Would you rather have a famine and food shortages all across America next year because of the drought we've been living in for the past two decades here?

Thanks for explaining, but when agriculture meets mass production and supply and demand chains can't keep up, OCD lawyers and the ACLU will always take advantage of that.
The first step in fixing a problem is admitting that there IS a problem. Sadly, a lot of people had no idea this was happening in America. These kind of news stories will hopefully help make people more aware that they need to get lawmakers to do something or vote them out.
I'm tired of there being more and more stories like this over the last 20 years. While the numbers on the richest americans lists keep getting bigger. Look in the mirror before the pitchforks come out...
I’ve known about this for a long time. I’m Roma and had to be intentionally adopted from Hungary because how my people are treated in Europe. The village where my birthfamily came from was near a famous tourist destination, and yet, it lacked running water & electricity.
"She uses expensive bottled water" (6:49) from coin-operated dispensers that, when tested, often sell water that is even more contaminated than the municipal sources they draw from.
The whole West Virginia delegation needs to be in prison starting with Joe Manchin. They have totally ruined that state's quality of life. Dependency on the coal industry for jobs is a death sentence.
Hmm, I noticed Flint Michigan was not mentioned in this video? Why do you ask I bring this up? Not only is the water still contaminated (after five years), no one went to jail, but because the people of Flint Michigan STILL have to pay exorbitant water bills?!
I have very little in life, just enough money for my basic needs but no luxuries like cable tv or going out to dinner (haven’t gone out to dinner in about five years, I just realized). But....I have enough to donate to this cause. That the Native Americans are reduced to living in stark poverty without the basic fundamentals required to heat or cool their homes the way the rest of the US do. How would lawmakers in this country handle living like this? Isn’t it bad enough that the Europeans trapped and slaughtered them here in their own land? Is further decimation called for? I have only watched the first few moments of this video so far, it is compelling me to act to help my brothers and sisters from other tribes have a better life. I’m an old woman who’s almost seventy and it makes my heart ache to see how these folks must live. Praying for safe water for everyone. Make the wealthy go without for a day to see a glimpse of what it’d be like. 😶
Our priorities as a country are pretty messed up for people to not have clean and safe water! I'm glad this sheds light on the issues, as well as solutions, even though this is where the government should step in to help! What are our taxes going towards? We're in this together. We are not at a point where it's every person for themselves and survival of the fittest.

Donald is the worst of the worst among them. Not even your voting system functions without cheating.

Billions of dollars are being given to billionaires and yet, these people don't have basic running water. Such a shame.

@Rick Y sad but true.
It's true that minority sometimes don't have water. I'm black and I remember in my childhood in Tennessee we would have to go buy gallons of water from the grocery store or have family that had water give us some.
@@bubblybubbles4023 I'm so sorry to hear about that. This is another example of racial injustice. Water like food is a basic human right!
Heart wrenching. The wealth disparity in our country is utterly shameful.
I can’t imagine having no water for longer than a few hours.. this makes me ill. Needs to change now!
Hey Jeff Bezos (and other billionaires)...jump on in and help these small towns. Don't worry, you'll still have billions left to spend on things that don't matter!
The US government has enough money. STOP wasting it on the military.
Or, or... and here me out... states can fix these problems with the assistance of the federal government. Yes, private companies can do more (and Gates & Bezos certainly have the cash to help), but it should not be ignored by government officials.

@@diamondamongrocks Sweden here. Yes, you are fully exposed. It is a mystery that many working class people vote republican. Republican leaders don't give a damn about the American people unless they are rich. America needs to improve the education system and teach students about different political ideologies and to think critically and independently. That could be one step forward for progress in America, When it comes to social welfare and equal opportunities for everyone America is an underdeveloped country. A huge military defense for billions of dollars, but no drinking water for the people. Tragic and shameful for America..
karin backstrom Trump is not a real Republican. He has been a democrat his entire life. He was friends with the Clintons before the election. His daughter and her daughter were friends. Trump has in essence singlehandedly destroyed the Republican Party. Trump is a racist and he appeals to poor White racists. They know they are being taken advantage of, but they are blaming the wrong people. They finally have a open political platform to air out their racism and hate in trump. He gave them a voice. Even though he hates the poor, he will use their votes to enrich himself and his family. He hates the Republicans especially the ones who laugh at him. He is making them all suffer and they will lose their seats.
@Julie Frazier That is why schools have to teach about different political ideologies , to teach students the importance of read ing and critically analyze newspapers and other media and reports. The republican voters are the most ignorant and the least educated part of the American people. Republicans like it like that, they don't want thinking, educated people, they are a threat to their evil, greedy agenda.

That's the best attitude to have for ANY problem. Local solutions to local problems beats waiting on "political will" every time.
They shouldn't have to. They should actually expect their taxes to pay for public infrastructure and representatives who care.
I agree that taxes should pay for and maintain infrastructure; but, we have to do our part to solve our problems in our community. We have to put our brains and hands to work. Texas
Stories like these make me ashamed of our government and its lack of action to provide simple, basic human rights to their people, the people of the richest country in the world! Jeff Bezos is the richest man IN THE WORLD! Water is a basic requirement for our survival. To deny it to anyone - regardless of their race or economic status - is downright immoral.

Actually if you want rich ppl to blame, look at all the golf resorts in states that are literally desert landscapes. Also all the indoor and outdoor pools. As a California native I understand California politics and water is an essential resource for agriculture. Would you rather have a famine and food shortages all across America next year because of the drought we've been living in for the past two decades here?
Tamalyn Cervin my point was, no “man” should “own” something that is freely produced by our mother earth... I wasn’t even opening the can of worms of farmers... with all due respect.

The first step in fixing a problem is admitting that there IS a problem. Sadly, a lot of people had no idea this was happening in America. These kind of news stories will hopefully help make people more aware that they need to get lawmakers to do something or vote them out.

I’ve known about this for a long time. I’m Roma and had to be intentionally adopted from Hungary because how my people are treated in Europe. The village where my birthfamily came from was near a famous tourist destination, and yet, it lacked running water & electricity.
That breaks my heart. No family should have to split up because of poverty and racism.
It's always bugged me when I see people wasting water.
This is a disgrace...congrats America!

Disgusting and heartbreaking!!
The city or the government should buy the houses if they want to move because there’s no water.
Do you think they'd get anywhere near enough money to be able to move somewhere else? Plus having to find jobs and build a new life.
