I don't have this monitor or plan on getting one (at least right now), but it popped up in my recommended and I wanted to say that this is a very concise, well made video and I love giving engagement to smaller channels that clearly put in the effort! Very well done sir!
Thanks for taking the time to leave us a message 🙏
Thanks, been looking forward to this one :)
It's awesome how you do these
Great job thank you.
Just in time! Mine was just delivered. Thanks!
Still waiting for stock dont have one help please best prices in Canada :(
does this monitor have built in speakers?
@@cristescudan2326 instead of speakers it gives u 1 extra usb port & a charging 65w port :) C+ connector :)
@@adamtajhassam9188 besides de c+ conector i am not really bothered by the rest. I was just curious because at that price point the speakers are a must for me. And considering the competition has them for the 4k variants, i think this should have had them as well. I dont really want to occupy desk space again.
the biggest plus w this screen was the color correction and gamt sure u can pick up a lg or whatever but its imbalanced and no settings can change that. i would suggest hardware unboxed review is more accurate review. if speakers from a screen isa problem u dont really get the best sound . sad you need speakers from the screen ..
Thak you for this Video
Appreciate it
I might as well wait for ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDP
im usually all about matte especially in the photography i do, but hot damn does my ucdm look amazing.. plus im having 0 issues with any glare and i have my setup right next to my bedroom window.. if i ever do i have an awesome blind that i pull down and blocks all light from coming through.
Glad that you mention flicker while VRR. I heard that VRR flicker on OLED is unavoidable. Is that so ? What is the purpose of "g-sync compatible" cerificatation then ?
i do think the issue itself is with g-sync and not vrr. please correct me if i am wrong tho.
Can u make a video for the best settings for the Samsung oddesey Neo g8 pls
Lucky enough to order one from Amazon but yet to be fulfilled
I'm patiently waiting on you guys' review of the LG 32GS95UE.
@TFTCentral When you run the WINDOWS HDR Calibration app, did you notice the FIRMWARE issue with the PG32UCDM yet? In the Max Luminance Test (with HDR enabled) it begins disappearing at only 400 or so nitts, when it shouldn't disappear until 1,000 and then it displays correctly on the MAX FULL FRAME luminance ajustment as it will disappear at exactly 1,000 nitts. ASUS needs to adjust where it cuts off luminance, because on test B in the Calibration app, it should NOT be disappearing at only 400 nitts. I have other 1,000 nitt monitors that complete this test correctly. We need to get ASUS to push an HDR firmware update to address this cut-off that occurs and to make the monitor conform with Windows HDR bettter.
It’s not something we tested and we no longer have access to the screen. But I wouldn’t be worried about it cutting anything off or causing problems. That tool doesn’t impact your peak brightness. It will just be a mismatch with the info being read from the monitor in the tool, but the scale shown is fairly meaningless
When do i need to do pixel cleaning for this monitor?
hi tft
I read your article regarding BFI, particularly on this monitor but not entirely sure if its 'on' so to speak
I have DSC disabled in order to use DLDSR but locked to 120hz (I assume due to bandwidth limitations), does that mean BFI is enabled by default?
from what I read it should make 120hz almost seem as smooth as 240hz? but the difference is still quite perceptible to me, am I missing some kind of setting?
You unfortunately have to disable Variable Refresh Rate in the OSD menu for this to work and then the option below that will become adjustable (ELMB - enable that).
In my opinion the concessions aren't worth it (no VRR, lower brightness, black frames shown at the same length as normal ones)... 😔
Hey TFT thanks for the video. One question- I noticed in the video the saturation level is set to 80 but you didn’t specifically call out setting it to that. My unit shipped with it at 50. Do you recommend setting it to 80 regardless of using SRGB mode or wide gamut? Thank you
Disregard-saw others asked the same question
Do one for the Alienware aw2725df PLEASE
Proximeter sensor is not an on and off button but rather HIGH MIDDLE LOW. What would it be?
Do you guys have any intentions of testing the LG 27GS95QE
iv just got this monitor i just got hdr settings ungreyed but then gaming hdr movie hdr and the others are still greyed out. and hdr active has washed out the colours any help please
What profile do you use hdr mode? Is it user / wide gamut?
For some reason all of my picture settings seem to have a yellow tint to them I dont know exactly how to explain it. I have tried all of the HDR modes and for the life of me I cant remove the tint. Its almost as if the color temperature by default is on warm
Do the new xiaomi miniled fast ips MONITOR review (source from BOE)
I leave HDR on windows permanently, you mentioned not to, any particluar reason? much obliged for this video!! subbed!

Can you use ELMB at a 60hz resolution and let the monitor framedouble, or do you specifically need to be at 120hz output resolution.
I'm thinking it might be a great fit for retro gaming (given how good scanline shaders look on a 4k oled).
Only works when set at 120Hz
Can’t find this monitor anywhere
Thanks for video. I really like super resolution (sharpening) setting in gigabyte monitors. It's so good in level 2 and eliminate bluryness in every games. is asus vividpixel have same level control of sharpening?
Not sure, it’s not something we tested I’m afraid
Would love a best setting guide for Dell Alienware aw2725df
When viewing SDR content use Creator-sRGB with contrast at 75% and gamma 2.2 with brightness at your preference.
When you want to consume HDR videos or games use HDR Peak 1000 or True Black 400 modes.
Is changing "color space" to sRGB in other modes the same as sRGB color mode (except unlocked options you have with the former)?
Basically yes. Would do the same colour gamut clamping, but doing it via that setting allows you to also adjust other things if you want
At 06:10 it looks like all graphs are capped out at 470nits brightness. Is there currently no "peak 1000" mode as on Alienware?
Those were based on a 10% area APL and purely to show the roll off points. All modes except the true black 400 mode reach 1000 nits ish. More details in the written review linked
Is this monitor g-sync compatible, and if not will it be in a future firmware uodate?
It is g-sync and freesync compatible 👍
Thanks for the great video, using these settings now. Saturation at 80 tho? I mean its looking good its just first time I see an oled with saturation at 80 recommended.
It’s just whatever the default is. No need to change from that. The image in the video is actually a screenshot from the manual, so the default might actually be something else like 50? May have missed that in the image, and assumed it’s the default. Can you confirm what default is and I’ll add a pinned comment!
@@tftcentral Default looks to be 80 but feels very oversaturated tbh.
@adnantheone might just be getting used to the wider gamut of the panel? You could try the sRGB mode for SDR usage too
@@adnantheone Mine default was 50.
Not sure if you will see this but when I enable uniform brightness the screen gets very dim, it seems better with it off. Is there a reason I should turn it on? Also I have my brightness set to 80, putting it down to your 40 makes it dark
The review linked in the description for testing and explanation of UB mode on and off 👍
hi just got the screen has an asus 4090 graphics card so now I want to know what is best to use HDMI or display
Either is fine
Will the ROG ACL01 desktop mount kit work?
Not sure. You’ll have to check the Asus spec or contact them to double check
Is it normal that it's extremely wonky to set the HDR calibration in some games? For example in Cyberpunk 2077 in the HDR settings, the preview pictures change dramatically when I switch between Gaming HDR and Console HDR, one of them basically deletes all the detail in brighter areas when leaving the peak brightness at 1000-1050 nits.
Also had some problems in the windows HDR calibration app, where it basically caps out on around 500 nits on all modes.
I assume that's just because of the high APL of that test image, so is it fine to just set the slider to 1000 on both of the peak brightness steps?
I saw this quite often where these test images simply are basically useless.
I have my HDR currently calibrated to 1050 nits peak, but on the advanced display info it shows 455 nits, it's all a bit confusing 😁.
I wonder if some of the HDR problems (some people are noticing) will be ironed out with a firmware update.
HDR and KVM issues are noted by a lot of users and the HDR issue was stated to ASUS member on Reddit. Hopefully we will see the firmware update soon to fix these issues.
@@markkulaitinen9177 I just hope there isn't a big misunderstanding with this whole thing and it is indeed an actual bug.
I wish there was only 2 HDR modes, the true black one and a peak 1000 or something, spent way too much time switching between all of them.
I feel like the gaming mode has the brightest highlights and it also brings out the most details in really bright regions, but then again in some regions, it is also completely overblown.
How can i adjust sharp setting on this monitor??? Can you show me how, pls, tks!!!
I guess that's vividpixel option
How do you turn on HDR in windows so that "HDR settings" is not greyed out when you want to watch HDR content?
It’s in windows display settings. Google is your friend 😀
now i just need to get my hands on one unit, sold out since month here in europe
the msi and asus one never been in stock here, but the seller websites claim about 50 being sold, and three reviews on those so someone got a hold of one.
I highly recommend the lowered priced LG OLED G2 55 instead. I paid $1000 with calman calibration and am having a blast right now, it is so much more value for the price !
Was first unsure due to size - couldn't be happier.
I have a LG C3 42 Inch. And i really want to like it. But it not so easy. I preorderd the Asus PG32UCDM Last month and i‘m still waiting. I very curious if the asus is worth the 1500€ in comparison to Lg tv. I doubt it.
Yeah those are the one who ordered despite it being out of stock...@@sudd3660
@@kaykayYTube the main problem with the 42 and 48 inch is the brightness, they have problems making it brighter (yes even the 32 inch and 27 inch) to make it as bright as the 55 and bigger versions.
That said, the QD-OLED will probably be better for you, it is definitely more vivid than the 42 inch c3
why cant i leave windows running hdr all the time? looks great with it on. plus im a heavy game been using nvidia's beta app and omg what a difference with its ai rtx hdr and ai rtx dynamic vibrance..
Mine just arrived today. I'm still not sure *why* I shouldn't leave HDR enabled?
It seems much simpler than having to remember to change it for specific content.
Cause it’s meant to be used to view HDR content. Viewing SDR stuff with HDR on doesn’t look good.
This explains more tftcentral.co.uk/articles/heres-why-you-should-only-enable-hdr-mode-on-your-pc-when-you-are-viewing-hdr-content
Hi . how i Turning on/off the monitor ? i dont know how .. can you help ?
Press in on the right side of the button. It’s flat but it’s clicky
I done the bios update for the monitor and it said sucess! And now my monitor is only showing black and white wtf
Do you know what is the brightness setting for 100nits in SDR (sRGB color space) mode with uniform brightness turned on?
Not exactly I’m afraid but lower it a few steps from the 120 nits setting and you should be very close
@@tftcentral thanks !
Should I update the bios for this monitor on the Asus website?
Yes it includes bug fixes and improvements
my problem is that there's no color accurate mode that lets you use wide-gamut when supported without oversaturating everything....
why can't we just have srgb gamut for srgb but when wide gamut is supported, it'd display the better colors?
Those two things can’t work together. The gamut is the colour space of the display that will be active. If you have a wide gamut operating, then when you display a smaller colour space it will mean those colours get “stretched” to the wider colour space and are the over saturated and not accurate. The gamut needs to match the colour space of the content you want to work with if you want it to be accurate, there’s no getting around that
@@tftcentral it works on my Mac, and partially acre monitor.
Instead of stretching they could be clamped
Well that is possible from this Asus screen too, you just change the colour space setting to sRGB (or whatever you want to use) and it clamps the native panel gamut back to that reference. That will then deliver better accuracy (very good on this model if you check out our review). But the screen is no longer operating in wide gamut mode then. But neither is your current screen
For the firmware bios update I have to use a flash drive right? Via usb
Follow the instructions on their support pages for this
Figured it out. I used the cable with the USB A and B that came with the monitor. One key setup updated it no problem. Went from 101 to 103 version. 👍
does the pixel cleaning run by itself when you turn off the display? i read the manual and it said something about 'orange' color illuminating when pixel cleaning is active.
Pretty sure it runs when screen goes to standby and the power led flashes amber
what do u mean exactly by "standby"? ive been using the monitor for a few days and i noticed when i physically turn off the monitor using the power button, pixel cleaning NEVER kicks in. It only kicks in when i put my PC to sleep mode and DO NOT turn off the monitor using the physical power button. @@tftcentral
That’s what I mean by standby. Pc put to sleep or turned off, and the screen goes in to standby at which point the cleaning can run
@@mytommythat’s what he means by standby when monitors asleep rather than off
last question, does this monitor support HDCP 2.2? There is a way to check this on the Edge browser using the command "edge://gpu" and it showed false for me? this may not be accurate though. Im worried because some streaming sites require HDCP 2.2 support to watch HDR @@tftcentral
when the pg34wcdm ?
No plans for a video for that but you’ll find our recommended settings and calibrated ICC profile in our database tftcentral.co.uk/articles/icc-profiles-and-monitor-calibration-settings-database
Does this still apply with the latest firmware update that includes Dolby Vision?
Not had chance to test that at the moment but i wouldn’t expect any difference to SDR settings
@@tftcentral okay thanks.
why should i not leave hdr on all the time, assuming im not playing hdr content
tftcentral.co.uk/articles/heres-why-you-should-only-enable-hdr-mode-on-your-pc-when-you-are-viewing-hdr-content
Do people leave their PG32UCDM in standby mode or turn it off when it's not in use? Also does the monitor do it's OLED maintenance in stand by mode, OFF or both?
Just leave it to go to standby mode. Pretty sure the maintenance only runs in standby mode
@tftcentral in the manual, it says when powered "off" it will do a pixel cleaning.
Please look into this for us.
I don’t have the screen any more to test it but I’m pretty sure they mean when it goes in to standby and the display is off. Not when the power is turned off
@tftcentral it literally says when "powered off" not when the monitor is on the standby.
Since you no longer have the monitor I'll go with the manual. Thanks for the reply. Enjoyed the video.
@shortyorc121 another user has commented on this same video saying the pixel cleaning only happens when the screen is in standby, and won’t run if you turn the screen off via it’s power button. Have a look at his comments
Does this monitor come with cables?
Yes; DP, HDMI, usb-c, usb-b.
I have this monitor but it does not “filled up” the whole screen connected to my ps5.Any advise?Already adjust screen settings on my ps5
Is it just the small area reserved for the pixel shift feature around the edges?
Yes i think so..is that normal?or do i need to adjust something somewhere?sorry this is my 1st monitor..i dont really know much.
@shahmaserati that’s normal for OLED screens as it helps reduce the risk of image retention by occasionally shifting the image a few pixels. Nothing to worry about 😀
@@tftcentral Thanks! You the best.Just read up on this LOL. My 1st OLED monitor and loving it.Gaming and movies👍
Can you please tell me how turn hdr off. It’s driving me nuts that I can’t figure it out. All my settings are locked behind it
You’d need to turn it off in windows display settings
@@tftcentral thank you, I have a Mac so that’s probably the first step is to acquire a windows computer. Much appreciated 🙏🏾 subscribed and like 👍🏾
@trevordavis3027 on a Mac there must be a way to disable it too in the OS but I’m not familiar with it I’m afraid
@@tftcentral if I find the answer for Mac, I’ll post it here.
Anyone else having issues were the screening protection settings are getting turned off??
I had them on but every time I go in and do a cleaning they are turned off
Update to MCM103 firmware.
I think there is something wrong with my windows, every monitor I’ve tried to use HDR content on it’s completely washed. Grey colors and I turn HDR off and it looks great. Only happens when I turn HDR on in windows
That’s fairly common but that’s when you’re viewing windows desktop which is rendered in SDR, within the HDR mode. HDR should only be enabled when you’re viewing actual HDR content
tftcentral.co.uk/articles/heres-why-you-should-only-enable-hdr-mode-on-your-pc-when-you-are-viewing-hdr-content
@@tftcentral I know but I have Cod MW3 for example which is an auto HDR game and the game looks awful in HDR. Barely any color but when I switch HDR off it looks how it should with HDR on
I can't find it. From where i buy it
True, many have bought something else as a result. ASUS blundered once again and limited their income potential.
So frustrating. Same thing with MSI. All of these 27”-32” flat QD OLED monitors are nearly impossible to find.
Except for Alienware’s version. Props to them for that.
What happened to strike now while the iron is hot? I guess months later this will just be laying somewhere waiting to be bought just like the other pricey monitors from ASUS. They weren’t prepared to handle customer demand except Dell. I’d be interested to know how many units have each of these companies actually sold.
@@samuelgalindo46 asus and gigabyte are on backorder and preorder at newegg respectively. MSI is still out of stock though.

Is that because you’ve got HDR enabled all the time in windows?
dont think you mentioned it, but do you just keep saturation at 80 always?
Whatever the default setting is, which I believe was 80?
@@tftcentral hmm i think my default setting was only 30, so thats a huge difference!
Leave it on the default. That is a screenshot from the user manual, I assumed that showed the default setting and other viewers have suggested that is the default too. Might vary by preset mode I suppose. Basically just leave that alone 😀

Hi Simon, I’ve read your review for this monitor many times and want to make sure I have this correct.
This is the way I see operating this monitor according to the data you have provided in your review.
You have four viable modes for SDR content. Racing-sRGB, Racing-DCI-P3, Racing-Wide Gamut, and sRGB Cal. Two out of the four are sRGB emulation modes that target two different gammas which is useful depending on if you’re playing a FPS title or single player game.
The other two are to be used if you like saturated and inaccurate colors for consuming SDR content and gaming in SDR with DCI-P3 specifically pulling back a bit on the red saturation level.
Wouldn’t GameVisual Racing mode work fine for SDR content targeting a 2.2 gamma depending on which color gamut the user wanted to use as they all track closely to 6500K?
Then, if the user desires they can use the sRGB Cal mode to target the sRGB gamma that is more useful for FPS titles.
Do I have this all correct? Thanks! I absolutely loved your review and am really enjoying this monitor!
Yeah that all sounds right and makes sense!
@@tftcentral Thank you and keep up the great work!
Sent mine back, the fact you can’t change White balance and are locked out of adjusting settings in HDR mode really is a turn off, every one is different. I for one do not enjoy the yellow tint to my games while playing in hdr mode. I prefer a slightly cooler look and not being able to get that is unacceptable imo. Back to my c2
Thanks you so much for this message... I've bought one and it's on the way, i also have a C2 42 like you, and i like cooler tints on screens as well. Is it really true that you can't change White Balance? 😮 If it's, i am returning mine too.
@@Curimo it is true mate. Totally locked out. Which I find absolutely ridiculous! Every one is different so why not let you set white balance and other settings to what the user wants. 🤦 a massive L imo. The new LG 32 inch WOLED coming however lets you change colour temp so that’s what I’m gonna go for next
Does it support dldsr at full 4k @ 240hz?
No afraid not. Check the written review for info about when that’s available
Any reason you recommend "User mode" in this video, but "Racing mode" in your written review?
User mode is also selected in the calibration section of the review
@@tftcentral Yeah I noticed that. As per your review, and testing it out for myself on desktop and games, I think for the sRGB "Display Color Space" setting, the best / most accurate color setting mode would be to use the "Racing mode" instead of the "User mode". Everything else like you said - color temp 6500k etc.
The GameVisual "User mode" setting, as per this video, seems to give the image a little too much red. Whilst the "Racing mode" as per your written review looks more neutral - white/blueish which is quite noticeable for snowfields for example.
