Traveling in style.. That was a great tank in its day, I think Australia in Vietnam, and the IDF are the only countries to actually use it in battle, a good thing I guess.
If you have problems with FVGCE take box out - yes I know it’s heavy I used to pass it up to two gunners- open it up on bench - it’s like a book and check valves perhaps you call them tubes to see all the heaters are working . You can see them glow under the cathode at the bottom of the valve. No glow no go! If all correct there look to connections on gyros and clean with needle file. If ok there look to limit switches. These are no longer obtainable as I could not get them 50 years ago. Take out the back with a very fine soldering iron and reset the byrilium blade then exercise by hand for ten minutes. If no problems solder back in and ri install. Better still supply new blade but may be difficult to come by unless you have a local electronics factory. Driver doing well and captain/gunner seems well in charge! Have a good New Year from UK
Cool, I was just looking at the weather we’ve got weather like that in England at the moment in fact, some of the mud the other day when I was rolling my motorcycle actually splashed in my eye. Yeah the weather almost identical. Happy New Year to you Michael from England
Lottie! Was an unexpected pleasure to find that you have your own channel. Obviously I have seen you on AUSARMOUR and have been totally amazed at your skills and your abilities. If I may ask, and sorry if it was covered in another video, but whose tank is that? Where are you filming? Just wondering. Lottie, I have subscribed and will catch up on the videos as I get time. But keep up the good work!
I really enjoyed this video. Seeing from inside was interesting, but most of the video felt like an FPS game. It’ll be fun to see when the driver gets more comfortable with the tank.
Hi Lottie thank you for sharing another awesome video. A massive thanks for taking the time to make the videos for us to enjoy, hope you had a awesome Christmas 🎄 let's hope you have a fantastic New year 😊.
Admittedly, it's a bit slow for my taste... but he wasn't over reving or doing anything dangerous or wrong. In my books, that's a pretty good start. Besides, Centurion is certainly no Leopard, slow is good 😅
I hope someone tells the owner that there is more than one gear, I have ridden in a centurion, it's awesome at speed. Bren gun carriers are also fun to drive with their reverse pattern H shift.
Many years ago I drove a Renault tractor with an upside down gearbox. A bit awkward for the first few days but twenty five years later I still think it was one of the best little tractors ever. Model 6514. A mate of mine had a Chieftain on his farm, very useful for using hundreds of gallons of unwanted and expensive diesel. I understand that the American moron called Whistling Diesel now owns it. I bet he will fuck the hell out of it. Tanks have a reputation for being big and tough. In fact they are full of fragile components pushed to their limits and they require a huge amount of skilled maintenance. Best of luck to you.
Cows are as curious about the Centurion as the rest of us tank nerds. Driver did a good job of threading the needle, but come on kick it in the gas, lets go! Meanwhile Lottie tortures the truck driver by laying on him with the main gun. I recall my TC saying i want to feel the wheels, by which he meant he didn't want to be jerked around he wanted us to drive the tank like a car.
Yeah, getting 'flagged' by your mate with a rifle is bad enough, but being flagged by the gun on a MBT would be a seriously puckering experience. lol Great video, Lottie. 👍
Hello Lottie and all my wishes for success for 2024. Thank you for your very interesting and adictive videos. A question ; Why the engine seems to yell at full speed when the tank advances very slowly and less when it goes faster. Thank you from France. (Thanks Google for translate !!!)
That's more of a driver side effect. The Centurion has a terribly low first gear (great for difficult terrain) to get any decent speed you need to rev it a bit higher. With practice, drivers learn how to change up faster and smoother. The higher gears always sound better because they get momentum and reduce load.
Love to see this video, was a tank commander myself on a Centurion in 1978, Dutch Army ... 101 tankbat Bravo company
A friend of my dads drove a Centurion in Vietnam. He said it was the best fun he ever had.

It must feel great after fixing the best British tank ever and going on test drives great video to 👍👍👍👍👌👌👌😊
Very good giving us a view from the vision slots and gunners sight .Would be a most pleasant experience going for ride in the Centurion 😎😎welljell.
You must have the coolest job in the world!
hope to see more in 2024👌👍👍👍👍
Great to see the beast rolling 😄
Enjoyed that. So how many gallons of fuel do you reckon the tank got through on that little trip to the creek & back? Sounded really sweet running 👌
Thats some beautiful country.
Love it , your cent sounds amazing ,great workg , I also follow Mr hewes also a great channel ,,
Happy new year pete and lottie from the uk.

The owner wishes to remain anonymous. The tank is located near the NSW/ Vic border.
@@lottiethetankwhisperer I understand! Thanks for the reply. Happy New Year!

Big war machine that squish that truck flat as a pancake in 11 seconds... but soooo relaxing 😎
Hi Lottie. What a tankfix. I wish you a happy new year. Torben from Denmark
Beautiful countryside .. by centurion. Perfect summers day out
mel Gibson needed this in mad max 2 (the roadwarrior)

This is SO COOL! Thanks for posting such incredible content. :-)
Merry Christmas and happy new year from Tennessee USA
What fun. See you in the new year.
Merry Christmas! An A/C unit over a christmas tree doesn't look right...
The joys of living in Australia 😅
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas Lottie
Lottie, if you are saying nice things about a novice tank driver’s progress, he must be doing well😁! Cheers from NZ🇳🇿.

@@lottiethetankwhisperer Too true. Learn to drive the vehicle and then … learn to drive it more quickly i.e., with urgency, as the NZ Army taught me.

Worry not. It was his first time. The next vid will show some serious speed... for a Cent 😅

Not asking where it is now but did that tank used to reside in Guildford? If so I've traveled in it
Also, what are the "fins" on the bore evacuator? Never seen them before or at least do not remember.
They are to balance the main gun 😊
What's up with the 3 metal pieces on the bore evacuator?
They are for balancing the gun.
@@lottiethetankwhisperer I thought of something similar, thanks for the info.

@@lottiethetankwhisperer right. Driver move out!

Great video, Lottie. 👍
Mate, im SO jelly.
As for talking in a tank try a throat-mic. As for the turret, after you get the stabilization working correctly, can you fit a 120mm?

Great vid, can't believe cows treat a 50 ton tank as 'normal'!
They are awfully stupid creatures 🤣
what variant of the centurion is this? i'm no expert in centurions... so sorry if this question seems like a dumb one...
It's a 5/1 used by Australian. This one is set up in more or less the condition they were used in Vietnam 😊

Yeeaah!!
How many gallons to the mile does it get?
I think we got 4 or 5 in Germany!

Need to treat that thing like a tank. plus, comms between you and the driver would help.
