That's what's boggling my mind,as on all his vids with that fusion,the selfie stick is invisible,and looks like the go pro is actually flying close to him... very weird and cool at the same time...
I like the fusion but it’s hard to get perception of how steep it is an stuff. So please mix it up

Would be way better if you could see the snow, instead everything is overexposed.
The Fusion seems to be a very cool gadget, but you don't really see in the video what you are exactly doing, like front flip or something like that. And the trees are bending in a strange way so that you can't really see how it does actually look

I like the regular gopro footage better. It's kinda hard to tell what's going on with the fusion. A normal head-mounted gopro is more immersive.

Some people here hate the 360 perspective but I love it. I'm not into skiing but this way of filming keeps me glued to it.
The GoPro fusion is a game changer when it come to sports and filming in general. I just love how Jon uses it the way it was supposed to.
i really like the gopro fusion, but it takes away the realness of skiing. it looks like a game honestly. maybe switch it up with gopro angles from the helm :)

Definitely. It's cool for artistic shots once in a while but too much use of it makes it weird, takes a bit away from authenticity of the experience.
That backpack angle was incredible...
Awesome footage! I think the backpack angle from behind, looking down the mountain is the best. It just makes you feel like you're actually there skiing with you! So cool!

My thoughts on the GoPro Fusion footage.
-Selfie stick shots: Personally I like normal GoPro more because most of the fusion shots were to wide angle and too stable. This made it so I couldn't tell what the terrain was like and for most of the shots, it looked like you were riding a spine. With the normal GoPro there are more jitters and shakes that really show the terrain more and since it is not as wide of a view, the image is not as distorted making it easier to tell what is going on.
-Backpack shots: I did like these shots for the fusion, especially when it was a bit more to the side so it was over the shoulder more. Though it was still too smooth. It is unnatural looking and almost hard to watch at times because of how smooth it is and how much everything else is moving.
-In general: I would still prefer standard GoPro. The shake gives some more context in a way. The footage isn't AS distorted, and the ground actually looks like the ground, making it easier to watch. Also, the fusion's frame would be weirdly offset at times and gave strange views.
That said, I do like the fusion and it's idea, but I do not think it should replace the standard GoPro for most things. It is something for more specialty shots IMO.
A whole vlog of Autodesk Fusio.. I mean GoPro Fusion 360 is a tad to much. But it will be really nice to throw in as a interesting effect mixed with other stuff!
Like the rucksack shot today, imagine a punch in from that to a chest mounted gopro on the skier. Could turn out really cool!

I don't think Benni can ski, only snowboard and I don't think he can keep up the pace with those guys who have been doing this for years so maybe he is snowboarding on regular hills or at home or something :D

How should anyone prepare for this kind a trip for skii in Japan? Is it cold? Or Canada was colder?

Jon, do you do a front flip? at 1:30.... you get lost in the snow and it looks gnarly
I think its cool that you're experimenting with 360. i think for all the skiing shots the angle you're choosing is a little too wide, makes us feel a little too removed. Like a normal gopro is already wide angle, but i feel like this is just a bitt too wide, as it makes it really difficult to tell what the surrounding actually looks like because everything is warped.
The 360 camera looks best when strapped onto the backpack, so have more of those shots, don't cut them so shortly.
In terms of interesting shots, I find it way more interesting facing forward and seeing skiis and stuff, instead of backwards just seeing Jon.
Paul Demke this is all preference, just enjoy it for what it is, kick as skiing!
This Fusion 360 is incredible if you think about it, for me at least it was crazy to see Jon skiing without any camera holding or seeing him from a standard GoPro POV.
It felt like a movie!
Man the audio quality really isn’t too bad and the edit modes seem so sick for zooms and the top down earth view. So good for skiing and action sports. And internal stabilization as well!!!!!! Pow 💥 Bam 💥 Zam 💥

Am I the only one who thinks that although the shots from this 360 camera are fun they are a bit weird and annoying in the same time? This invisible go pro stick looks strange to me. I prefer those backpack shots.

Jon and Benji, you are awesome! The fusion is a great addition to the Vlog and offers next level shooting options. Here are some Tips on how to properly use it in my opinion: I think you should try to not overdo it with the fusion and only use it every so often so it stays special and doesn't get boring. Also when you use it I prefer the majority of shots to be in normal/least wide angle perspective to show the most true image of what's going on. Of course there can be some ultra wide shots here and there but again: don't overdo it please!
I'm excited to see what you're going to make out of this amazing filmmaking opportunity and keep up the great work!

Just an innocent bystander here, but I liked the skiing you did a couple of years ago with Marcus. Whatever you used then seemed more real. I loved it and that is when I subscribed.
The one from Canada? with the Heli Skiing? Think they just used a go pro hero 5 or 4 mounted to the helmets, they also filmed some shots using the RED camera. Probably one of my favorite Jon vlogs hands down was the Heli skiing.

I've just got the fusion and it take HOURS to stitch and render the footage, then you have to edit in Premier Pro to get the viewing angle you want, so poor Bennie must be working 100% - but well worth the effort guys :)
The concept of the GoPro Fushion 360 sounds nice. But when you zoom out I (and maybe others as well) don't have a clue where you are going, how fast. I also can't see if you are on a hill too.
But the other shots looked really nice!

This has been, of course, a rather nice vlog; however, I found it a bit "boring" and not so varied.
In particular, I quickly got sick of watching Jon's faceshots. It was like watching someone having loads of fun but without knowing why. Show your own pov, Jon! What's that helmet mount there for? Moreover, I don't like the amount of distortion that is involved in the supermega-wide shots shown in most of the vlog. I actually find it a bit too much. Trees and other reference points get either pushed far back in the picture or distorted... I don't think I would shoot another vlog with this amount of extra-wide shots.
I get it, you were having a lot of fun and it wouldn't have been appropriate to stop and spend a few minutes to figure out the best perspective, but... The result wasn't what I hoped.
It was actually more appealing last year's vlog from Japan with Marcus. Much better.
