My LG G4 came in the other day and I’m loving it; now looking to get an 27” OLED monitor for my PC setup and I believed you just convinced me to go with this one. Great video Slyclient!
I've been using OLEDs since 2019, I stopped babying my TVs and monitors after 2022, I haven't had any of them burn in as I never have the same static image on them. Like another user suggested, you can hide the task bar, and change the wallpaper to a solid color for peace of mind. Having said that, nice video! First time seeing one, very enjoyable, gotta show love to us old timers lol. I've been thinking about getting this MSI, current set up I'm using an LG 27' OLEd 240hz and an Alienware curved oled 32 inch 240hz, but a 27inch 360hz for sweaty FPS shooters sounds delicious tho lol. Ugh.
@fkscreennames US old timers is right, brother! LoL Yes, there is so much chatter about burn in that I'm sick of it. Just do everything you just said and take care of your stuff, and you will be fine. Thanks for watching. I appreciate the support, man. Cheers!
Awesome, and congrats to you! You will love the MAG! Everything I've heard about it is that it is amazing as well. Also, thank you for the feedback and I appreciate you taking the time to watch.
Hey, thanks for watching. If you are set on a faster refresh rate, then definitely wait. Or when they come out, you might be able to get an even better deal on this one.
Hi I am looking for a monitor like this to connect up to my Asus Rog will this work connecting my Asus up to the monitor? Also what equipment are you using behind your monitor please.
Hey thanks for watching. Does you can fefinitly hook an asus rog ally up to this monitor. You will need a docking station to do so to connect the Ally via usbc to the dock. From the dock you can connect an hdmi cable to the monitor. That's really all you need. JSAUX makes some really good ones designed to work with the Ally. You should check them out their website
That looks so good! But the constant worrying and maintenance about burn in is holding me back from getting an oled monitor. Especially playing an mmo wherein there are a lot of static icons on the screen is probably gonna burn it in even faster.
Hey, thanks for watching. As long as you make it a habit to do the maintenence and be proactive about it, you will be fine. If that isn't something you want to incorporate into your routine, I'd say pass. In my opinion, it's worth it but everyone's use case is different.
Great video dude. I've got this monitor right now and I love it though I do prefer the 4K 32-inch model because I'm a ggraphics snob when it comes to gaming 🤣 And don't worry about the video quality, I'm also starting out in UA-cam with my iPhone and so I know the struggle. But you're already doing so much better than me so keep going
Thanks so much, I'm loving mine too. It's such a good panel. As for the channels, I'm sure if we both keep at it, good things will happen. I'm already meeting and chatting with some genuinely nice people, and that includes. Expect a sub from me. Cheers, and thanks for checking out my video.
Initially, the biggest difference was that the MAG was not able to get any firmware updates. I could be wrong but I heard that you can now update it. Be sure to check though if you decide to buy. Also, the Mpg has a 90w usbc power delivery ports. This has been clutch for me because I'm able to charge my laptop while it's connected to the monitor without the laptop being plugged into the wall. You could also use it to plug in and charge a cellphone if you only plan to use it as a console. The screens are basically the same. I hope this helps and thanks for watching. If you have any other questions let me know.
Good luck in doing your research. I found the process fun. But When I saw the price of the MSI, KVM Switch, Full functioning HDMI 2.1 ports for gaming consoles. it made the choice easy for me. Even if I don't plan on using these features, it is nice to have. If you think about it, keep me posted on what you decide to do.
Hi there, thanks for watching. There are a variety of different settings in MSI Intellegence software that you can use with this monitor. There are many presets but you can also make adjustments to the brightness and contrast and all of the other typical settings. I usually just play with the settings and adjust to my liking. No real hard settings. Hdr mode you are limited on what you can change though.
I have this monitor arriving on Monday and I’m starting to get second thoughts about wanting 4k instead. It’s really a pain trying to find a decent 4k HDR monitor that isn’t an oled though. A $1200-$1300 4k oled just isn’t within my budget at the moment.
Nice, glad you were able to get a hold of one. At the end of the day, we all would like the highest resolution. However, this is one of the few products I've come across that will make you forget about that aspect. Your fps and color production from the display will male you forget about the lack of 4k. I hope you enjoy it. Cheers!
Thank you. I appreciate you taking the time to watch. unfortunately no. I do plan on doing a follow up video on this topic. Most of my testing has been on games that are graphically demanding games. I plan on testing other games and dropping the panel's refresh rate down to 1080p and playing around with the settings. Perhaps I'll play some COD Warzone or CS GO on lower setting to see if we can get to that 360HZ. Id be surprised if any game could get up to 360 unless it is an indie title. Could be wrong though.
@joethelocator1161 usually between 120 and 200. That's for games I've been playing like Cyberpunk, and Returnal. Even higher with games like Doom Eternal. I tell ya, you're giving me some great ideas for new videos. LoL I needed to get this one out, but there is clearly more testing to do with it and the Dock and 4090. :)
@joethelocator1161 Mostly High settings. I usually feel like in most games you don't get your bang for the buck running at ultra but I will try that setting out too.
@@Slyclientthetechdad **UPDATE** Yooo Unc I just got this mf for $599 off Amazon (the last 1😭🙏🏾), it’s new w/ a few minor scratches on the screen is that a W or L??
@@KAGUTSUCHIIIII think it is a big win. However, use it for a week or so to see if those scratches bother you. If they dont keep it. If they do, send it back
They all use a similar screen. However, the thing that separates this one is the KVM switch, 90W power supply ports for charging your laptop or phone while the monitor is turned on. But I think the biggest separation is HDMI 2.1 ports. It supports full hdmi 2.1 capabilities for conne ting an Xbox and ps5 at full bandwidth. Many of the others you mentioned do not have these things.
Hello, I’m getting some conflicting information on updating these MSI monitors. Apparently, you cannot update the monitor unless you have a PC with a dedicated graphics card. A basic PC with integrated graphics will not work. Is that true?
Hi there, I've actually never even thought about it. I would imagine you would need a PC since you need to have have the monitor connected to a pc to update. However, not sure about the dedicated graphics card aspect of it. I use mine connected to an egpu dock. I never tried it with a dedicated gpu
@@Slyclientthetechdad Yeah, I just have a basic mini PC. MSI, coincidentally. It has a 12th gen i3-12100 processor with UHD 730 for integrated graphics. That’s it. I’m now looking at the official instructions to update the MAG 271QPX E2 and it reads as follows… “Prepare • Please connect DP - DP cable between monitor and desktop system that with NVIDIA or AMD graphics card. • Don’t use any adapter. Example: HDMI to DP / USB-C to DP. • Please install latest driver for NVIDIA or AMD graphics card. • For NVIDIA graphic card, please install RTX 30xx or latest. • For AMD graphic card, please install RX 50xx or latest. • For both model: MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2 / MAG 321UP QD-OLED …” I suppose I could attempt an update anyway when the monitor arrives. But I also don’t want to potentially brick anything in case there’s an issue with updating via basic PC. I never would’ve thought that I’d need a dedicated graphics card to update a monitors firmware. Ha, go figure.
@@CincoQuallity Based on what you just shared, it looks like you definitely need a dedicated GPU. Do you know anyone who has a pc that has a dedicated gpu? That way, you could just perform the update without having your own GPU. I wouldn't try it without one. As you mentioned, you might brick it.
@@Slyclientthetechdad Unfortunately, no. The monitor is currently in the process of being shipped. I’ll have to send it right back. The irony being that both the monitor and mini PC are MSI, yet are incompatible with each other. Oh well. Anyway, thanks for your time. Take care.
@CincoQuallity Oh no, that's such a bummer. I wish I could been of help. Last thing though. You could always bring it to a local pc repair place or a microcenter if you live close to one and have them update it. It's not like updates happen very often. I've only updated mine twice since I had it and that's only because it was a new release. As time goes on, they will be less frequent. I'd hate to see you miss out on it because of this small hiccup
I feel the same way. I literally waiting for six months, hoping a 24 inch Oled would pop up. Once this came out, I had no choice to pull the trigger since 24 inches doesn't seem to be a priority for manufacturers these days.
Buying it today on amazon, hope its faster then my lg c2 oled 4k ,cause i find playing on 4k specially fps is slow and as input lag even if the tv is suppose to be really low latency ,i can see a big difference on a monitor with lower resolution ,maybe its just me but 4k for fps sucks ,guess thats why all the pros stick to 1080p tn monitor
Thanks for watching. I think you are making a great choice. I have the C2 as well. I get much better frames scaling it down on thr MSI display. Your going to love it! Cheers!
Im use to 4k but 1440p looking good at least by watching it through my tv.. i put youtube resolution on 1440p. Have u tried upscaling to 4k then downsampling back to 1440p? If so do u think that's good enough for even more immersion in single player games?
Hey, thanks for watching. Yes, I do that all the time. When I do it, it looks so good on this display, and the immersion is fantastic in single-player games. Sure, we all know 4k is more detailed in the structure of the picture, but this Qled Panel definitely makes up for it. It just pops off the screen. If someone were on a budget and couldn't buy a 4k model, this MSI is no slouch.
@@Slyclientthetechdad I appreciate the response.. I have a 4k MSI IPS monitor but want to upgrade to a qd oled but also was thinking about a 1440p which I know would be amazing for competitive but was concerned on whether or not it would be a perfect balance for the best of both worlds for single player games too.. @@Slyclientthetechdad I have a 4080 Super so gaming at 1440p native would be great when I'm playing competitive shooter games to take as much advantage of those 360 hz as possible & then when I play single player campaign story games I would plan to upscale it to 4k & downsampled to 1440p.. I may give that a shot.. U gave me the most feedback than I could get from any other channel so I can make my decision.. The deciding factor was this monitor full bandwith hdmi 2.1 ports. Unfortunately, through my research, the Alienware model does not. It's advertised that way, but some other reviewers have done testing that proves it is not. I also liked that it had a KVM switch. Being able to use the monitor with multiple devices by just hitting one setting was huge for me. Are you planning on buying one? Both panels are basically the same. You need to use the MSI Intellegence software. You cant do it directly through the OSD button. To use intelligence, you need to connect the USB B port to your pc connected to the monitor. That's how you upgrade the firmware as well.
@Warcity93 I'm usually ok, I only use it max 2 hours a day a night but others have mentioned that Oled does creat eye strain. There should be some others that commented on this topic below in the comments. Have you had this experience or looking to purchase your first OLED?

If you plan on using it with console you may not need the 90w power delivery usbc port if you'll be using strickly a console. This usbc port powers my laptop while connected to the monitor. I love it but if you don't make use of it, it makes the MAG very appealing depending on you fincial situation.
Yes indeed! The hdmi 2.1 port utilizes full bandwidth, unlike this monitor's competition, the Alienware AW2725df. These are the best two 360hz monitors at 27 inches. The hdmi 2.1 port on the Msi model is where it separates itself and becomes a better buying option. Plus, it's cheaper.
@@Slyclientthetechdad enjoy this one, i heard you like collecting monitors but stick with the one you like the most using, msi gpu on msi monitor would be a great experience

I have heard the same but I find it not to be be very noticeable. When playing story driven games I could care less. Competitive games are a different story. I have been playing a lot of Xdefinant and can't notice it there either. I don't have proper equipment to test it but to the naked eye, I don't see it as an issue. Keep in mind that there could be new firmware updates to this monitor as well. On of the biggest benifits it has over the MAG version. If there are issues, they could very well be resolved in future updates.
im still not very sure about the burn issues , OLED looks like an unfinished technology and all youtubers keep pushing it , its cool if your only gaming on it , otherwise , it is a waste. in six months getting burnings and calling for a relacement is not ok. my point. enjoy .

Cheers!

I was considering this but I think ima wait til they release more 480hz versions in 2025, the tech is improving sooooo fast.

Nice Video! Thank you!

Works perfect fot ps5. I have mine hacked up to it as well.
I would go with a 4K monitor instead
I just got the 321QRX hopefully it will be a good one .I've seen lots of reviews of it for the price.
I think you made a great decision. Its such an awesome price for what you get. Thanks for taking the time to watch and enjoy that new monitor.
@@Slyclientthetechdad Likewise brother
is there any significant difference between this and the msi mag 271qpx?
Initially, the biggest difference was that the MAG was not able to get any firmware updates. I could be wrong but I heard that you can now update it. Be sure to check though if you decide to buy. Also, the Mpg has a 90w usbc power delivery ports. This has been clutch for me because I'm able to charge my laptop while it's connected to the monitor without the laptop being plugged into the wall. You could also use it to plug in and charge a cellphone if you only plan to use it as a console. The screens are basically the same. I hope this helps and thanks for watching. If you have any other questions let me know.
I've got my eye on this, the QPX, and Dell 2725, and the (upcoming) Samsung G6 - all use the same panel...
@@Slyclientthetechdad The Samsung goes live on the fourth of June - if it reviews the same as the Dell and MSI, I'll just get the cheapest one😁
@JMUDoc Haha, nice and good decision. I'm curious about that Dell. Haven't heard much about it. Might have to look into that one.
How did you calibrate the colors of the monitor, thank you
Hi there, thanks for watching.
Cheers!

Great video brother.
With the Win Mini connected and using the 4090 docking station hooked up, are you steadily getting the 360HZ at 1440p?
@@Slyclientthetechdad What refresh rate are you hitting steadily on those high demanding games? And I imagine you are playing on high or max settings?
@joethelocator1161 usually between 120 and 200. That's for games I've been playing like Cyberpunk, and Returnal. Even higher with games like Doom Eternal. I tell ya, you're giving me some great ideas for new videos. LoL I needed to get this one out, but there is clearly more testing to do with it and the Dock and 4090. :)
@@Slyclientthetechdad Glad I can be of help 😊
Are these 120-200Hz refresh rates that you're hitting while you are playing at max settings?
@joethelocator1161 Mostly High settings. I usually feel like in most games you don't get your bang for the buck running at ultra but I will try that setting out too.

What makes this the best 27 inch 1440p QD-OLED monitor money can buy, compared to the other brands? The Gigabyte, Asus, Alienware, LG variants?
They all use a similar screen. However, the thing that separates this one is the KVM switch, 90W power supply ports for charging your laptop or phone while the monitor is turned on. But I think the biggest separation is HDMI 2.1 ports. It supports full hdmi 2.1 capabilities for conne ting an Xbox and ps5 at full bandwidth. Many of the others you mentioned do not have these things.
Hello,
I’m getting some conflicting information on updating these MSI monitors.
That’s it.
I’m now looking at the official instructions to update the MAG 271QPX E2 and it reads as follows…
“Prepare
• Please connect DP - DP cable between monitor and desktop system that with NVIDIA or AMD graphics card.
• Don’t use any adapter. Example: HDMI to DP / USB-C to DP.
• Please install latest driver for NVIDIA or AMD graphics card.
• For NVIDIA graphic card, please install RTX 30xx or latest.
• For AMD graphic card, please install RX 50xx or latest.
• For both model: MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2 / MAG 321UP QD-OLED
…”
I suppose I could attempt an update anyway when the monitor arrives.
Is there anyway where u can make the monitor go down to eye level as mine is stuck on the top view
It does take a little force for it to move up and down. If that doesn't work, try unattaching it from the mount and remount it.
@@Slyclientthetechdadworked perfectly was skeptical at first
I wished it was 25, 27inch is a bit big for me and also more PPI on lower inch, but well for single player games i guess the best is big displays.

your might be right. I haven't researched that one much. what's better on it?
So what makes this one better than the Gigabyte fo27 QD OLED that even has the speakers built in?
Buying it today on amazon, hope its faster then my lg c2 oled 4k ,cause i find playing on 4k specially fps is slow and as input lag even if the tv is suppose to be really low latency ,i can see a big difference on a monitor with lower resolution ,maybe its just me but 4k for fps sucks ,guess thats why all the pros stick to 1080p tn monitor
Thanks for watching. I think you are making a great choice. I have the C2 as well. I get much better frames scaling it down on thr MSI display. Your going to love it! Cheers!
the port is manageble is not a dealbreaker
Agreed! Thanks fot watching. I appreciate it
Im use to 4k but 1440p looking good at least by watching it through my tv.. i put youtube resolution on 1440p.

I have a 4k MSI IPS monitor but want to upgrade to a qd oled but also was thinking about a 1440p which I know would be amazing for competitive but was concerned on whether or not it would be a perfect balance for the best of both worlds for single player games too.. You could get a QD-OLED, enjoy all the benefits of the Oled experience, then, if you're like me, upgrade the 4k in a couple years. LoL However, if you can't wait, you can always go right for one of the 4k QD Oleds I don't think you need to. What’s the reason you choose the msi over the Alienware oled 360hz?
The deciding factor was this monitor full bandwith hdmi 2.1 ports. Unfortunately, through my research, the Alienware model does not. It's advertised that way, but some other reviewers have done testing that proves it is not. I also liked that it had a KVM switch. Being able to use the monitor with multiple devices by just hitting one setting was huge for me. Are you planning on buying one? Both panels are basically the same.
