Im going on a trip to lets say a not so safe country notorious for being over run by gangs.. Which do you recommend?

It's a toss up between the Rebel and the newer Stealth Pro. I am in Brasil right now and brought both in my carry-on backpack. No issue at all.
It comes down to your personal preference. Any TAB pen will do the job and they each offer different applications. You just need to decide which works best for your application.. keep me posted as to what your decision is.

Is the silicone cap tight enough to stay in place? Does it stay in place very well. I'm worried that it will just fall off on a regular use while in my pocket or something.

Hello, I've been using and testing the Stealth Pro for over a year now. It is built very well and the components, including the rubber cap are built to last.
It seems to hold up to everything that I have thrown at it so far. I did not forsee any issues with the cap coming off accidentally. It needs to be pried off with your thumb for it to disengage.
Just make sure you retain the cap once you do remove it.
