I'm not a vlogger but I love your channel. I found it a few days ago when I was looking at lenses. I have stopped watching Netflix! Great stuff. There are only a few HONEST people on UA-cam and you head the list. I like how you demonstrate how gear works in a REAL sense, no matter what topic you are dealing with - checking autofocus, colours, background blur and switching gear throughout your video: I have never seen anyone else do that - KEEP IT UP ! "You'll be in jail soon... HAHAHAHA and your sense of humour, "no frills" presentation and honest opinions.... UNIQUE! Don't change.... keep the videos coming ! P.S. I'm a Nikon shooter... do you think you can soften you heart and show them the way? hahaha... keep it up.
Bro you are missing a career in standup comedy. I don’t even care about these subjects ( yes I do). I’m here for the hilarious monologue. “A fooge”?!!! Still laughing…
Your talking about cameras and kit I don’t own, or intend to own and about vlogging that I don’t do… But I can’t stop watching! Can’t tell if you have rehearsed what you say or it’s a stream of consciousness… genius level shit! TV producers in the states need to get you on comedy panel shows, you would kill it…
As a Canon 90D user I agree that I wouldn't recommend buying a new one now. Not because it's a bad camera, it's just old tech that's being phased out. Wait for the EOS R/RP replacement.
Kasey, thank you...Thank you so much. I really appreciated the fact that you made the fine effort to ensure your Figi Ninja shirt was ironed and wrinkle-free, just like the last video you were wearing it. So, again, thank you. You're such the fashionista!
Sharyn BellyDance who is going to film dancing tutorials wanted crisp foreground and background. She does not want autofocus, she wants everything in focus. She needs a smaller sensor, and good lights allowing her to stop down to the border of diffraction. 35+ mm equivalent lens to avoid distortions at the edges, then move the camera back far enough to be able to shoot the whole dance routine from a stationary tripod. Manual focus. Tutorials are technical, you want to capture precisely the whole scene. You don't go for isolated body fragments here and there. Position the camera at the chest level (looking down perspective is unflattering to humans). For belly dancing between waist and chest might be even better. Experiment. Panasonic G85 might be completely sufficient for this. Spend more money on lights than on camera. That way you might be able to buy two cameras, position them at different angles, and then show the important scenes front and side in post.
Yeah, when that noise started, you were talking about Canon (not in a good way, of course), and then your reaction, I thought you were like "really Cripple Hammer? Give me a break!"
I think people get way to hung up on image quality, that was a good example. The DJI was perfectly serviceable for most needs. Family won’t ever notice. I go between a bunch of camera’s for making short videos for friends and family and have yet to have someone care or notice what camera took the video or if it was 1080p or 4k. They only notice 480P or totally botched shots that look like a camera in a paint shaker, which gopro might even stabilize now who knows. Iphone/Gopro/DJI plus any of my full frame/APS-C/M43’s cameras, they don’t know the difference nor do they care. It’s all about the content put in front of them if it was interesting or sucked.
Personally when a camera has an option for higher res I pick it. Than I do all the post processing work like stabilizing, color grading, and zooming in on stuff that I want to be in focus. Than I render it out into 2k or 1080p (2k is the new 1080p: yt vp9 codec) Than actually do full edits on them. I think 4k should be treated as an accessory (ND filter or an extra battery). If you have the money/can see yourself actually taking advantage of it than yea it’s worth it. My two cents on the matter.
So it seems I am now a camera nerd as proven by my new member status to you :) - Happy to support you man. GREAT CONTENT - Yes i typed capitals, so what?!
First time I’ve seen your channel in about a year. You’ve gone from goofball to guru. You actually sound like you know what you’re talking about! Well done!!
@@Archonsx Well, I'm a photographer, not a videographer. My X-T3 shoots quite beautiful images. As an amateur, I can't afford the crazy prices for a Sony, Canon or Nikon full frame body. If I were going to vlog I wouldn't use a mirrorless body anyway. Way too big.
Yeah the Panasonic AF is very poor AF (Auto Focus to clarify) 🤦♂️🤣 I have a G85 and GH5, certain scenarios it's great. Then I have a A6500, great AF but those lenses cost a small fortune.
That DJI osmo was close enough that most wouldn’t notice or complain. It’s not long before small camera’s that fit in a pocket are so similar even picky people will just give up on dragging the weight around.
Hey kasey, I'm looking to upgrade my current setup. my current setup is Sony a6300 + Sigma 30mm f/1.4 dc dn. do you think that i should buy a lens with oss or a new camera, cause that rolling shutter is kinda annoying for me. -thanks for reading and have a great day :D

Hey men, what would you use for travelling and ethnographic photography, 22mm Canon EFM or 16 mm Sigma??? I have a M50 Mkii. Thanks. Greetings from Colombia :)
What about sigma 18-35 f1.8 dedicated for APSC to get FF results ? Additionaly sigma 50-100 F1.8 :) Universal 2 lenses for all. Im sitting on 80D (maybe because i have to :) and FF needs $$)
I figured it out, why you are happy with your Olympus...you did it to just suck me back into your channel so you can thrash my heart and switch to something else when I least expect it...on to you :)
Hi Casey, given the fixed total budget say $2k USD, would you recommend one system for both indoor talking head and walking vlog? I am considering R + RF 16mm + RF 35mm. Look forward to your review on RF 16mm with digital stab on. R6 is out of budget unless A7IV pushes Canon's price way down before Xmas.
Concerning contrast detect in continuous AF, newer Olympus cameras (E-P7 and E-M10 iv, even E-PL9, E-PL10, and E-M10 iii) blow away the Panasonic cameras with its depth by defocus non focus in video CAF.

Nikon is dead to me since the Z50 didn't have IBIS. I miss my Tamron 28-105 2.8 and 70-200 2.8 Nikkor but they are just too behind the curve with tech.
D700 is getting old in the tooth, BUT it has a lot going for it. Decent AF, full frame, nice big pixel sensor, nice color science, build like a tank. Don’t expect a lot of cropping with 12mpx though. Full moon is just like using on-camera flash. You want the flash or the sun to be at an angle.
