoying this series! It gets me through my workday.

I was lucky, we got it on basic cable here in the UK while WWF was on premium so I watched an absolute ton of it at the time and preferred it while still loving WWF too. The presentations were so very different and unique to each other back then, always loved that WCW was a touch more sport based.

I think the whole legal situation resulted in a settlement that allowed WWF to get "first bid" if WCW ever came up for sale.
